Bring others into your safety

March 19, 2021 | 30 comments

A spiritually minded individual shared a helpful outlook with me about how she prays in public places these days.

With all the medical warnings about the presence of a virus in community spaces, there’s a tendency for many to believe they are in danger when walking about in public with other people.

She does not feel fear herself when circulating in public for she knows from experience that a consciousness of Truth keeps one’s mind and body safe from disease. She takes this understanding of safety with her wherever she goes.

So, rather than entering other people’s fear when shopping, or participating in community events, she brings them into her safety. She sees herself and others walking around in God’s presence, rife with health and void of disease.

If all of us were this proactive in knowing mankind’s safety in the omnipresence of Love, the symptoms of a pandemic would be gone.

  1. Thank you so much, Evan for this. I just love the idea of going “around in God’s presence, rife with health and void of disease.”

  2. “For in Him we live and move and have our being… for we are also His offspring.” That’s a universal ‘we’. There is none other.
    That’s a universal ever-presence, all-presence of harmony, an all-harmonious consciousness of the atmosphere and environment of God’s pure light of infinite Love. There is none other. Shadow images never ventured there and harm no one. The minute any shadows seem to enter light, they vanish.
    In Love’s light we live and move and have our being. Now and always.

    1. “In Him we live and move and have our being… That’s a universal ever-presence, all-presence of harmony, an all-harmonious consciousness of the atmosphere and environment of God’s pure light of infinite Love. There is none other.” How omnipresent and true now, Diane!

      A similar message arrived in my mail back in 1998…
      “Your kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36). It is not having to be connected up to this world. It is entirely separate, whole, complete, harmonious, free, and safe, now. This kingdom is not applied to another; it is instead of any otherness. The only kingdom is our present conscious identity as Soul, the One Ego. The fact that the outward world appears to respond is incidental, and is the result of the world of mortal appearances giving place and so hiding less the omniscient divinity of your Being. There is nothing outside consciousness. That is why good does not come TO you nor can it be taken FROM you, because you live here and now as God’s own innate dominion over what you are accepting as consciousness. You do not have to be on the defensive ever. Life is as safe as God.”

      “All consciousness is Mind, and Mind is God, an infinite and not a finite consciousness.”
      (Ret. 56:18)

      To her last class of 1898, filled with seventy of her mature students (practitioners and teachers)
      Mrs. Eddy said, “We are alive in infinite Love. The more we understand the infinity of Soul the more do we understand the divine fullness of our own Being, and the more do we find our present conscious experience beautiful, effortless, versatile and rhythmic. Governed alone by and as Soul’s Own conscious Self-awareness, our experience shows forth the beauty of infinite Soul in harmonious surroundings and events. The primal Cause has no knowledge of anything but Itself. My ability is the Christ and not a human endeavor.” (MBE Class of 1898)

  3. Thanks Evan, this picks up nicely on yesterday’s post about health being the only thing that is contagious. You said, “There is no necessity or requirement to pick up anything, especially fear, from mortal mind.”

    I love bringing everyone into the wide (infinite) circle of God’s loving care and remembering that we are calm and safe and protected (from wrong thinking), and only able to spread harmony, not harm, to each other.

    I heard this saying once, that we are, “standing in His presence, unafraid.” Love to all of you!

  4. In the ocean there is no first wave, second wave, or third wave. It is just the ocean moving back and forth. We are all individual droplets of love united in the ocean of Love!

    1. This is a great way of turning what would be a negative into a positive. Any time I hear that expression, I will think of being united in an ocean of Love, with God’s gentle waves pouring forth goodness and not despair. Thank you, Moreland, Evan and All for being One with Love.

  5. Rose, that’s from hymn 342:

    This is the day the Lord hath made;
    Be glad, give thanks, rejoice;
    Stand in His presence, I afraid;
    In praise lift up your voice.
    All perfect gifts are from above,
    And all our blessings show
    The amplitude of God’s dear love,
    Which every heart may know.

    Thanks to you and Diane for your comments and to Evan for your helpful and inspiring blog.
    Happy God’s day to all.

  6. We all stand on holy ground…. in God’s presence. Wonderful post Evan- and helpful. Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts.

