God supports your being

January 19, 2016 | 18 comments

When you wake in the morning and put your feet over the edge of your bed, do you worry whether the floor will be there to support you when you stand? When the clouds hide the sky, do you worry that the sun disappeared? When you solve mathematical problems, do you worry whether the principle of math will work for you on that particular day? I’m guessing that you answered no to all of the above. The same floor that holds up your bed will hold up your feet. The sun is not affected by the clouds. And the principle of math is eternal. It never fails.

Now, take the same faith that you have in the ground, the sun and the principle of math, and apply it to your faith in God.

God is always there for you, without fail!

God is an absolute presence and power, even more reliable than a floor that could give way and a sun that will burn out some day.

God is an eternal principle with no beginning and no end. Just like the principle of math never wears out with use, God never wears thin or weakens either. God is always present.

You can count on God to support and sustain your being for all of eternity without exception.

It’s important to remember that God is Spirit, though. God is not matter or in matter and does not sustain material conditions. God sustains spiritual conditions. But you are spiritual! Everything about you that is substantial, meaningful and real is spiritual. You will always feel safe and secure when you understand yourself to be spiritual.

So, have no fear of loss. God is your permanent source of support. Divine Love ensures that you remain forever a whole, perfect, spiritual being made in the divine likeness of God that divine Mind conceived in the first place.

Mary Baker Eddy wrote,

“The divine Mind supports the sublimity, magnitude, and infinitude of spiritual creation.” Science and Health, p. 511.

Enjoy being a spiritual creation today, and rejoice in God’s everlasting support.

  1. Thank you Evan! Your posting today has reminded me of my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for discovering DIVINE Science…that God is ever present and holding His idea (and each individual expression of God and His idea) in perfect harmony and love. What a “comforter” that is!

  2. Evan, your message couldn’t have come at a better time.
I was feeling overwhelmed by challenges, and faith seemed to waver.
It is so reassuring to be reminded that I am rooted and grounded in divine Mind, God.
    Thank you so very much.

  3. In the light of Truth, the false reports of the material world have no life, no being, no effect… cannot be seen or felt. What a joy to know that the foundational support of divine Truth, Life and Love guides our days as we journey on. Thank you Evan and responders.

  4. How I needed this beautiful reminder this morning. “Have no fear of loss.” We are forever held in Divine Love’s all embracing arms. Thank you, Evan.

  5. God not material human opinions support me, always. Never was confused when through the study of C/S did I realize this. Why is C/S so misunderstood which is based on total harmony, I could never understand.

  6. Evan, your assumption is correct that I answered no to all of the above. However, I do pray before placing my feet on the floor that my legs will support me by declaring that “I am unfallen, pure, upright, whole and free; just as God created me.”

  7. We make things complicated,as the result of relying on the human mind. When thought is Godward we unover doubt and fear resulting in natural expectency as you have shared with us today. Keep it coming!

  8. Thanks Evan. This is just what I needed today – This is just like my morning Godly breakfast. It will get me going and sustain me for the day!

  9. Thanks so very much Evan for bringing the message so clearly that God will never ever fail nor forsake you, come whatever may. His love is unconditional and changeless.

  10. That was so inspirational . I should start every day reading it. Sometimes I get confused about praying. Who am I praying to? God is Spirit. Am I just silently repeating words to make them into thoughts? Is anybody listening or caring what I think?
