Thanksgiving Day

November 28, 2019 | 42 comments

It is Thanksgiving Day in the United States, a special day to celebrate life’s blessings and express gratitude for them.

I’m grateful to God, above all, for every blessing life has to offer. God is the source of all good, and is present without limit to embrace, experience and express fully and abundantly. There are no bounds to God’s goodness and how much of it we can reflect.

I’m grateful for my family, my church and many friends.

I’m also grateful to you, the readers of this blog, which have grown together into an amazing community of active spiritual thinkers around the world who support and build each other up with their inspirations of truth and love.

May you have a blessed day. Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Though not a holiday in the UK, I wish you Evan, your family and all those in the US and worldwide a blessed day. I am grateful for all the helpful comments made each day by the readers of this blog and for the friend who first told me about it a few years ago. May each day be ‘big with blessings’.

  2. I am so grateful to you Evan for sharing your inspiration with us daily. One of my favourite passages written by Mary Baker Eddy is: My. 164:10
“What is gratitude but a powerful camera obscura, a thing focusing light where love, memory, and all within the human heart is present to manifest light.”

  3. I am grateful Evan for your clear thought and inspiring messages. You are a living witness of the infinitude of MIND.
    Thank you

  4. YES, EVERY DAY

I have a new idea for Thanksgiving
    Happy Giving Thanks Day!
It is a day to establish being happily giving
    thanks

Thanksgiving has become turkey, football games,
    sleeping
    Nothing wrong with those activities
But do we really stop and think about giving thanks,

    much less, happily giving thanks
    Happily giving, love, kindness, helpfulness
Giving happily, is the same but maybe easier understood
    Giving is un-selfing, self

Giving is active and when given in love, it happifies
So I’m wishing you, a Happy Giving Thanks Day…
    every day

    Melissa Baker
Excuse the way I used the words happy and happily.

  6. I wish you all a blessed Thanksgiving Day! In Switzerland, we have such a day, too, every third Sunday of September. It is called the Federal Day of Thanksgiving, Repentance and Prayer (translated from German), and it is one of my favorite feasts of the year. It is so good to be able to give thanks.
Wishing all of you God’s blessing for today and every day!

  13. I read recently that we don’t give thanks because we’re happy—we’re happy because we give thanks! And I’m so thankful today and everyday for your Spiritview Blog and what you share with us, and for Divine Love’s blessings each moment.

  15. In Canada, we observe Thanksgiving in October, but happily “share” Thanksgiving with the US too, our countries are so inter-connected through sharing borders and through the news channels, and of course, most of all through our Mother Church. I am most grateful for the Mother Church keeping us all connected with Mary Baker Eddy’s writings and the Bible, for bringing our inspired teachers, practitioners, lecturers, nurses, and chaplains to the field so that all can be blessed in so many ways. As well, the myriad people who work behind the scenes to bring the lessons, publications, etc to all. Also very thankful for Evan and his tireless dedication to his students and for his SpiritView for the world, and of course the commenters for expanding the thought. God bless you all!

  16. I so appreciate the ideas shared each day and love how this blog community supports all the contributors with wonderful insights, healing experiences, articles that uplift and the true fellowship of love. I look forward each day to Evans message and the fruitage that comes from it through the comments each day. I love the individuality of thought which shows Mind’s infinite ideas expressing themselves to others. Giving thanks for this and more. God’s goodness blesses all!

  17. How can one not give thanks when they glimpse, even a little, of Spirit’s view. Thank you Evan, and to the contributors to this blog, for sharing your individual understanding of Spirit’s, Truth’s, Life’s, Soul’s, Mind’s, Principle’s, Love’s view.

  18. I am so grateful that Mrs Eddy discovered this Science and then shared it with the world.
