Be a champion

March 5, 2024 | 27 comments

When I came across this quote by Gabby Douglas, a successful gymnast, “Every champion was once a contender that didn’t give up,”
I thought, this rule applies to the practice of Christian Science, too.

Christian Science teaches one how to be a champion with Truth. How to defeat suffering and sickness with spiritual truth.

At times, it might look like a material error is getting the better of us, like it’s too big or too real to defeat. But it is not. No form of error, no matter how big mortal mind wants it to look, is a match for Truth. Truth is the omnipotence of God. Truth always has the final say.

Be a champion. A champion of Truth.

Side with Truth, and win.

  1. So grateful for this Post Evan … been a volatile day for me … finally got it under control when I remembered that there is only one Mind and this Mind so fills all space that the illusion there is something else going on, has not a chance of acceptance. Thank you.

  2. Thank you! Just wonderful! This gave me a great, positive thought for today. We must keep this perspective going!

  3. Leaning in to being a “Champion” NOW, looking for a missing check, after reportedly mailing an empty envelop.

Love the lift up to the REAL spiritual Truth, nothing is ever LOST. Thank you Evan and God for leading me to the Truth.

  4. Thank you Evan for this champion idea!
Small or big accomplishment doesn’t matter, but I think what it’s important is to feel the constant Spirit activity in us .
    Bless this day!

  5. I almost gave up today. Too much to handle, too tired to keep trying, too late to succeed. Today’s Post was a message from God (Love), He/She is not letting go and knows just what I need.
    Thank you!

    1. Thank you, dear “J” for that very good and helpful article!♡

Dear Evan, I am very thankful for today’s inspiring SpiritView! Am striving to be a champion of Truth, siding with Truth and win. That let’s us experience God’s glorias day !♡

  6. Thank you for today’s message, Evan. Ironically the dog I had mentioned
at the vet’s yesterday, who was putting up a great fuss’ name was Champ.
He was a bulldog and seemed like bullying was his game. It wasn’t until
his unpleasant attempts refused to be acknowledged by my dog, who
completely ignored them, did he calm down and become the champion
of peace for all involved. The Truth of his being was revealed and all was
    harmony again.

  7. I love all these posts! And the article by Barbara Vining was very helpful too.

An evangelical preacher from Texas said this; “We are all faced with a series of great opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations”. I love that.

  8. Very encouraging message – Thank You! My appreciation for sports came later in life. However, Christian Science caught my attention early on when my neighbor shared the pamphlet “God’s Law of Adjustment” with me. It does take constant effort to achieve spiritual understanding, but Truth as a goal makes it worth it. Thanks again for your Vlog which helps us advance.

  9. Thanks so much, J, for that extremely helpful article. I have shared
it with myself for further study and inspiration.

  10. Evan thank you for the wonderful reminder which I needed today – that mortal mind always wants its lies to look big and real, but the great secret is that, as you say, NO form of error is a match for Truth. Nothing can withstand the power of God. Let’s put error in it’s place (no place) and glorify omnipotent God. I called it a secret because error would love to keep the true nature of spiritual reality a secret from us, but the power of Truth is there for all, at all times.

    1. Thank you very much, dear Rose, for your good comment. I find it very interesting and true! And yes let’s put error in it’s place – n o place, and glorify omnipotent and omnipresent God! I love that, Rose, thank you very much!♡

      1. Dear Uta, you are so very welcome, glad to hear that my comment was helpful. All blessings to you!

  11. “Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming
the things you once thought you couldn’t.” – Author Unknown
Trying to hold on to the strength in God’s perfection and the Truth in seeing
mortal mind’s interpretation of things as unreal. Knowing what God can
do and is doing for all His creation. Trying to keep fear from taking over
thought that my dear, precious dog is okay, as the vet called and wants
to recheck tomorrow afternoon and is hoping it is a false positive that came
back. There are no false positives in Truth, only Truth. Trying to see this
material picture of unsettled thought in it’s spiritual perspective.

  12. Wow! So much inspiration from that quote, Evan. And from all the comments. Truth always wins. I’m grateful.
