The best point of view

December 9, 2020 | 23 comments

Could you use a better point of view to get you moving down the path of progress quicker? If so, seek the highest point of view. It will reveal the options before you to most quickly realize the best results.

In this vlog, I share some spiritual perspective on how to find the highest vantage for the best point of view.

  1. I just finished reading the Lesson which had lifted my thought, and this vlog tops it off with the best advice any morning could have. Thank you, Evan!

  2. Good point of view, Thank you Evan.
Today I mentioned to a most wonderful practitioner of Christian Science is my birthday.
She immediately rephraised it as my appearing day, my coming out day…..
It’s a higher point of view. As stated in Science and Heath with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy “Man in Science is neither young nor old. He has neither birth nor death.” Page 244:23.
This is a higher point of view. Today my family celebrates my birthday, I celebrate my “appearing day, my coming out day”.
One holloween I had a bumper crop of gourds. I thought what to do with them, colorful, interesting and many.
There were little girls living next door at that time. I decided to let them play with them. They had indeas which included a roadside stand to sell them. It was cute seeing them sitting near a table with the gourds on display and a hand made sign “Gords for sale 10 cents.” I was amused.
Later that day my oldest son came home from work. He seemed pretty happy, and I enquired as to him day. He said “Did you see the neighbor girls selling gourds? I responded “Yes they are having fun.” Then he said he was so happy for them he bought them all for 10 cents each!”
I was elated that my son had such love in his heart to forward a blessing to those little girls. I was taken back because I still had to deal with that bumper crop!
A higher point of view for today… Chuckles are allowed….
Much lovingkindness, Evan and all who join us today on SpiritView..

    1. Thanks for sharing this more accurate way to think of our birth days, David. A dear friend called them “Special Days”.
And thank you, Evan, for your lesson on the importance of lifting our thoughts to get the BEST point of view. This is what will heal the world’s negativity and paralysis. We are all meant to soar as the eagles! The greatest moments are yet to come!!

    2. Hello David, May I add this to the subject of birthdays. It’s from a Sentinel article that appeared decades ago: “There is no age except in mortal seeming, no creeping years to mark a certain span, no birth but the dawning joy of learning that God, alone, is Life sustaining man.”

    3. I like the Lewis Carrol term “unbirthday”, too, which might be from “Alice in Wonderland”. Of course what’s most important is the understanding of immortality behind any of these alternative words.

    4. David, Happy Appearing Day to you, many blessings!

Thanks for “Man in Science is neither young nor old.” I sometimes get caught up in false ideas about age and mortal meanings attached to various stages of life. Appreciate seeing through that mist to the Higher Point of View.

  3. Wonderfully inspiring spiritual lesson, Evan, thank you! SpiritView with its articles and vlogs is a beautiful blessing to each one and the world each day, as is all your prayerful work for Church over the years in so many ways. Abiding thanks!

  4. Wonderfully inspiring, as always!

Thank You, God, for Evan and all Your ideas!

And thanks, Jay Matthews, for posting your smiling face–with no mask. How to did you import your photo to SV?

    :<))

    1. Hi Sue. A couple days ago, in Dec 7th’s blog on the Gift of Peace, scroll down to Brian’s comment. He gives instructions on uploading your photo on this site. If I can do it, you can too!

  5. “Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God’s own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick. Thus Jesus taught that the kingdom of God is intact, universal, and that man is pure and holy.” MBE, Science & Health 476

It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve heard or read this, it always takes my thought to that higher view of man and the spiritual universe,- the supreme perfection that God sees and knows. How humbly grateful I am that Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy proved through their amazing healing works that this Spiritview is the only reality. And Evan, your wonderful blogs and vlogs lift thought to the spiritual summit to behold “all the glories of earth and heaven and man”. Thank you Evan for all the blessings you bestow on this SV family.

  6. wow this is really cool! We probably all know it, but it’s easy to start on a problem from a lower place…. and get muddled from there. I really like how Evan thinks & helps us to improve!

  7. Angie, thanks for another very inspiring and helpful article. Here is one statement that really stood out to me:
“Of course, this doesn’t involve making a reality out of a seemingly faulty and material and cruel world. It involves glimpsing and demonstrating the reality of the spiritual, perfect world that has never known anything out of balance, broken, corrupt, unreliable, or ill.”
“glimpsing and demonstrating” how important this is!

    1. I’d like to recommend some music to lift you into the Spirit —-The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir version of Psalm 34 from our Lesson this week. Thank you all for your contributions to this wonderful SpiritView.

  8. Evan, thanks for reminding us that our thoughts were actually designed to be abiding on the highest plane, in the spiritual realm. Guess that’s why it can feel so bad and so unpleasant and downright painful when our thought/attention sits on the material or surface level, because it is unnatural and unreal for thought to be there.

  9. Thank you all for the lively comments and the links to the wonderful articles again today.
Thank you Evan for your loving SpiritView blog and for today’s inspiring Vlog.
Yes, the best point of view is from the highes standpoint. For example this evening I needed something higher than matterthinking. And as I could not go to my branch church tonight, I turned on my computer and listened to the live testimony service of The Motherchurch. Moji George had such an uplifting reading and there were wonderful testimonies and the mutual praying which all lead me to the highes peak (spiritual peak) this evening. And my quickly written thanksgiving words where also read this evening. Oh I am happy and grateful for God’s guidance to the peak .
Yes, as somebody said here today so nicely, thank you so much, Evan for your lovingkindness to supply us daily with the right ideas we need to get along with God and His healing Christ!♡ 🙂

  10. I just want to ad that it is so wonderful what Evan said, that “We all have the Mind of God” what gives us the right ideas we need. Absolute priceless, tks a lot Evan!
