There are no unknowns with God

April 3, 2020 | 30 comments

Oftentimes in news coverage of the pandemic, experts and leaders will mention the “unknowns.”

For instance, it may be mentioned that it is unknown when the pandemic will abate, how many people will be affected, how effective the lockdowns will be, how devastating the stay at home policies will be on the economy, and so on. There is considerable fear and consternation about the unknowns that policy makers and individuals are dealing with today.

However, there is a spiritual counter to all these unknowns. There are many knowns that we can count on.
Firstly, God is here!

God is a known that can counter all the fears, worries and concerns surrounding the pandemic.

God gives us safety from the coronavirus. In a consciousness of God’s omnipotence, the virus is harmless.

God gives us help if sick. In a consciousness of God’s omnipresence, sickness evaporates, and health is restored.

God meets all human needs. Where relied upon monetary sources dry up, divine Mind can provide other forms of supply that make up.

God is a help today, tomorrow, and the next day. We always have the help we need to deal with any problem the world throws at us.

With God, you are always taken care of, provided for, and protected.

With God, there are no unknowns. Only knowns! And they are all good.

“It is the all-hearing and all-knowing Mind, to whom each need of man is always known and by whom it will be supplied” (Science and Health, p. 7).

  1. Let’s get serious about God, our precious loving parent, who knows everything about us and fills our being. This is reality. This seeming error parading before us ( I will not speak the name or give ‘it’ an identity) is NOTHING. God is All and our EVERYTHING. We can either be duped by this or know who we really are. God is not fearful, neither are the singing birds, or the trees or the green grass outside my window, why should I or anyone be fearful of a mirage that seems to be? If God made this nonsense then I’ll believe it, but my loving Father/Mother absolutely did not, so I’m going to go about my day praising Him and rejoicing in His goodness. Have a joyful blessed day!

    1. Thank you again Evan for keeping us on track and thank you Tyke..what confident and inspiring words. I really love that and have copied it onto my desktop to re-read …I love your straightforward understanding and trust! It’s great!

  2. Thank you Evan. I often use computer metaphors but I see all the lack, disease, etc as greyed out, all the same- cannot be selected. I find what comes to mind lately is Stay Porter of your Thoughts, being sure nothing but God’s thoughts root in my consciousness. My teacher used to talk about standing straight and tall on the truth; helps from feeling weighed down. Thank you for this blog, truly a beacon of light everyday.

  3. There is another metaphor today… This morning, Yahoo Finance published an article lamenting the possibly poor quality of current economic data. Well, alas! We don’t have poor data about God! He is perfect – Love, Truth, Principle – all perfectly predictable and constant, and the same is true of us as His reflection!

  4. Thank you so much Evan, a friend has told me of this inspiring site and I am deeply humbled by your heartfelt love for all mankind, your outreach and dedication to calm a world with the truth about God’s omnipotence. What a beautiful way to start our day! Much gratitude also for everyone’s comments.

  5. Thank you, Evan, & friends The new CS Sentinel has the featured article entitled: Start, stay, stick, and stand with God (by Olson). A lovely preamble to today’ blog
Gratitude to all for your constant contributions.

  6. Faith, the evidence of things not seen and the substance of things hoped for.
Knowing involves faith, faith supported by demonstrations.
The challenge presenting itself today has brought fruition. Many changes are being made.
People are in the parks. Not many in their workplaces but with their families.
Appreciation and love for care givers and the humble ones cleaning floors, the delivery
people, peacemakers, suppliers, contributors, and the prayerful.
I’ve seen a great withdrawal of immorality and evil on the internet.. Constantly coming in my
    junk mail. Now gone.
The “great unknown whom ye ignorantly worship, declare we onto you.” While fear controls many, the love and appreciation of most is bringing to an end to this unknown, ignorantly worshiped.
Soon this mortal dream will vanish and give confidence to all for the coming together for the common good for humanity. It is the Truth being known that is exhibiting progress.
    God is unchanging Love.
Thank you for staying above this error, terror and bringing to light the great Known!

    1. So great! Thank you! The recognition of no more junk mail is the best! But also people at the park, with family, reaching out to those in need is the great Known showing forth.

  7. Thanks so much, as always, for sharing these practical ideas, Evan, and all. I’m so grateful to God for Christian Science.
Also grateful to our dad for this wonderful inheritance – the truth that sets free, supplies our every need abundantly, and keeps us healthy and joyful.
So grateful, too, for Mary Baker Eddy’s sound rules for happiness and prosperity in the Church Manual, especially (today) p.77:18
God’s Requirement. Sect.5. God requires wisdom, economy, and brotherly love to characterize all the proceedings of the members of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist.
This has guided my financial stability throughout my life, keeping me from making debts, enabling me to be fearless in giving generously, saving me from being misled, and amply supplying not only my needs, but also blessing me with a rich and full life. This all has happened naturally as my trust in God’s goodness has increased and my understanding of this has increased.
I never make debts, never balance my accounts, have always paid off my mortgages to dedicate my homes, have never had highly paid employment, and yet have travelled widely and have stood by others in need. God has richly blessed me and continues to do so, as He does all His children who turn to Him. God has no favourites. His abundant blessings are available to everyone equally!
“Ask and it shall be given you!”
    Thank You, Father-Mother God ♥️

