Let spiritual sense guide you

October 10, 2023 | 22 comments

If you’re making important decisions, or wondering what to do next, let spiritual sense form and shape your thoughts for the best outcome.

Spiritual sense is our ability to hear the wisdom of divine Mind. It’s our connection to God in which the intelligence and understanding of God flow into consciousness and inspire perspective. Inspiration coming from God leads you aright.

Material sense evaluates material conditions and mortal beliefs. It dwells in the realm of the finite, and the conclusions it draws are fraught with shortcomings, fears and unanswered questions. Material sense is not a trustworthy partner in the search for reliable answers. It can be a source of major disappointment.

Mary Baker Eddy writes, “Material sense does not unfold the facts of existence; but spiritual sense lifts human consciousness into eternal Truth” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 95). Seek spiritual truth. Seek divine insight. Seek the wisdom and understanding of God.

Let spiritual sense guide your decision making, and you’ll end up in a good place.

  1. These wonderful posts tie in together so beautifully with divine Love
all around – it feels so heavenly and takes us to places way beyond
the seeming mortal existence into a spiritual sense of things that all
one can see and hear is beauty and peace everywhere instead of hatred,
violence, materialism, etc. It is like a gentle butterfly alighting upon a
sweet flower, the sun warming a chilly morning, calmness settling in to
thought… It is such a perfect way to start the day.
    Thank you Evan and All!

  2. Thanks so much Evan. As I read and pondered this message I thought “how can I take this with me throughout the day?” I came down to just a simple “stay connected”! Try to go about every task and decision, no matter how simple or insignificant it may seem, with the inner sense that divine Love is right there……partnering and leading you.

  3. Thank you Evan and All for your beautiful uplifting ways to listen and be led today and everyday! I love all the thoughts shared after Evan’s posts! Carol, yours were especially comforting! Bless you all!

    1. Aww.. thank you, Ali… for your kind words. The sunshine dissipates the
clouds, reflecting light and highlights our Being into an oasis of such
      contentment.
      Like in Hymn # 194,
“No mortal sense can still or stay The flight of silent prayer,
Unceasing, voiceless, heart desire That seeks God everywhere…
The voices that are worldly wise, With mortal modes in tune,
Are mute in that transcendent hour When God and man commune.”

      1. Wow dear Carol, that is so loving and inspiring and healing. I do love the hymn Verse 194 very much, the words are very holy. Thank you very much indeed!♡

        1. Thank you for your response, dear Uta! Love is like a
          Peaceful boomer-rang, isn’t it…The love we give
returns to us. i.e. Love is reflected in Love. Sometimes
when we give it, we have no idea how it will affect
others, but we hope each day is a Good day and when
it is returned, it warms our heart, like with gently tossed
beams of sunlight on the bay…it’s shining sends to us it’s
beautiful ray(s) … with heavenly blessings.

          1. Yes, dear Carol, so right and true what you say, thanks a lot!
And God blesses us a l l with Her healing everpresence!!♡

  4. Spiritual sense is like opening a window to greet a gentle morning sunrise, which spreads a canvas of light on the dreary scenes of the material senses. All pictures of error vanish in God’s illuminating light, and spiritual ideas are actualized, vibrant, tangible,-and are seen to be the satisfaction and sustenance of true being.

In this week’s Sentinel Watch program (JSH online), Deborah Packer gives a excellent example of daily living in spiritual sense.

    1. Thanks Linda ! What a beautiful and solid picture your inspiration describes: « All pictures of error vanish in God’s illuminating light, and spiritual ideas are actualized, vibrant, tangible,-and are seen to be the satisfaction and sustenance of true being. »

    1. Dear “J”, like always, a superb article you found for us. It’s just what is needed, thank you deeply for it!♡

  5. Thank you J for yet another perfect article. So nice to listen when audio is available!
–And thank you Pp for your loving comment.

  6. Thank you, Evan – or Mahalo, as we say here. And William, your “stay connected” is the simple message I need, as well. I’m receiving so many wonderful ideas, encouragement & love through SpiritView.

  7. I just had a thought and feeling which obviously are not from God, as it felt unpleasant. However I immediately read the last 2 passages from this week’s lesson sermon. And there with my spiritual sense I understood my oneness with our Father-Mother God. The very last sentense in this lesson says it so clearly and is one of my favorites, on p. 336 in SH: “God, the divine Principle of man, and man in God’s likeness are inseparable, harmonious, and eternal.”
Such a comforting divine and firm Truth!!
Thank you dear Evan for your today’s topic about Spiritual Sense which listens to God for sure guidance into all Truth!♡

  8. The statement, from the article, “Learning to trust God” that J so lovingly
    shared with us…Thank you, J … says,
“Our Father-Mother knows us better than we know ourselves, because God
knows our real identity. He really made us as His expression And because
of this, God is able to give us everything we need.” That is a humbling and
very comforting thought. In times of such uncertainty, that truly is a good
thought to hold on to… God’s Love for all of us is always present and with
    us in everything we do.

    1. Yes, Carol, I also am joyfully impressed as I read “J’s” article, where we read that “God knows us better than we know ourselves because God knows our real identity as Her precious reflection.” That is indeed very comforting and to be humbly grateful for!
That article is really worth reading!!
      Thanks Carol for mentioning it!♡
