Something good is always happening

December 16, 2022 | 29 comments

When evil appears to be happening, you can trust that something good is happening behind the picture of the moment that will triumph over that evil and leave it behind.

God is omnipotent good, and always has the final say!

When Jesus was crucified, from all human appearances, it looked like evil was in control. But something good was happening. Jesus was using that moment of persecution as an opportunity to demonstrate Life in Spirit. He was praying and knowing his truth with God, which empowered him to survive the crucifixion, walk out of the tomb alive, and continue thriving in his work. He set an example that has inspired billions of people since. Something good was happening during that painful human trial.

If we feel persecuted or crucified in some way, we can find hope in knowing something wonderful and good is coming to the fore on our behalf that enables us to triumph over that evil and leave it behind. We can find comfort in knowing that God always has the final say.

Something good is always happening, and it’s happening now.

  1. Evan thanks for reminding of this wonderful and comforting message, that will finally take away all burden and fear about the holidays.

  2. Thank you, Evan for the reminder to let God unfold His goodness during times of trial. It is helpful to know that ‘God is a very present help in trouble’ and that prayer helps us to see the good that is already there.

    1. Nice to have your smiling face along with your Comment, Linda!
CSers are so…um…conscientious…about trying to Overcome The Mortal that it seems we sometimes Throw Out The Baby With The Bathwater! I need Smiling Faces, for now, anyhow! So, thanks again. I’ll get my mug on here, too, soon. :<))

  3. To the human view, which is never right, there
seems to be suffering, as I seemed to go through with a
son, holding onto the Truth, knowing only good is in action,
I had to know that death is a lie and never takes place.
Holding fast to this thought, a Sentinel came out, which was on
man’s true identity, a picture on the front of the Sentinel, a young
man looking down into green pastures, looked just
like him. I showed the picture to my husband, who confirmed
the same remark. God does send us comfort, and truth
about our loved ones, showing to us, only good is going
on. As our dear leader shares of spiritual unfoldment, the
true story of us all, peace is always here, and being seen
through this finding, our treasure, perfect God, and
perfect children. Giving thanks to our beloved friend
Mary Baker Eddy, for her trials and deep study of the Bible,
which leads to the Truth of our being. Merry Christmas
to all, and a happy New you!

    1. Mary, thank you for your sharing. It’s a perfect affirmation to Evan’s blog post. Not even the claim of the lie of death can interrupt God’s Life, which is the only life, which we reflect. Neither can deaths false claim interrupt out Father-Mother God’s perfect peace. Merry Christmas! ❤️

    2. Mary, I just read this wonderful quote from Mrs.Eddy about a friend of hers that had passed. The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 296: “He is wiser today, healthier and happier, than yesterday. The mortal dream of life, substance, or mind in matter, has been lessened, and the reward of good and punishment of evil and the waking out of his Adam dream of evil will end in harmony, evil powerless, and God, good, omnipotent and infinite.” How comforting for us all to see the continuity of all our being. Warmth and blessings to you and your husband.

  4. Evan, this SpiritView message is so comforting to me right now. I have faced a health challenge all week that left me wondering what I did wrong to allow the illness into my thinking… I have loved the early morning time spent in CS study and prayer and in reading the 4 gospels for Christmas and then the most unwanted visitant of ill health occurs. What did I do wrong? Why does it hang on? As a life long practicing CS student, how can I not see immediately the divine power that breaks this mesmerism? “…you can trust that something good is happening behind the picture of the moment that will triumph over that evil and leave it behind.” This broke the mesmerism this morning. Prayers are inspired again and normal health ensues. I learned to not chastise myself. A wonderful practitioner is working for me as well—our Christian community is powerful and healing—so grateful.

    1. Lori I can relate to your heartfelt comments. I have at times found myself thinking, I should know better by now than to fall for this (whatever error is trying to tempt us with), how could I be tricked again. That self-condemnation is painful and unnecessary. God is not condemning us but is loving and comforting us and lifting us up when we are down, or seem to be down, as we are never really down in His presence. So glad to hear how the mesmerism broke and that you are again experiencing your natural wellness.

  5. Good morning everyone! When I read your message today, Evan, I was reminded of what Mrs. Eddy tells us in Mis. p 60-61. “Evil in the beginning claimed the power, wisdom, and utility of good; and every creation or idea of Spirit has its counterfeit in some matter belief. Every material belief hints the existence of spiritual reality; and if mortals are instructed in spiritual things, it will be seen that material belief, in all its manifestations, reversed, will be found the type and representative of verities priceless, eternal, and just at hand.”

  6. “Praise God from whom all blessings flow”. Todays SV made me blink twice….amazing! Early this AM my grandson who had been incarcerated incorrectly was released unharmed. I unquestionably support our police but due to an administrative mix-up they entered my grandson’s home early yesterday, handcuffed him and took him away in their cruiser to the county jail and placed him in a cell with other prisoners. It was totally wrong. Our initial response was not to seek legal aid but to pray. And our family did throughout the day. Almost 24 hrs.later he was released under a judges order that the incident should never have occurred. To use Evan’s words :something good was happening during that painful human trial”.

    1. Your entry made me soooooo grateful to you for sharing “an administrative mix-up”; we’ve battled false actions here, to only be led out of harm. Last night, my son was trained ‘on-site’ for a new job and was introduced to work sites all around town. I was his transportation; saw way way too much night time activity, some legal and some illegal, some healthy and some injurious, He’s training to be “SECURITY” on a contract basis, for clients all over the city where there is so much ‘after hours’ activity. Divine protection covers him as HIS son.

  7. William,- thank you for your testimony that demonstrates the power of prayer to release and awaken us from the unjust persecutions of the mortal dream. Evan, your comforting message encourages and inspires complete trust that when we seem to encounter trials God is always on the scene,-enabling us to say along with the apostle Paul …”bonds and afflictions abide me,…but none of these things move me…”.

