Where do you flee for safety when danger threatens?
People living in tornado zones may flee to an underground shelter for protection when storm sirens wail. Children distressed about disturbed relations with classmates may flee to their parents for comfort and guidance. People worried about symptoms of sickness may spend hours on the internet self-diagnosing and wondering what to do.
No matter what danger you face, there is one place you can always go for the best safety of all. Right to God! In a consciousness of God’s allness and goodness, fear dissolves, worries dissipate, threats fade away, calm prevails, harmony restores, healing happens.
The Bible reminds us, “My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me” (Psalm 62:7, NLT).
God is Love. To find refuge in God, is to take one’s thought into a consciousness of infinite Love. To know no other power than Love, no other reality, no other presence.
When thought is absorbed in Love, reflecting Love, and feeling Love, whatever enemy looks big and scary is suddenly not big and scary anymore. The Love of God overwhelms it and renders it harmless.
Near my home is a wildlife sanctuary for birds. Flocks of geese that migrate through our area know they are safe there from hunters. They land there by the thousands, feeding and resting on their journeys, confident of not being shot. And there is no hunter there to shoot them, because hunters are not allowed!
We can do the same with finding refuge with God. When we “land” in a consciousness of Truth and Love, of knowing God’s omnipotence and omnipresence,” we are dwelling in a place of safety. No disease can abide there, no pain lingers, no fear is found. Harmony, order, peace and health prevail. Safety is ours to enjoy.
Find refuge in God’s reality. It’s the safest place to be.

divine Love.
What stood out to me in your message … ” take one’s thought into a

no other reality, no other presence.” That is truly a perfect sanctuary,
where we are safe from anything that is unlike God/Love. Nothing
material can enter that would try to deter our spiritual being of perfection.
I, too, have a lovely area where wildlife – geese, blackbirds, deer, congregate
and know they are protected. A doe has a fawn nearby every year and
knows that she is not in harm, also. God’s beautiful world is lovely.

I’ve been very concerned lately about the “hazardous zone” air quality in my area, not leaving my home to protect myself, but also about having to let my dogs out into this 250+ AQI to “do their business” several times a day. This thought came to me, and at first I thought it was a stupid thought, a false message due to its simplicity: “The air of God is my friend.” Reading your message just now underscores it beautifully. Thank you! I want to protect my precious dogs (along with myself), and I can know that God is the Inspiration, the air that they, I, we breathe when we are allowing God to be our Protector.