  7. “In atmosphere of Love divine, We live, and move, and breath; Though mortal eyes may see it not, ‘Tis sense that would deceive.” Hymn 144

  8. oh my goodness, I needed this yesterday! I was shocked at my own abashedness when I was confronted with two different public places filled with people; suddenly, despite believing I had such strong understanding of God’s Allness, and that Love and health as the only ”contagious” powers, I was actually upset. I must do a better job of refuting the persistent imposition we’ve been bombarded with all year, and really stand firm in the Truth that God is All-in-all. I would have thought that I would KNOW this at all times, but yesterday was a challenge I didn’t immediately denounce and replace with Love.
    We are always learning, and I am so very deeply grateful for what I have learned through wonderful SpirtView and our dear dear Christian Science. Thank you all!
    Love

    1. Don’t feel bad Annie. This covid suggestion is VERY aggressively being presented to human thought so I’m sure many of us have had the same experience you described. I know I have. I’ve decided when facing challenges like this to be grateful when I discover that I’m still harboring some subtle belief in error. I think of experiences like you described are like “carbon monoxide detectors” (i.e. a way of detecting something that would otherwise go unnoticed and therefore alert us that there is still subtle error that needs we need to correct).

    2. Annie, this kind of thing happens to me too. I seem to forget at times, what I know about Truth and God and our safety and freedom from fear. Then think “I should know better.” But you are right that we are always learning and letting God lead us to higher height of awareness and understanding. No shoulds or beating ourselves up for seeming to forget, just continuing on with God. Blessings to you, and all!

    3. Thanks Annie, and others who admitted to not always “getting it right” we know what we are supposed to know and until we come upon these situations we think we do know. So like someone else says it detects the error and helps us learn. I’m so grateful for all the honesty here as we all make our way line upon line precept upon precept to the full understanding of Truth. Thanks Evan for your inspired blogs.

  9. So wonderful to read this today Evan with so many positive thoughts from everyone. We are so blessed with our knowledge of God and his protection, not just for ourselves but all for allmankind.
    ‘I sought the Lord and He answered me and delivered me from ALL my fears” Ps 34❣️

  10. MY. 210: 7 ” Good thoughts are an impervious armor; clad therewith, you are completely
    shielded from the attacks of error of every sort. And not only yourselves are safe, but all whom
    your thoughts rest upon are thereby benefitted.” (I try to read the whole article every day.)

  11. I love how this healing message applies to the recent racist attach as well as the virus. Much appreciation for
    this, and all comments. Many mornings Hymn 342 comes to mind. 🙂

  12. If we’re not FRONT line workers by definition, then we’re ON the front line by demonstration! When our world is under attack, call a Christian Scientist, and stand up for your inherent rights to FREEDOM from error, sin and disease

  13. I too try to do this too whenever I go out! Not only do I put my own armor on before going out, but I work to see the divine armor that surrounds all of us keeping out errors (diseases) of any kind. The other day your blog about not catching disease reminded me of something someone shared with me – that even if someone throws a ball at you, you don’t have to catch it. So we don’t have to catch disease, rather we can put on our Christly armor, and bring others in behind the armor of Christ, too! All protected!

  14. This poem, “The urban Christ,” by Godfrey John, helps me feel God’s Christly love wherever I am – out and about during chores, or when I’m at home with the news, etc.:

    Brothers, lift your thought of cities Throughout the plazas pressed with people
    Above the glitter and the stress, Under pale, polluted skies,
    Above the crowded institutions Between the flair and flux of fashion
    And the urban wilderness– And the politician’s cries–
    For through endless streets and buildings Moves our prayer, God’s law in action,
    Breathe God’s thoughts in millionfold, Moves the power of His Son–
    Breathes His Christ, the very presence Brightness shafting through all error,
    Out of which our lives unfold. Christ enlightening every man.

    Brothers, see your city’s beauty:
    God reveals our heavenly home–
    Surmounting data, graphs, statistics,
    With ideas–all in His name;
    Beyond additions, crime, disease,
    Beyond the media’s endless round–
    Christ translates the urban as
    His kingdom in us, glory crowned.

    I’m so grateful to you, Evan, and all SpiritView’s friends and family for this daily nourishment to know that God’s Kingdom is always in us, with us, every moment – to bless us wherever we are.

  15. Thank you !!! The word “vibrant” comes to mind. I like to think of the vibrancy of life and experiences we all encounter wherever we are.

  16. Thanks so much for this spiritual view, Evan! I am working to do it like it is stated in this SV. First important thing in the morning is, studying the lesson sermon. That helps a lot to get started the day with God. And while shopping I try to get others into my safty, also through knowing, God is all and filling all space and caring for everybody.
    Once I told a practitioner that my new neighbors always come out on their terrace because of smoking outside and that they are talking quite aloud. She said spontaniously to me that God is caring for and looking after all my neighbors causing only harmony. What a great comfort for me was that answer. And praying this I think that I also get others into my divine safty.
    How grateful am I for SpiritView and for all the inspiring, helpful and lively comments!♡
