Realize the presence of health

Realize the presence of health and the fact of harmonious being, until the body corresponds with the normal conditions of health and harmony.

~ Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 412

You’re always realizing something. Be sure to realize what you want to experience.

  1. Thank you Evan. This is a good start of for the week.
When the nobleman told Jesus that his son was at the point of death, Jesus simply said, John 4:50 Go thy way thy son liveth.
This makes my heart burn. Jesus knew only health, only life, nothing else. He gave only the answer of what he knew about man.
This still remains a great realization to me, that health and harmonious being is all there is. What a discovery! I end by saying the great. AMEN. Let us rejoice for we have found the way.
    Hymn 64 stanza 2
I reach Mind’s open door and at its portal
    I know that where I stand is holy ground;
I feel the calm and joy of things immortal,
The loveliness of Love is all around.

    1. Thank you Grace, the holy land is always present according
      To the degree of awareness.
Thanks Evan for your inspiring statements!

    2. Greetings all: I just finished watching Online the Annual Meeting of the Mother Church. The theme of this year’s meeting was ‘The discovery today – where hearts catch fire.’ So Grace I appreciated your statement, “What a discovery!” Also the verse you mentioned in Hymn 64 above referred to ‘standing on holy ground’ and this was an idea brought forth by one of the speakers at the meeting.

I am of course feeling very uplifted and inspired. Just to see the cameras panning over the packed-to-the-brim church filled with CS’s from all over the world, hearing about the weekend’s events and watching videos from the field at CS churches worldwide warmed my heart and I was so gratified to recognize how widespread is this movement and this Truth.

The replay will be at this link:

Thank you Evan for your topic today of realizing the ongoing presence of health and harmony. Mrs. Eddy also said in S&H,
-“Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law….to have remained unchanged in it’s eternal history.” (p. 471).
-“Mentally insist that harmony is the fact, and that sickness is a temporal dream.” (p. 412)

  2. “Realize the presence of health and the fact of harmonious being, until the body corresponds with the normal conditions of health and harmony.”

… until the church body and all its members corresponds.

… until the body politic corresponds.

… until the body of evidence, knowledge, laws, opinion corresponds.

… until the body, majority, substance, topic, feeling of our thought/thinking corresponds.

… until all the members of the body of our work and social group corresponds.

… until the body of our work, portfolio, art, performances, corresponds

The body of… is the structure and substance, main or central or most important part or majority, the coordination and communication of all its member parts, the largest portion of a collection, ….

  3. I really get a spiritual boost from this SpiritView, as well as the resulting thoughtful comments – thank you all!

  4. Thank you Evan and everyone! The discussion we had last week regarding how practitioners help their patients realize “the presence of health and the fact of harmonious being” made me understand it is always yielding to the Christ (the spiritual idea of God) in human consciousness that heals anything unlike the Christ (i.e. discord of any type). That realization has made me do more studying to better understand what is meant by the “Christ” as that term is used in Christian Science. As a result of that study I’ve realized the term Christ is multi-faceted. Just a few examples of what I’ve learned about the Christ are shared below. I encourage you to do your own study of the Christ.
    ——————–
The Christ is the truth of “man’s sonship with God” (i.e., the understanding that man is God’s creation and that God loves His/Her child (His/Her creation/manifestation…all of us)).
    ——————–
The Christ is the fact of God’s ever presence with man as stated in Isaiah 7:14.

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with us].

Because God loves us and is always with us, we have nothing to fear.
    ——————–
Christ is the understanding that God is always in control of every situation.
    ——————–
Christ is “a divine influence, ever present in human consciousness” (i.e., the Christ idea is available to us NOW and all we have to do is silence material sense and awake to our spiritual sense to realize that ever-present Christ idea that is built in to our true spiritual identity and that is our purpose to manifest in our own individual way). Spiritual sense is the activity of reasoning from what we know is true…reasoning based on what we know about God and what God must be knowing…it’s a mental activity that silences discordant suggestions that may appear to come to us via material sense. Christ is always influencing/effecting us and as we yield to that influence it destroys any discord we may be experiencing.
    ——————–
The Christ is the “operation of divine Principle” (that realization that God is the only source of life and that everything that exists manifests God’s laws of harmony) that eradicates from thought anything unlike what God is knowing.
    ——————–
The physical healing of Christian Science results now, as in Jesus’ time, from the operation of divine Principle, before which sin and disease lose their reality in human consciousness and disappear as naturally and as necessarily as darkness gives place to light and sin to reformation. Now, as then, these mighty works are not supernatural, but supremely natural. They are the sign of Immanuel, or “God with us,” — a divine influence ever present in human consciousness and repeating itself, coming now as was promised aforetime,

To preach deliverance to the captives [of sense],
And recovering of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty them that are bruised.

(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. xi:9)
    ——————–
Based on the citation below, we all collectively comprise Christ (i.e., if Christ is God’s manifestation, we each are part of that manifestation).
    ——————–
If we say that the sun stands for God, then all his rays collectively stand for Christ, and each separate ray for men and women.
(The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 344:3–5)
    ——————–
Therefore, a practitioner that is knowing the truth is a manifestation of the Christ (God’s idea) and the spiritual ideas the practitioner is manifesting (knowing) are “felt” (realized) by the patient. That realization by the patient is achieved spiritually and therefore doesn’t require communication via any of the material senses.

Here’s a link to one of many articles I’ve read that describes this wonderful healing Christ!

