Take away the struggle

Does life feel like a struggle, a constant battle with evil forces that don’t seem to ever abate? If so, there’s a spiritual way out of that strife.

See yourself from a spiritual point of view.

As a child of God, you are not a mortal struggling with material conditions. You are an immortal thriving in Spirit.

Point of view is everything!!

Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “For right reasoning there should be but one fact before the thought, namely, spiritual existence”
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 492).

When you reason out from spiritual existence, you see spiritual reality. You find spiritual health, joy, and happiness. They are found as part of who you are as a spiritual creation of God.

Struggle comes from believing one is mortal and must fight for survival. But in spiritual truth, we are not mortal. We are immortal.

Immortals are spiritual. You are spiritual.

Immortals do not fight with mortal mind for supply, love, life, and health. These things come freely and abundantly from Spirit. They are built into the being of an immortal. They cannot be materially taken away, and never are.

Immortals reflect the power and presence of God by nature. That’s the way God made them and keeps them.

Life is not a struggle for an immortal. It’s a joy.

Enjoy living as an immortal. It’s much easier that way.

  1. Thanks Evan for reminding us of our spiritual identity. Often timed we seemed burdened down with the care of the world. But being reminded we jump right back to reality.

  2. What beautiful uplifting thoughts you have shared this morning..
The battle is not ours..The victory has already been won because divine Love has cast the dragon ( the belief in life in matter) out..
The spiritually minded only need to rejoice ( affirm the truth of their being)..

    1. Scott Preller asked the question in a March 2022 Journal article: “What is the most destructive thing in the world?” Answer: the Christ, which destroys sin, disease, and death.
YES, and we have the Mind of Christ: “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

  3. God disentangles, the interlaced ambiguities of
being, and sets FREE the imprisoned thought
    S&H p. 114. 23-27

    Happy freedom day, every day.

  4. As our Church readies for our annual lecture, I can clearly see, experience and know how each one of us is immune to mortal thinking whatever form it tries to take. Identification as our true immortal idea of our Father/Mother God is essential in supporting our community and offering the gift of Christian Science which is the zenith of God’s immortal love for His creation. Thank you Evan for sharing your messages which daily uplifts our thoughts that help us support not only as individuals but, strengthen our abilities to love our communities.

  5. This is excellent. And it is one of the more challenging things for me to do. Not seeing life as a struggle is in line with Mrs. Eddy’s advice: “Meet every adverse circumstance as its master.” Thanks for this message.

  6. A recent work incident translated into a simple, but comforting, spiritual analogy for me. I was having an issue with a program on my laptop not working. I contacted IT Tech Support and was told to go to a support website. Once connected to the website, I had to give control of my laptop over to the IT tech so the issue could be resolved. So in using spiritual sense, instead of feeling that “the struggle is real”…and feeling overwhelmed by world events, job & home issues, etc. – I can go directly to our “spiritual support” aka God, as “our refuge and strength, a very PRESENT HELP IN TROUBLE.” (Ps. 46:1-2) And once I’m there, all that’s needed is simply to LET GO and GIVE CONTROL over to God, and to ask what He/She is seeing and knowing, as that’s the only true view of any situation.

    1. J, I like your analogy of tech suppprt and God support. In both cases we can rest easy and trust that all is being resolved in the best way.

If we struggle we’re struggling against a non- existent but seemingly strong opponent. This can only happen when we believe the original lie that claims we are entities separate from God. Reminds me of something Phillip Hockley says in his CS lecture about being very frightened of monsters under the bed as a child. There never were monsters there, but until he found that out for himself he struggled and suffered bad effects caused by the belief. After he saw the truth he was free.

  7. In the wake of the news coming through concerning the invasion of Ukraine, I am praying to keep in mind the truth that there is one power only, one Mind only in control and that all of us are God’s children, whether we know it or not, accept it or not, want to be or not. There is no other choice. We are all governed and controlled by God, divine Love, under His care and protection. Amen.

  8. Dear Evan, I am deeply grateful for this uplifting and freeing SpiritView! ♡
It is really needed. I love to know and affirm the spirituality of man, and so for me, never touched by any material conditions. Yes, I love and am praying to see myself from a spiritual point of view as Evan states.
Thank you dearly Evan for your helpful and healing treats !♡

  9. We have all enlisted to, among other things, hold crime in check. We all know how to do it! Truth must be utilized. It has already been revealed.

Blessed are the peacemakers – that’s all of us!
