In this video, I tell of a recent time I faced such pain, and how spiritual insight led to complete healing.
This vlog was filmed at the Twin Lakes in Colorado, when my wife and I visited the area in September 2022.

What a lovely example, Evan! So interesting that you were able to identify so specifically the origin of the claim. At the same time we can be confident that even if the source of limitation appears less clear-cut, this is simply another of the beliefs of a so-called mortal existence that is forever SUGGESTING inharmony, Instead of which, the Truth when seen and realized in true activity, results in complete harmony. Additionally, any suggestion that Truth remains only in thought and does not need expression in our daily experience is an equivalent and equally subtle suggestion!

Evan, I so needed to hear the inspiration of your SpiritView today. I have had similar experiences and, at first, have looked for physical reasons to attach to the pain. Mortal mind will always try to get us to focus on the physical problem, which immobilizes us and our healing ability. Yet the answer is as close as God is, always presenting the necessary solution. I love what Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health, “Divine Principle is the Life of Man. Man’s happiness is not, therefore, at the disposal of physical sense. Truth is not contaminated by error. Harmony in man is as beautiful as in music, and discord is unnatural, unreal.”
How very interesting Evan ! A friend was feeling in a lot of pain and discomfort recently and was not resolving the situation . We talked about it and the thought came to me about feeling vulnerable and our health and state of wellbeing being at risk of change ( for the worse) at any time.
It also occurred to me that the media coverage is constantly feeding us this concept in horrifying pictures every day with coverage of the Russian attack on the Ukraine. We all feel very sorry for them but this idea of random and chance loss of home , belongings, health, life and happiness is insidiously creeping into the public consciousness across the world ! We must be alert to this . It’s presenting a powerful picture but we MUST ( as you say Evan) deny that any human mind has the power to kill and destroy life and peace. We must all be knowing that “ Evil is not power” as MBE says . My friend and I discussed this and decided to give it some time in our prayerful work and she felt a fair bit better overnight .

That was lovely. I guess I must remember that Love is always helping us to free our thought to experience reality. I am always amazed that those I think of as far advanced in their understanding are still learning. God has never presented me with something that I needed to understand that was too much for me though at times I might feel differently. It truly feels as if a curtain is being drawn back so I may see the truth thank you for sharing as I am inspired to work better.

Thank you so much Evan for sharing your healing with us. I realized early that it would do no good to hate this man but instead I needed to see him as one of God’s loved children. Hate does no good, only Love heals. We need to get rid of fear and we need to help this man and let him know that he does not need to fear for himself or his country. This world would be so much better if we would see there is no fear of each other. We need to see that we live in an atmosphere of, a world of Love and no excuses for fearing any thing.
In Science and Health on p.451 it says “(Christian Scientists) must renounce aggression, oppression, and pride of power.” Sometimes, when we manage to get rid of the person practicing these impositions on their fellow beings, there are ten more ready to step in to their place and continue the same behavior. And if you watch the news, oppression is in Iran, China, etc. So oppression is the enemy. A Sentinel article impressed me when I read the response of a practitioner to someone who called saying he was a victim of theft. She said “Don’t let them get away with it!!” The caller thought, didn’t she hear a word I said? They did get away with it. They’ve got my stuff. The practitioner said, “let me explain. The problem is not that there is a dishonest person who acted on that impulse. The problem is that they THINK they are dishonest and can act on it. If you think they are too, in a way, you are part of the problem..” He prayed like Evan did. To change his own belief in the power and reality of dishonesty or that it could possibly act in another person to cause him loss because power belonged only to God.. The perpetrator was in front of a pawn shop ready to sell the item and buy drugs, but instead called a friend and had him deliver it back to the owner.
So glad to read about Evan’s healing. I am helped by it and the world is too I think.
Thank you Evan. The fact of taking away all power from this other person and giving all the power back to God is so helpful. I see that as being applicable to every inharmonious event, local or international, that would try to upset us. It could be family relations, business situations, political outcomes we are concerned about, criminal activity-the list goes on and on. The good news is the solution is right at hand, the Love of God and His infinite power is what is real. Moves us all forward in the right way.
Richard, that is what also stood out for me in Evan’s wonderful and instructive testimony – that
we have to really know that all power belongs to God, and therefore we must
become clear about this in our own thoughts. We can remove from our
own thoughts any suggestion of any person having power to distort God’s
wonderful creation, or harm any of His beloved children. We have to love our
enemies, until we discover that we have none. Love does the work and our
privilege is to throw that light of Christly love on all who seem to the material senses
to be evil or unpleasant in any way. Thank you Evan – we need to remind ourselves
continually about this, and not be led to believe in evil in any form, but to help to
destroy its seeming reality through the law of Love.