    THE EVER-PRESENT HEALING CHRIST

Thank you all again for the many responses you shared to my question last week. I’m not just writing that to be nice or polite (I’ve literally read each comment multiple times to be sure I gleaned as much as possible from each comment). I got SO much out of all of your comments and shared articles. All of the comments were so helpful in uncovering the Christ (the correct idea) in my thinking in regard to how practitioners prayers are able to help their patients.

    1. It occurred to me I should share a link to the blog I referenced in my comment.

      https://spiritview.net/god-the-influencer/#comments

And in case you’re wondering where I came up with the fact that Christ is the “healer”, I found that in both the Nanouche article and the Wright article. See below…
      ————–
This is a quote from the Nanouche article:

“For Christian Science treatment to be effective, the healer’s prayer must witness to what is already true of Mind and man, blotting out any claims or accusations against the spiritual identity of the patient—leaving the one Mind, manifesting itself through the Christ, to enlighten the thought of the patient and bring healing. ”
      ————–
This is a quote from the Wright article:

“We can see, by this explanation, the process going on in the healer’s thought, but how is the patient “reached,” so to speak, by this mental treatment? Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says, “Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness.” The Mind of Christ includes all, and the practitioner whose thought reflects that all-inclusive Mind can be sure that his patient is embraced by this same Mind and hears the divine message. The truths that heal thinking and experience are always communicated by the Christ, not by personal human healers.”

    2. Thanks RH for your wonderful explanations of the Christ.
Decades ago I surched to understand the Christ better, from which CS also teaches to be the true idea of God. But all that wasn’t really satisfying. Until Evan gave us a long list in one of his online lectures, what the CHRIST is and does. It is a long list which I wrote down and stored it in my computer, so that I always can go to the many wonderful and useful expressions what the Christ is.
Dear Evan I am still very thankful for that “Christ-list”. It lets me understand the Christ much better!-♡

  5. “Be sure to realize what you want to experience”, Evan states above.
    What great advice!
It has been stormy here, but throughout, Trust in God’s ever-presence of
Peace still prevailed. Absorbing the Truths of these heartwarming
blessings at TMC has been a fervent desire for understanding more
of God’s Love and Being … the Kingdom of Heaven within us. Each
and every thought of divine Love expressed helps to heal and
unify and embrace us with this warming and ever-loving constant,
God of Truth’s, eternal Good. Our hearts fill with these precious
revealings … to experience the liberty that God provides … to waken
where white-winged angel thoughts illumine the darkness and to
Love, where God leads us, always.
Thank you, too, RH, for all of those profound and loving statements
to ponder and for the helpful article. So much appreciated as have
all of the wonderful expressions of Love shone forth by Evan and
the other commenters. So much love here … it is difficult to contain.

  6. Thanks RH for your deep dive on the Christ and the link to the excellent article. I also appreciated Elizabeth’s article from Brian Wright, which was so good. I really loved reading all the helpful and insightful answers and being a witness to the thoughtful sharing of this community in response to your question…the Christ in action. 🙂

A really inspiring Annual Meeting today at the Mother Church. They’ll be a replay next week, I think on June 14th, in case you missed it.

    1. Correction…I wasn’t able to listen to the first 20 minutes of the meeting and just went back and noticed the replay is available.

  7. Thank you everyone for your posts, and many thanks to you RH for your dedicated research and
bringing it to share with us on SpiritView – and getting us all involved in thinking more
deeply. I haven’t had a chance to read much of today’s, but will have a read and think as soon
    as I can.
    Maggie

  8. Thank you very much dear Evan to remind us to be wakeful to the truth of our God given State of Health. For me it is comforting what MBE says in SH, namely that Health is spiritual and that God, Spirit is our Health. That means to me that as God is eternal, our Health is also eternal and therefore indistructable!

I also watched the life online Annual Meeting this Evening (Europe is 6 hohes ahead of Boston-time). And in retrospection of the former SpiritView regarding “no doubt” I remember that Rich Evans said today, that we cannot and shouldn’t doubt because we really have no time to waste with doubt as we have too much to do with serving God in several offices like clerk, reader or chairman and, most important, as Healer! That’s wonderful!

Thank you very much Edie for your comments about the diverse explanations of the spiritual body! That is wonderfully inspiring!♡

  9. The Annual Meeting truly was Incredible! Such Love expressed and great
to be able to see the replays. The feeling of spiritual warmth shared is
way beyond words. We are so very blessed to be part of it.
Hymn #550, Mrs. Eddy’s, “Christ My Refuge”
“O’er waiting heartstrings of the mind … ” so divine in such a holy place
    as The Mother Church.
#85 stood out to me, especially, “We behold reality, Know the glory of
Thy heaven … Patience, courage, meekness learning.”
Divine Love is always with us and caring for us.
It was all, entirely so special and heartwarming, but I loved the part of
the gentleman, Daniel, who just joined the church and had been in prison.
What a wonderful demonstration of a changed (but not really, as we are All
God’s children all of the time) life. His life-changing appreciation for church
    was so genuine and inspiring.
There were so many wonderful blessings to savor over the weekend’s
most special experiences, far too many to mention, but each and every
one as inspirational as every other.
My heart is still aglow from “being there” online. So much love and
appreciation for being a member of this wonderfully, beautiful church!

  10. This artwork is really interesting. I am starting to see it all come
together now in such a fascinating way and am understanding
more and more how matter just doesn’t matter. Love is
creating what we experience and that is so very beautiful!
… and the only thing that is important.
