The easier life

A man was telling me how hard his life was.  Everything he did felt like a burden to him.

“You need a new outlook on life,” I told him.  I mentioned that he was seeing himself as a mortal running around doing material things that exhausted his energy and left him feeling drained at the end of the day.  He agreed.

I reminded him that as a child of God, he is not a mortal relying upon limited resources to do his work.  He is an immortal reflecting the infinite possibilities of God, as written in Genesis, chapter one, where it is recorded that God made man in the divine image, an image that reflects the original.

“It’s easy to be a reflection!”  I told him.  “As a reflection, God is constantly giving you the energy, strength and inspiration you need to excel.  It keeps coming to you without limit.  Life is a joy to live as reflection,” I added.

“On the other hand, it’s hard to be a mortal,” I explain.  “Mortals think they work on their own, have finite resources to rely upon, and have limited time and energy to accomplish tasks.  It’s not an enjoyable way to think and live.  It’s much easier to be God’s reflection!”  I share with joy.

He understands the message, has a change of heart, and starts focusing on being God’s reflection.  Life gets much easier for him.

It’s easy to be God’s reflection.  Try it.  You’ll like it.

  1. Good morning. Thank you Evan for this powerful, eye opening message! I am grateful for this Truth and will actively embrace it.

  2. Wonderful!
Thank you for this Evan, “As a reflection, God is constantly giving you the energy, strength and inspiration you need to excel. It keeps coming to you without limit. Life is a joy to live as reflection,”

  3. Nancy.
Evan, thank you so much for this beautiful reminder that we always have been and always will be God’s reflection. It certainly is spiritual wisdom to remember to live as God’s reflection.
    Much love to all.

    1. Evan I really related to what you shared:
-“It’s hard to be a mortal.”
Yes life is hard when we believe we are mortal beings, left to our own devices, struggling with many limitations, constraints and instability of material living.
      But…..
-“It’s easy to be a reflection.”
Burden are lifted as we rely on God’s resources, which, as you state above, keep coming to us without limit. God is the do-er, we are just the happy witnesses to the doing. Personally I like the easy way! Thank you.

    1. Thank you very much dear J. for that helpful , inspiring Monitor aricle about our reflection of God’s wonderful spiritual qualities!
Thank you dear Evan that life is not heavy, but it’s easy to be God’s precious reflection!
Thank you very dearly for these needed inspirations about our real life which is God! ♡

    2. Thank for this article J, short, simple, clear and uplifting.

Like you I too loved the title of today’s message ‘The Easier Life.’ I vote for that, easy sounds good to me right about now, when things are seeming hard these days. Nice to remember that following Truth is not a struggle, but can actually be easier, because it’s our natural, normal God-created state.

  4. This is a lovely way of presenting what we really are – reflections of God.
Thank you for this message, as well as all of the inspirations you share
with us, dear Evan and all. Very much appreciated. In reflecting spiritual
qualities, we are not limited to mortal senses that would drag us down,
but with God’s Love, we are moving forward with all the good that God
has in store for us as reflections of this Good.

  5. I tried it and liked it alot, as I applied it to emptying boxes of historical documents, sorting those needing to be shredded and those which will be re-filed, locked and stored where they belong. Stayed with it, to see with relief that God is the doer.

  6. “It’s easy to be a reflection” – what a wonderful way to live, and we can! Thank you, Evan for reminding us.

  7. Love this. I hope to remember it when I have what “I” have thought of as a full plate and can’t possibly do anymore.