This is brilliant Evan thank you so much for your clear description and honesty in the fact that sometimes going through all the Truths we know does not heal if we have some sort of blockage in our own thought. We have to be a clear vessel for Truth and that does mean loving all and seeing them in their true light. I too have recently had some pain and a friend alerted me to the mesmerism of the ukraine war after I had also had some plants stolen. Believing that random evil can happen or that people can be evil is a very painful thought. I’m grateful to the friends prayers that took the pain from 9/10 to 1-2 overnight. Dear Evan,- thank you deeply for sharing your vital, thought transforming experience, –a powerful example of the healing that results from impersonalizing evil. One of the lessons here is that no matter how justified we feel in our righteous indignation of another’s misdeeds, as Christian Scientists we know that hate is unnatural to anyone’s real essence as a child of God, and we cannot allow revulsion and hate to permeate our own consciousness. Mary Baker Eddy says in her Misc. Writings…”Hate no one: for hatred is a plague-spot that spreads it’s virus and kills at last. If indulged, it masters us; brings suffering upon suffering to it’s possessor, throughout time and beyond the grave.” As always I am so grateful for the blessing of your seasoned and wise counsel.

Thank you Evan for this timely testimony. It could not have come at a better time. I went home from work on Monday, because I had horrible pain in my left knee and leg from what seemed to be when I got up from a chair twisting and have my left hip give out a loud crack. That was last Thursday – I didn’t think any thing more about it and went on with my business knowing that all would be well. But on Monday morning (12/5) – the pain was to a level that I could hardly walk without horrible pain all up and down my left leg. I went to work anyway as I had payroll to finish. After payroll was finished, I left at 11:30 and went home. I called my practitioner as soon as I got home. He told me that I was “not made up of brain, blood, bones, and that I was spiritual and perfect and that I was to walk with Spirt”. I took a 2 hour healing nap. My knee was still a bit sore but yesterday, Thursday, when I got up from my chair, my knee cracked loudly and I was able to walk with almost no pain at all. My practitioner also told me last night when I spoke with him, that I should also walk in the white light of love. I reflected on that and today I am back at work and walking normally. So thank you again for your timely posting – it helped reinforce what I been working working with over the last couple of days,
This article was right on for something I have been experiencing. For a little over a yearI have ( had) been experiencing the same type of debilitating pain.. The pain started when I felt resentment and anger over a project my husband committed to do that caused me to have to do
many of his physical chores, chores that took lots of time and endurance. I have had many thongs to correct in my thought, but his commission came out of doing good for our neighbor, literally. I also have needed to correct my thought about certain leaders in our government and resentment about having my freedom curtailed while the world faced a pandemic. The best way to correct my thought, this morning, is with gratitude and knowing that God loves ALL
his children. My freedom, ability to move around, was never stopped by a pandemic. I was able to do things I rarely did before, like paint. I had time to paint, and that is something I love to do.

I have been struggling with this war from a very personal basis. I have a friend living in Poland who has taken in some refugees from the Ukraine, and still is. One particularly tragic refugee was a 17 year old girl who had been gang raped leaving her pregnant. Abortion is illegal in Poland regardless of the circumstances. My friend was able to help this girl be evacuated to Sweden, where she could then get an abortion and start her recovery. My heart ached and as I strived to pray about it, I just didn’t know where to begin. The material picture seemed so real. Knowing that God is supreme doesn’t always result in actually feeling that supremacy as being a reality. I know that God is everywhere, including Sweden, the Ukraine and Russia, so no matter what is being reported is a lie and good will prevail along with peace and harmony. ALL things are possible to God and we can fully trust in His infinite Love to fill ALL space. My job is to have this trust completely.
Lori I appreciate your heartfelt comments. Also I related to what you described about knowing God is supreme, yet not feeling it as reality at times when error seems very aggressive. We must hang in there and continue to embrace and immerse thought in Truth until what is always true becomes obvious. I can see that you know this. How can we (I) get help as in money to help your friend help this family?
There are various non-profit organizations where one can donate, however, look them up on Charity Navigator.org and check out the salaries these CEO’s and administrators and getting. I am appalled at the high salaries. I would prefer, if I could find a way to donate so that all my funds go directly to the families needs.
Even in my own community in Southern California organizations that ‘help” are getting extremely high salaries. Our branch church has started up a “Community Outreach Committee” to see how we can make a difference.
All for now, this probably is not the venue for this discussion.
However, Evan, you are amazing how you get to the bottom of things and eradicate error!!!! This is a lesson for me also!

Syl thanks for your offering help. My friend lives in Gdansk, Poland, but has a small house in the country which she is making available to anyone in need. She’s a professor at the university there and has listed her house with the authorities helping refugees. She doesn’t need any material help, but prayers are welcomed. She lived with me in So. Calif. many years ago It’s a long story, but I would briefly like to mention she got her PHD in English literature and her thesis was famous women authors. MBE was one of the authors she included and I was able to be of some assistance. She is not a Christian Scientist but well beloved by my family who are. Just a brief part of the long story. She was 19 when she came to the U.S. to help a man in the fishing industry in return for refining her English. She arrived late due to Visa problems and the fishing season had ended. He put her out on her own. She was hitchhiking into Boston and a gal gave her a ride who worked with my brother in the Publishing Society.

I’m also really struggling with this exact situation in the Ukraine, particularly from going from saying words like ‘this man is a child of God’, ‘there is no real suffering going on’, etc, to actually understanding and believing them.
I’m also sure that my lack of healing of various physical issues has a lot to do with mental ‘blockage’ around this topic (and lack of love for those in general who appear to be causing suffering, or being selfish, immoral, etc).
Your VLog and all the comments have given me much food for thought for sure.
