Yesterday doesn’t limit today

April 3, 2025 | 31 comments

If you ever feel limited today by something that happened in your past, you can drop that feeling forever!

You are a spiritual creation of God, backed up by the infinite resources of divine Mind, blessed by the eternal health of Spirit, and embraced in the infinite care of divine Love.

What appeared to happen materially yesterday, has nothing to do with what you can experience spiritually today.

Live in the present, not in the past.  Live in Spirit, not in matter.  And move on to the best God has in Mind for you today!

  1. Yes! Yes! There is only now!! Our dear Father-Mother God’s absolute perfection in divine and holy expression! We have eternal Life of infinite good and perfect health -mental and physical.

  2. What a wonderful lift to experience freedom today and always . Thank you Evan .
    Hymn 49 ( a little part )
Drop Thy still dews of quietness,
Till all our strivings cease;
Take from us now the strain and stress,
And let our ordered lives confess
….The beauty of Thy peace. —“
    Grateful❣️

  3. Perfect Evan. On what is considered to be my human birthday today, it can be easy to look back to times past, but your message today of living in the present is just what I needed to hear! Thank you. L. X

    1. Dear Linda
Wishing you a beautiful Day today….I don’t really count years but just think of the number of summers in the garden I’ve enjoyed.B.x

      1. Thank you Barbara, that’s a nice way of looking at it. I am at present wandering round a beautiful sunny garden centre looking at the lovely plants! L. X

        1. What a lovely way to enjoy your special day, Linda! I always
love being amongst all of the beauty, color and gentle
expressions of God’s creations in flowers, so I’m sure
you had a great time. I love the flowers in the photo above.
          They make me smile.

    2. Oh Linda you are my birthday twin, today is also my Birthday (according to human understanding). A most Happy, lovely day to you!

I was thinking about birthdays and what do they really mean. In Christian Science we are fortunate to learn about our eternal true nature. God has no beginning, middle, end, so by reflection, neither do we. Still if we don’t take it too seriously, putting any heavy meanings or expectations on the day itself or on the age we have so called reached, it can be nice to treat ourselves extra special. Also it’s nice to give others the chance to bless us and wish us well and receive that with open arms, seeing those well wishes as expressions of God’s love coming to us.

Evan this is a wonderful statement you made, “You are a spiritual creation of God, backed up by the infinite resources of divine Mind, blessed by the eternal health of Spirit, and embraced in the infinite care of divine Love.” Thank you.

      1. A very blessed day to you both, Linda and Rose. You both are
very special, as is everyone. You make every day special just
by being Yourself … but how nice to know you are so cherished
        and loved.
Happy Special Every-Day … to you both and Everyone!

  4. As I understand it in Christian Science, we live in the eternal spiritual now, as God’s own image and likeness, and therefore there has never been a material yesterday full of things to regret, or that would tempt us to believe in their suggestions of material woes that we seem to have been a part of. They have never been real, so we can cast them out as unreal because not of
God, who is infinite Love, and is our life.

There is no tomorrow either in God’s eternal day.. The thought that may come to us that things may be better tomorrow is suggesting that there is something not right now that needs healing or correcting. That is just a lie about God, and therefore about us His children – we are complete and whole now and forever, upheld by God’s ever-operative Law of Truth and Love – One with God forever.

This week’s Lesson is wonderful in teaching us
how to live in the eternal now – how to express
the reality of our true being as humble and joyful
spiritual ideas of God, The Kingdom of God is
within us, and so we include within us all that
we need to glorify our wonderful Father-Mother-God
right now and forever in God’s eternal day.

“This is the day the Lord has made,
    Be glad, give thanks, rejoice.
    Stand in His presence unafraid
In praise lift up your voice….” (Hymn 342)

    1. Beautifully expressed ! There is only now..never a mortal past..Eddy assures us the straight line and curve NEVER touch..

  5. “What appeared to happen materially yesterday, has nothing to do with what you can experience spiritually today.“
    Thank you Evan
Thank you all, disciples “and seekers of Truth”
Each passing day removing the material dirt of our screen,
And feel the undescrible piece Eddy talks about.

  6. Oh ! Thankyou Dear Evan , and all Spiritual View Family! this is so Beautiful. It’s food for thought today , We’ll savor every bite of Truth. much Love to all

  7. I love, Love, LOVE … this message today and the beautiful photo. It is just
what I need to hear today! Such endearing thoughts to hold on to. In waking
this morning, the smile that I normally see when the sun peeks through the
room darkening drapes that looks like a smile (with two grommets looking like
eyes and a ( 😛 ) in the drape fold – was not easy to see because of the rain.
But looking closer, it is there. Kind of like spiritual Truth/God being present,
or a gentle breeze, even though we can not see, we Know it is there, like the
calming music of a wind chime. I love the thought of wandering through a
beautiful sunny garden center on a rainy day, also. So Lovely, being here with
all of you wonderful expressions of Love. Thank you all, for such needed and
    special inspiration!

    1. Ooops, the emotion graphic came up unexpectantly. I had typed a smile in
letters, so am surprised to have this graphic come up. It does sort of look
      like a smile though. : )

  8. Thank you always, Evan. And thank you all of you for your comments, I feel rewarded by
all of you, this is so amazing, God is so good to me, I do look forward to SpiritView and
the Daily Lift each morning, the links provided to excellent articles, the weekly Bible Lessons,
Sentinel, Journal, Cedars Camp & all the readings that they provide, I am in heaven. Love
    to all of you.

    1. And thank you so much to you J for all the wonderful helpful articles you post for us all to enjoy. L. X

  9. Linda and Rose, a special limitless day and year is my wish to you and to all. Thank you Evan for your words and the beautiful photo. I was reminded of a quote I use almost every morning from “Divinity Course and General Collections.”

“…with a sweet sense of God’s nearness I will know that yesterday is gone, and left no bitterness, and that today is big with blessings, that tomorrow belongs to God, and to realize this today eliminates all worry and pain and trouble, and brings peace and happiness.”
