The Easter message for today

April 10, 2020 | 25 comments

Easter couldn’t arrive at a better time! As fears encircle the globe about the coronavirus, Easter reminds us that the pandemic will be overcome. Health and peace will have the final say.

As Jesus Christ proved in his resurrection from the grave, evil does not have the last word. Disease and death can be conquered and replaced with health and life.

Jesus spent his ministry showing humanity the ability of God to overcome evil, of health to conquer disease, of right thinking to displace wrong thinking. He proved that any bad situation can be turned into a better situation.

The same Christ power that worked through Jesus is with us today. Jesus said, “When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you” (John 14:20, NLT).

Christ is with us! Christ is with everyone.

Let us celebrate the presence of Christ to protect us from disease, to lift our friends and neighbors out of their sickbeds and to restore peace on earth.

Christ is up to the task!

May your Easter celebration be filled with healing inspiration that makes the earth a brighter place for all.

  1. you are just wonderful with your short insight messages which help confirm our daily study in Christian Science, Thank you dearly

  2. Dear Evan,
What a promise when you wrote:
“Health and peace will have the final say.” And that: “Christ is up to the task!” These are words to live by.

Thank you for this wonderful and love-filled message today.

  3. Easter, missing being with my loved ones. But reassured that they are locked into God’s family. Never separated from Love.
Happy Insurrection, let us continue to rise above mortal sense!
    And reflect His ever presence.

  4. Like 24 13-35
Jesus was on his way to Emmaus when he saw
two downcast disciples. Not recognizing Jesus
when he ask what was troubling them, Cleopas
said, are you a stranger in Jerusalem and haven’t
heard what things have come to pass in these
    days?
    Jesus said, What things.
May we disassociate thought from what seems to
be happening so we can have resurrected
    thought.

  5. Thank you Evan for again spurring us to plumb the depths of Truth – today I’ve been studying the word “Glory” and came up with these lovely references which seem to dispel any foundation on which beliefs could take form thereby resurrecting the true sense of man.
    John 17:1
“1 – THESE words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 – As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 – And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4 – I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5 – And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6 – I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
This surely redeems man from the belief that there could be a parallel universe where mortal concepts prevail.
The Wycliffe Bible translates Glory as Clarify and Clearness:
4 – I have clarified thee on the earth, I have ended the work, that thou hast given to me to do.
5 – And now, Father, clarify thou me at thyself, with the clearness that I had at thee, before the world was made.”
[” …before the world was’ ~ before the mist/filter rose up from the earth]

I also find its helpful to know that the Man-ifestion of God is not the glass that the Light shines thru, but IS the Light where the clearest glass, free of matter – is not seen. Hence Jesus’ ability to heal because he let God shine thru.
SH 295:19 ~ “The mortal mind through which Truth appears most vividly is that one which has lost much materiality — much error — in order to become a better transparency for Truth.”

  6. Thank you F for sending the light which shines through the darkness. Becoming the transparency for Truth, is sheer delight!

  7. Thanks F
Clarify or Clearness = Glory . I like that I’ve always struggled with the word Glory these two words help a lot thank you.

  8. Thank you Kirsten for the referral of that wonderful article. I had an instance today of being offended while on a walk. There are many dog walkers here. The more mature group are eager to say “good morning”, smile and pass graciously. The 50 something group totally ignore others even when greeted with smiles or hellos, I realize now that I have categorized these younger ones as unfriendly, uncaring, and rude, I have been duly chastised and will change my thoughts toward all of Gods beloved children. Error tried to use me, back off! And be gone,! And Happy Easter to All. Thank you,

    1. Thank you so much for sharing that wonderful epiphany you had, Florida Walker. I am empowered by the wonderful phrase you said to usher your thoughts back into the kingdom of God — “Error tried to use me; Back off and be gone!” So much truth spoken in so few words. Thank you! (And as always, thank YOU, Evan, for these weeks of peace-invoking, and fear-obliterating, treatments you so graciously offered
      every day!)
      Have a blessed Easter everyone!

  9. Thanks, Kirsten, for sharing that fabulous article. Its timely message, combined with those of our Lesson sermons and periodical articles, affirms only ONE Mind that comforts and guides us. And thanks, too, Evan for the reminder of the constant presence of the Christ.

  11. On pg. 495, S&H by Mary Baker Eddy, “When the illusion of sickness or sin tempt you, cling steadfastly to God and his idea. Allow nothing but his. likeness to abide in your thought.” God is ever present and his love encircles everyone in the world.

Evan thank you for today’s inspirational thought. Hope you and your family have a wondetful Easter celebration.

  12. Happy Easter to all the Spirit View family. What an inspirational week this has been. Feeling blessed and uplifted.

    1. As the Grinch couldn’t stop Christmas, no mere belief can ever stop the Christ and Easter…peace, and God’s still, small voice is heard by all who really listen. Thank you, Evan & fellow thinkers. Our time has truly come, as Mrs. Eddy predicted. God blesses us, everyone!
