Do you ever get concerned about how the government of your country is performing?
When I see upheaval and conflict in government, I find peace in remembering that there is a higher government in charge than what the material senses reveal. God’s government!
The prophet Isaiah reminds us, “For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us” (Isaiah 33:22).
Lawmakers come and go. Judges and executives serve finite terms, destined to reach an ending point past which they are no longer in office. But above it all God continues to rule and reign. God is the head Judge, Lawgiver and Ruler over all.
God rules through divine Principle, enforcing the demands of Truth and imperatives of Love. Any condition in human government that is not up to the divine standard is going to be moved in that direction by the divine Principle which is always operating behind the scenes.
Chaos in human government is Truth overturning error, bringing to the surface ugly elements of the carnal mind that need to be exposed, handled, and replaced with higher moral and spiritual ideals. When this happens, our prayers to see God’s righteous government at work purifying human government and bringing out a higher ideal, speeds the cleansing process and supports healing.
Rather than fearing human government, pray to see God’s government in charge. Contribute to the improvement of government around the world. Stay clear that God’s government rules over all others and has the final say.

This is so helpful because YES! I have at times felt not only concerned but dismayed at all the corruption and lack of morals that is pervasive in what parades as our government in the United States especially.

Two truths I find helpful are that the government is upon His shoulders and from Revelation 19

My thought turns daily to the last paragraph on page 340 in SH- “One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations; constitutes the brotherhood of man; ends wars; fulfils the Scripture, “Love thy neighbor as thyself;” annihilates pagan and Christian idolatry, — whatever is wrong in social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes; equalizes the sexes; annuls the curse on man, and leaves nothing that can sin, suffer, be punished or destroyed.” (Science and Health p. 340:23)

Growing up in the U.S. I learned in civics class that there are 3 branches of our government and have applied that to the Bible quote mentioned today. I have found this to be incredibly helpful and a great comfort. It’s been taped on my wall as daily reminder for a long time now and goes like this:
…the Lord is our judge (judicial), the Lord is our lawgiver (legislative), the Lord is our king (executive); he will save us” That encompasses the whole spectrum of government and politics for me 🙂
Sometimes a perceived chaos is nothing more than “God’s Law of Adjustment” in action.
I also like to pray with this statement from Pan. 14:11 by MBE
“Pray for the prosperity of our country, and for her victory under arms; that justice, mercy, and peace continue to characterize her government, and that they shall rule all nations. Pray that the divine presence may still guide and bless our chief magistrate, those associated with his executive trust, and our national judiciary; give to our congress wisdom, and uphold our nation with the right arm of His righteousness.”

in so many ways, where it seems God has been taken out of the equation, but needed
even more today. God/Love’s guidance, Principle and power so often seems missing today…
sometimes so wrong, it is unbelievable – almost like a caricature of the Truth of God’s Being.
If it weren’t so serious, some of what is going on, is almost laughable in its seeming
perpetuity, but God’s presence is always constant and has to change the corruption,
greed, egocentric mindset that seems to be taking place.
If we give it power, mortal mind (mm) has the Seeming unlimited means to subtly
manipulate to get its own way … to keep us apart from the Truth and lead us astray.
As in the glorious photo above, God’s government, a higher power of the universe is
in control.

Thank you all. Very uplifting and spot on prayerful guidance, work and blessings. I woke in the night with a clear sense that there can be no resistance to Truth; Truth is universal. No resistance to Love, Principal, Mind, etc. for God is All. Understanding this, it is easy and natural to pray for your “enemies”, knowing they are God’s children. “The only power of evil is to destroy itself.” -MBEddy. Error must be self seen to be destroyed. In the light of Life, the fullness of Being, man is united and reflects God, good. “Set”, we stand, and behold God, and His unfolding creation. “OUR Father…Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as in heaven so on earth…for Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory..” Amen
