My spiritual definition of RE-TIRE is to
put on new tires (tyres), and continue to go forward,
renewed in the Spirit.
Yes-this is a great thought! The first time I heard this was Sentinel Radio program Dave Hohle did in 2009 on Supply I listened to many times when I was looking for work at that time. I think (hope!) this is the one—enjoy!

I loved this episode . It’s one of my all time favorites
Thank you so much for sharing this ! The link helped me do much!
Thanks for the link to the Sentinel Radio.
Hi DKM, I have to say that God definitely used you to bless many of us today by your sharing of the Dave Hohle question & answer discussion on The True Source of Supply.
I had mentioned to a friend at work today about some frustration I had with my salary/lack of raise. She is not a CS’ist but very spiritual, she gave me some ideas on how to pray about this and I started to see there was some hurt feelings, ego and comparing myself to others and I think that’s part of what needs to be healed. She said I already have my raise. Then I came on to SV and find you have shared this link to just what I needed to hear. It humbled me and blew me away. I will listen to it many more times.
Yes, put on new tyres.
life is full. so much to do and ways to be useful.
Good morning Evan:
We all should be retiring from the material world to the spiritual, which have no elemnt
or malicious purposes to defile our thoughts.
When “planning” for retirement, the best advice I received was to:
“Do not plan to retire FROM something, . . . . Plan to retire TO something”.
PS
I must say this year marks 10 years since I “retired” TO pursuing other goals, and it amazes me that I ever had time for a full time job. 🙂
Hi I see a couple of you referred to the word “tire” with the spelling as tyre. Is there a special meaning to that? I am not familiar with that. Thanks.
Also thank you Evan and all for encouraging thoughts about retirement and entering new chapters of life in the “riper years” as Mrs. Eddy says. These days error is trying to pour out lots of discouraging and depressing thoughts about the “physical” aspects of “aging” and I seem to be having a big struggle with this narrow view. I come here to SV, to rise up and try to embrace the higher, truer view.
Hi Rose,
The spelling in England is tyre, and as far as I understand it, it is spelt tire in America. It is
really a play on words, and is meant to bring out a spiritual message. x
Thanks for the explanation Maggie!
As they say, it’s not what you are retiring from (material sense)…it is what you are retiring to…(spiritual sense)
I love this message today and the photo, so joyful and freeing!! Having
been retired for several years now, like Roger had mentioned, I, too, am
amazed that I ever “had time for a full time job”. There always seems so
much that is fulfilling time. The tire references reminded me of a time when
my car was being inspected and I knew that I needed new tires and had
brought it to my mechanic. I had started to go for a walk, while they were
going to be working on it and just then my mechanic called and asked if I
would be interested in tires from a car that had just come in that mechanically
was no longer viable, but the owner had just recently bought new tires for it.
I agreed and they had charged about a fourth of the price that new tires would
have cost. The timing of this seemed miraculous, but is just one more proof of
God’s timing and care, for we, His children. My re – tire … plan became even
better than what I had expected.
Thanks Evan and others. Your wise words appreciated. As a busy busy work person about London and the globe not enjoying retirement! Prayer and perseverance being applied!
Thank you so much, DKM, for sending the link to Dave Hohle’s
talk on supply. It opened my eyes to a way of really seeing that it is God who does the work. There was a question someone asked about feeling worthy. This meant more to me than with money or possessions. And then there was a way stated on how to feel worthy, going forward: to feel it in smaller ways first. It made so much sense. It really is possible to feel worthy!
I am going to attend Primary class in the near future, and I wondered if I would feel worthy or if I could ever understand. Now I know I will.
Thank you DKM for the Interview with Dave Hohle! It was just what I needed this moment to get my seeming sad thoughts out of mortality to the divine realm of God’s abundance! O, it was such an inspiring and so lively talk! I’m really grateful, God lead me to listen to this truth message!
Dear Evan, thanks for today’s SpiritView about retirement. When I retired, years ago, my joyful thought was, wonderful, now I have much time to work for my CS church. And I did and still do.
Yes, I can better retire from material sense now and advance with spiritual sense, gratefully! ♡
