Other people do not control your thinking

Have you ever felt like someone else is controlling your thinking? If so, know your God-given right to think for yourself!

There is one Mind that every child, man and woman exists to express. Under divine Mind’s government, one being does not control another being. Each individual expresses the one Mind, and complements everyone else’s expression of the one Mind. There is no evil influence, coercion, human will-power, selfishness, dishonesty or greed emanating from the divine Mind. It has only a good influence on one and all.

The divine Mind thinks for itself, and as expressions of the one Mind, we “think for ourselves” too, expressing the intelligence and wisdom of the one Mind.

If we believe another person is controlling our thinking, it’s not because they are controlling us, but because we think they are. In fact, they are not. We’ve been hypnotized in believing they are, and thus finding ourselves living out their suggestions. But this mindless parroting of another’s suggestions can be stopped. We can demonstrate our God-given dominion to think for ourselves and act according to God’s will, not another person’s.

A hypnotist knows that he cannot control another person’s thinking unless that person yields to his suggestions. The hypnotist may employ deceitful means to gain that yielding, but nonetheless, a person who stays alert and refuses to be hypnotized, cannot be hypnotized.

If you’d like more independence in your life from the will of other people, know that you can never be hypnotized into believing that another person can control your thinking. Stay clear that the one Mind alone has influence over your thoughts and actions.

You reflect the one Mind that thinks for itself! And the effect is always good.

  1. You reflect the one mind that thinks for itself! And the effect is always good. I’m most grateful for this reminder today. And dearly appreciate the last two sentences.

  2. THANK YOU! this is fabulous. Even talking to people and hearing their stories, illnesses, troubles or whatever, is trying to make us believe it is true, when only Mind is true. Thank you so much!

  3. There is one Mind but infinite expressions of that Mind. What a boring world this would be if there was only one expression of the infinite, of course, it not possible that there would be only one expression of this divine eternal infinite Principle. Thank you, Evan for expressing the Truth that we as individual expression cannot be controlled by some false idea of hypnotism, messerism, despotism any other form of animal magnetism.

  4. Whoa! Thank you, Evan for speaking this freeing Truth to this enslaving error.
“There is no evil influence, coercion, human will-power, selfishness, dishonesty or greed emanating from the divine Mind.” Let me add that there’s no FEAR emanating from the divine Mind, either. I can actively disbelieve it, knowing the ever-present, almighty Love of divine Mind has already cast it out.

  5. Yes, Evan, I also thank you so very much that you freely declare and explaine us the divine Truth about this error. It is so helpful and healing! And yes Lorraine, I tune in to your comment, thank you.
I also love the two last truth sentences in today`s wonderful SpiritView!

    1. Oh yes, and I want to ad that we really can stay clear as God’s expression, that the one Mind alone has influence over our thoughts and actions. How comforting this nearness to God is. It’s a reason to be very grateful for!!

  6. When we think that we are growing old, or that we can’t remember things anymore, or that we feel a symptom that we do not discard instantly with the Truth of our being, or our church experience is not “rousing the dormant understanding”–all of these “little foxes” we mistakenly permit them in to control our thought,

Thank you Evan for making us stop and watch our every thought to determine if they are true thoughts of God and of we His children– thoughts only of ever-expansive good that can never ever change or diminish. God is total, everlasting, infinite good. And we are within His Mind as beautiful, complete, happy, healthy, spiritual individual expressions all the time, and under his control.

  7. ….and because there is only one Mind, God, good, we are never, ever subject to malpractice and therefore nothing can hinder our clear thinking and understanding in order to have quick, thorough Christian Science healings. There are not minds many; there is only one Mind knowing its own perfection, grace, harmony, love and power. No malpractice parading as sympathy, doubt, fear, jealousy, resentment, hatred of Truth, competition — because Mind is supreme (has absolute power and authority) and One without equal or competition.
