It costs us much more to say “No,” to God, than to say, “Yes,” when a divine command follows through with a right idea.
When the voice of wisdom says, “You need to spend some time studying for your exam tomorrow,” and you resist because you are tired, you will likely be better off to find the strength of Spirit to study anyway to pass the exam, then to not study and fail it.
If your boss asks you to do something you don’t want to do, and the voice of Love within says, “Be gracious, patient, and look for the good,” you’re likely much better off over the long run to respond accordingly, than to reply with a gripe or complaint that creates tension in the workplace and casts a dark shadow on your character.
The Mind of God is giving us wise instruction all the time. Events always turn out better when we follow it.