  8. Evan writes:
“In a consciousness of God’s omnipotence, the virus is harmless.”
It is so helpful to me to contemplate God’s omnipotence, His Allness. There can be nothing in addition to, the opposite of, or outside of All. All means All! Nothing more, nothing less. Since God is All good, where can evil, disease be? No where in the Allness of good.
Thank you Evan for the “Lift”, and inspiration making us think, dive deeper. We so appreciate your faithfulness. “Well done thou good and faithful servant”
Thank you also SpiritView family for all the helpful comments each day. (=

“I walk with Love along the way And O, it is a holy day; No more I suffer cruel fear, I feel God’s presence with me here; The joy that none can take away Is mine; I walk with Love today.” Hymn 139:1

  9. Thanks to all for the comments. I was unable to locate ‘Start, stay, stick and stand with God’ in the new Sentinel.given in the comment from Shirley of TX. Please assist. Thank you.

    1. I was unable to find Start, Stay, Stick and Stand with God either.

While I’m replying, let me say thank you to Evan and all commenters. Everyday has been a treatment and a teaching moment. Love God and love all.

  10. Evan – thank you for this , and for your superb Sentinel article, “You have no power over me.” I can send this one to everyone I know! It’s clear statement of how Jesus would have handled this virus, and how we all can right now. It is a gift to a struggling world – their salvation is here!

  11. This is very powerful, “There are no unknowns with God.” Have printed it to keep foremost in thought today and always. SpiritView is one of the many havens of LIGHT! Thank you, Evan, and all for the thoughtful spiritual ideas that support and inspire everyone worldwide.

  12. Rhonda, I read your very loving and thoughtful response to my comment yesterday and added a thank you, also to Lisa. How great it is to be a part of this SpiritView family.

  13. There are and can be no “unknowns” with God.
For me it is clear because, if you view every single synonym of GOD, as there are: Principle, Mind, Soul, Spirit, Life, Truth and Love, you also know God’s creation “man” We all are this “man” and reflect all the qualities resulting from these 7 synonyms, or, as I learnt in Sundayschool, the 7 names for God. And so there are only “knowns” the loved children or reflection or image and likeness of our good God, yes our Father-Mother God,
I found the words from this weeks lesson sermon so helpful for the special situation of this time: “Entirely separate from the belief and dream of material living, is the Life divine, revealing spiritual understanding and the conciousnes of man’s dominion over the whole earth.” SH p.14.
Thank you Evan for every day’s treatment in this trying times. It gives us so very much comfort!

  14. Thank you everyone for your healing comments, based on a positive, uncompromising assurance in God’s power and presence. I feel like I am part of a healing community, gathering in that “secret place of the most High” (Ps 91), spiritual consciousness. That is a safe place. All the positive thoughts are like “earth’s luminaries, which serve to cleanse and rarefy the atmosphere of material sense with pure ideals” (page 37 of S&H). Thanks, too, Evan, for this blog. Each day provides a fresh treatment, like daily bread.

It is time to join in and contribute. As many of us, I have used this time at home to sit at Christ’s feet and listen, like Mary vs Martha. Right now I’m reading through S&H. There is always something applicable to apply, which is the nature of divine Science, no matter where I am in the textbook. This stood out to me today at the end of the chapter on “Marriage” on page 69. MBE is referring to the continuity of man when we no longer marry. She points out that this “neither closes man’s continuity nor his sense of increasing number in God’s infinite plan.” This came to me as a way of counteracting the reports of increasing numbers of cases of disease (its name is nothing). No! We need to claim that God’s goodness is “increasing in number” in His/Her manifestation (us and all creation) in God’s infinite plan for unfolding good and fruitfulness. We need to claim the “increasing number” of cases where good and health is expressed each and every day! This is the reality of Gen 1 where evil, including disease, doesn’t exist. This is our spiritual reality here and now! Somebody else here talked about addressing the collective sense of body. Well, this kind of positive assurance that looks for evidence of the continuity of good and health expressed helps to cleanse the collective body of thought, bringing it more inline with God, Mind. My dad would say, “Only good is going on because God is ongoing”. Now that is “blessed assurance” (from a testimony on page 32 of the March 2020 CSJ), and we can expect that kind of assurance to be “fruitful and multiply” (Gen 1). That’s divine mathematics that blesses all!

  15. Thanks again for your insightful message. Many
Good things are being renewed….family life for
instance ……..appreciation for others as well
as needed spiritual awareness. So many
wonderful helps and a great support system
That Evan has initiated. Good continues.
    Love to all.

  16. Had a poetic sense to it!!!! Thanks for the continued support to this community and the community at large!

  17. Yesterday when I read “Error is a coward before Truth” in this week’s Bible lesson on Unreality, it occurred to me to look up the word “coward’ on the online dictionary. Part of the definition reads ” a frightened animal with its tail between its legs.” When confronted with Truth, that’s all fear can do, isn’t it?

  18. Hymn 556 has beautiful words that tie in well with what you say about God knowing our needs today tomorrw etc..