Reminded of a talk by Dorothy Rieke “Wonderful Things Are Happening” that is available on YouTube.

    1. What a joy to be reminded of Dorothy Rieke’s talk “Wonderful Things Are Happening” for the lift she brought us ALLLLLLLL!!!! We’re all included!!!

  8. Thank you for this uplifting message. It is so helpful to be reminded that God is always guarding and guiding us even when struggles appear to last a long time. Time is mortal error. We live in the presence of our loving Father Mother God always.

  9. This is such a beautiful and needed message for myself and the world. It does indeed seem, at times, that evil is in control. This message will stay with me and reverse the lie that seems to be and replace it with the truth. Thank you, Evan!

  10. Thank you Evan. This message seams to be speaking to me. I never knew how to describe the situation but you have done it so wonderfully. Something good is happening behind the scene. That is a fact. Whenever error shows up I say to myself that I cannot fall to this mesmerise because Good is always present and nothing can make me to imagine otherwise. Thanks to you all, for your beautiful contributions.

  11. Thanks for this message Even, so good to be reminded that God never takes a vacation but is ALWAYS there with us, for us, as us.

It made me think of the Book of Esther in the Bible. It is said that God’s name is not mentioned even once in the entire Book of Esther (and that the Song of Solomon is the only other book that does not mention God at all), but He is actively working behind the scenes at all times and the Jewish people emerge victorious and saved from their destruction that was planned by Haman.

I read an interesting article on this, it is not CS but I found it very balanced and helpful.
    https://bibletolife.com/resources/questions/why-is-god-not-mentioned-in-the-book-of-esther/

    1. Thank you for sharing this Rose – it ties in perfectly with Evan’s blog, and is so comforting! Under the Final Thoughts in the article, it says, “God is not excluded from the scroll of Esther because He was too embarrassed to be there. Nor was the book a piece of unhistorical propaganda. God is not hidden as an allegory in the book of Esther. Rather, His seeming absence was a deliberate literary strategy to remind us that even when we do not acknowledge or remember God, He is active in caring for us. How should we respond to that message? By acknowledging God in all our ways, thanking Him for His providence, and trusting in the Messiah Jesus.”

  12. Thank you Evan and everyone for your comments. And thank you “J” for sharing the interview with George Millar yesterday. The statement below from that article really stood out to me and reminded me that we need not pay attention to anything the material senses report. God is the only cause and we perceive God’s effect, God’s idea, via spiritual sense (spiritual reasoning). God’s effect is only good so good is all that is ever happening!
    _______
As long as error is accepted as something real —as something that needs to be overcome —we are not likely to be able to do anything about it. I think if one is working about something and seeking healing, it has to get to the point where they can say, “Well, I don’t care what the evidence says. I understand that I am actually spiritual and perfect, and I can no longer accept the false evidence, since it has nothing to do with what I am.” Because the fact remains that the whole time something appears to be out of order, it is actually in perfect order.

    1. Thank you RH for your comments about God is the only cause. I’ve been praying about this very idea, since I have been wondering about the cause of a situation when I was persecuted and I’ve never know why. Why did this incident happen, what did I do to cause it? I thought on some level this is healthy self-reflection, is there something I need to change in my character, but it can also be a rabbit hole of ever wondering about the “why” of it. So ultimately, after praying to know what I need to learn from the incident and forgiving all involved, I need to let go and acknowledge that God is the only cause and we, all of us, her loving effect. Thank you, Evan, for you blog. I’ve copied it onto the “notes” on my phone so I can refer back to it easily. I am very grateful for your dedication to this blog.

  13. To Precious Mary, and all my fellow Viewers in Spirit, indeed we must proclaim as strongly as we can, “green pastures ARE before me, which yet I have not seen… Bright skies will soon be o’er me, where darkest clouds have been…” We often must cling to some simple comforting phrase, turning steadfastly to The Light…. We MUST eventually know & see the ALL GOOD work which God brings forth, already complete, forever perfect.
My heart & love how out to you

  14. Wonderful wealth of good thoughts flowing here this weekend. Thank you to all.
Gods goodness toward his children is unstoppable, permanent , tangible. Beautiful❣️

  15. The two sweet children on this foto here remind me that I am grateful for all the children, God gave us into the world. I say this because here suddenly a huge number of children get sick and the childrens hospitals are overfull and seemingly coming more. This was alarming for me to honestly pray for the children of the world and thank God for His present of lovely, pure, innocent and joyful children. As God made all and always has the final say, there actually can only be healthy ideas everywhere.

Thank you very much, dear Evan for these spiritual views up here which affirm us that when evil appears to be happening , we can trust that something Good is happening behind the picture of the moment that will triumph over that evil and leave it behind. God is omnipotent and has always the final say! That is very very comforting in the face of seeming big evil.
I am grateful for Christ Jesus who truely showed us the spiritual way of healing and redemption, and demonstrated for us convincingly that our almighty and everpresent God has really the final say!!
Such a wonderful comforting and healing Truth sentence you gave us for the weekend to ponder: “Something Good is always happening, and it is happening now!”
Thank you very much indeed for SpiritView, Evan, and thank you all for such lively commentations.

I also allow me to send my Christmas Love to my friend in Azusa, to whom I am eternally thankful that she told me many years ago to subscribe to this very blessing SpiritView by Evan. I am sure Helga, you will read this – have a lovely 4th Advent!!

    1. Thank you so much for this SpiritView. It is so helpful! And thank you, Rose, for also sharing that article on Bible to life.com. I’ve loved reading all the comments as well. So very inspiring and uplifting during challenging times. Thank you Evan and everyone ♥️
