“You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need.”

~ Vernon Howard

“Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gets understanding, for the gain from it is better than gain from silver and its profit better than gold.”

~ Proverbs 3:13,14, RSV

  1. How very True, Evan! As each day comes about, this becomes more and more understood and relevant.
The clarity of what is really important becomes more
in focus. Thank you for the reminder….And what a sweet and joyful graphic. Happy smiles to all

  2. “What we most need is prayer for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness, love and good deeds”. (Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy).

  3. Love this! And I love the new freedom from the TV and news addiction (or just needing to have sound in the background) this past month. I am rejoicing in this new freedom, as I truly seek the spiritual ideas that are filling me full of God’s goodness.

Thank you God for your Love that is giving us what we truly need–a closeness to you, a trust and feeling of your loving presence, and a hunger to understand and love you more! Real satisfaction and fulfillment!

  4. Thank you….so good.
Am sharing this quote. Sorry, don’t know who wrote it. .

“Remember that the power to heal is gained through peace, wisdom, love, dominion over self, and good-will toward men. You possess these graces of Spirit or Christ-power, only by loving God – good – supremely.”

  5. YES! Love the Comments about Freedom from the Addiction of Facebook, News and Internet! I have recently started a discipline of Centering Prayer which gives me 20 minutes twice a day to sit quietly and Feel the Presence of Spirit and Peace! It’s making a World of Difference….in fact….I’m living in a Different World now! Yay!! Sweet Silent Peace and Love to All!

  6. So true! Jan and Bevi love your comments. I want it but do I need it applies to so many areas of our lives; i.e. older car w/no problems vs newer car with more trinkets, replacing working white appliances w/ “fad” of stainless steel, and on and on.
    Happy holidays to all.

  7. Thanks to all. We’re finally home after our testimony meeting and gathering with friends afterward, but I want to say how I appreciate this blog. My husband and I discuss this topic frequently, knowing that all we really “need” is to know God. When we understand Him we will know that we are complete and have everything we will ever need. Comforting!

  8. Thank you Daphne and Evan, for these helpful comments. These thoughts have made decluttering easier, and as others have said, freeing ourselves from the news is also liberating. Thanks to all who comment – greatly appreciated.

  9. Thank you Evan and all the inspired bloggers for your wonderful gifts each day. A friend pointed out to me recently…”Divine Love alway has met, and always will meet every human need.” And what is the human need? Divine Love. xo
