Something that never shuts down

April 1, 2020 | 24 comments

A reader snapped this picture of a banner placed in her local village and then forwarded it to me to share.

In light of all the government requests across North America and around the world to shut down nonessential businesses, I thought you’d enjoy the message.

  1. The banner reminds me of the Boston Music college by the Mother Church. They send out a video of several students singing and playing their instrument with the song “What the Wirkd needs now is Love” I’m sure many remember it. It was beautifully done I’m sure it can be googled!! These simple inspirations can be so inspiring and healing!
    Thanks fir sharing, Evan

  2. It is for sure that the L❤️VE we receive each day
from this blog has not shut down. ❤️ THANKS!
    L❤️VE

  3. While we are praying and distancing and washing our hands continually, I thought of some useful ideas while we’re at the sink, mindlessly scrubbing our chubby little fingers. How about scrubbing our thoughts clean at the same time? This is where everything gets started in the first place, namely fear, which is useless and isn’t one bit helpful. How about during all this handwashing if we say The Lord’s Prayer or the Daily prayer or the 6th tenet or favorite Bible verses such as the 91st or 23rd Psalm? How about the Scientific statement of being or the Definition of Church or sing some favorite hymns, such as Shepherd, wash them ( friends, family, countries, my hands) clean? Or how about In Miscellaney pg 210:1-17, “Beloved Christian Scientists… “, or Misc Writings, 354:15-19, “A little more grace, a motive made pure, a few truths tenderly told, a heart softened…” How about any of these wonderful thoughts to fill up our minds while we’re thinking our highest thoughts for ourselves and humanity? I’m sure Mrs. Eddy would. Just get a Words Only hymnal and cut out and tape pages above the sink and let your heart sing to God. What fun! Have a very delightful and blessed day!

    1. Have been doing this with 1st line of “O Gentle Presence”. The first line of most hymns will work. :> Thanks for sharing these other great ideas. Love the village sign. Maybe we will change our church lawn sign to this! Thank you, Evan!

    2. What a great banner message Evan. LOVE is NOT SHUT DOWN.
And thanks Tyke for the super-clean ideas for when we are doing our hand-washing.
And Mrs. Eddy’s hymn ends “Shepherd wash them clean”(us)(everyone’s thoughts and love, and life)
Thanks to all who regularly share inspiration in SpiritView community!

  4. Yes! Thanks for the reminder. Science and Health states- “ Love for God and man is the true incentive for both healing and teaching. Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way. Right motives give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to speech and action.. Love is priestess at the alter of Truth. Wait patiently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept. ‘Patience must have her perfect work’”.

We can all let this Love, which is God, fill our hearts, permeate our being, overflow out to our fellow man, bringing comfort, peace and healing.

There is nothing shut down about that!

  5. Ever present Love is the comforter. “All whom your thoughts rest upon are benefited”
Lots of empty shelves, tireless workers trying to meet the demands of supply, too.
Time for a prayer of God’s unending supply of all good.
Thanks to all who are praying for deliverance from evil.
    Gratitude

  6. Thank you all. The acronym for Fear ( false evidence appearing real) many are familiar with. Here is one that helps with today’s topic:
    F-Friends
    E-Envelope
    A-All
    R-(in)Reality (of God’s Love)

  7. L– loads of Love fill all space & thought
    O–omnipresence, omnipotence reigns
V–victorious is the Truth here now
    E–everyone is included–cocooned in purity!

  8. Certainly agree with M about the fact that Love from this blog never shuts down. Thank you Evan. And Tyke, love your suggestions for what to do/think while washing dishes, etc. And thank you to all who gave acronyms for fear and Love.
