Turn down the noise to feel God’s presence

October 20, 2021 | 20 comments

If you’re having a hard time finding God’s presence, perhaps it’s time to turn down distracting noise.

In this video, I share ideas on how to eliminate competition to your peace of mind, and find more of God’s presence that brings healing.

This vlog was filmed at the Woods Canyon Lake, in the Apaches-Sitgreaves National Forest, Arizona, when my wife I visited in May 2021.

  1. So inspiring … thank you Evan. It’s so essential to focus on Gods message and not mortal minds distractions.
‘ show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. ‘ Ps143

    1. …’God never deserted anything that he has made…’ love this from the article Angie. We are never alone..

  2. I tried SO HARD today to find that peaceful place. I even drove down to the beach. It was cold so I stayed in the car but people came and parked right next to me and dropped a small box of drinks then so much carry on trying to get them from under the cars. Everywhere I went there was no quietness so I could be STILL and listen. BUT I will try again tomorrow. I love what “M” says above…this is really helpful.

    1. Diane, it does seem challenging to feel that peace at times. I try to remember that wherever we go, our peace is inside us and undisturbed, as God provides it continually. Wishing you a peaceful day.

  3. Thanks so much, Evan, for another wonderfully inspired SpiritView. I so needed this message today — and God was right there, ever present, giving me exactly what I needed through this wonderful, selfless platform.

  4. Back again. We have a cottage on a small lake.
It was supposed to be part of the Erie cannel., but trains stopped the development and a small lake
was created. . We are on the dam side.
Recent construction to strengthen the dam removed
all trees, patios, and gardens, and added a two
    lane path.
Surprisingly I love it. Not the look, life.
My husband passed on and when I’m there,
I see life and don’t feel so alone.
People walking, riding bikes, pushing strollers,
walking dogs. Life being lived. Putting joy in
    my experience ♥️
    Just a thought.
    Hope this helps, Diane

  5. Once while being helped by a practitioner while experiencing sickness, she said, “David sit down and be quiet, then when you are quiet get quieter.”
This I was able to do and you know what? Then came sense of the most wonderful peace and felling of well being. I was healed. The complaint returned once more and I did the same. I heard the practitioner but not on the phone. I was again relieved and was fine as I was quiet and then got quieter. I called the practitioner and thanked her for the mental message. She replied that she knew nothing about the encounter. That what I thought was her work was indeed the Christ. “Christ” the link between God and His idea man.
Thanks for all the ideas presented here today in our quiet sanctuary of Spirit View. A blessed “Sweet secret place where God and man do meet”, “Horeb where on we walk with unshod feet,”
“Harbor of refuge till the storm be passed”. Hymn 297, “Science The Angel with the Sword of God”
    Blessings…..

    1. Thank you David for sharing your testimony of healing by being quiet then getting quieter. Just reading this description of what you experienced gave me a peaceful and holy feeling.

  6. To find your peace is very important. I think of the 91st psalm and how it begins saying you are sheltered there. My hope is I go there for peace not only when I am running from the bombardment of erroneous ideas swirling around.

  7. One of my favorite passages from Science and Health…”Undisturbed amid the jarring testimony of the material senses, Science, still enthroned, is unfolding to mortals the immutable, harmonious, divine Principle,– is unfolding Life and the universe, ever present and eternal.” Such a comfort to know that we actually live in “the secret place of the most High” where God’s voice is always heard.
Thank you Evan,- and David for sharing the wonderful healing that resulted from your dwelling in this sacred abode.

  8. Henry Thoreau said, “The music is continuous, but the listening is intermittent.” When seeking a quiet place to think and pray, several things tempt us away from that important part of our day.
    1. I don’t have the time.
    2. Can’t seem to stop the mind chatter.
We need to, “Be still and know that I am God.” as Evan pointed out in today’s blog

  9. Thanks, Angie, for a very helpful article. I have emailed it to myself for further study. And thanks to everyone for your comments. Elimination of fear is just the message I needed to hear today. Much love and gratitude for SpiritView!

  10. Thank you for that idea, Lori – I never thought of forwarding a recommended article to myself through email!
