No better place to be

Do you ever make a list of ways your life could be improved?
Items like:
            If I only had a different job…
            If I lived in a different city…
            If I made more money…
            If I didn’t have this health problem…
If my spouse would be more cooperative…
And the list could go on and on.
If we categorize our life in material ways, we’re likely to always feel like something is lacking in our experience. We look out into a material world with eyes of envy, jealousy, selfishness, greed and lust and see something we don’t have but want.
Jesus Christ gave us a cure for this feeling of constant want. He taught his followers to seek the things of the Spirit, not the things of the earth.
The things of the Spirit are the riches and wealth of divine Love, which take the form of inspired thinking, spiritual mindedness, love overflowing, generosity, kindness, good deeds, unselfish giving, reliable health, peace of mind, and their kin.
The best “place” you could ever be is a metaphysical place, in a consciousness of spiritual reality where there is no material lack. And you can find this special divine place anywhere you happen to be standing on the planet earth.
In spiritual consciousness, life cannot be materially improved, for life is spiritual, and it’s already complete and whole. It lacks nothing. Life in Spirit doesn’t improve materially for it is far above what material things could ever deliver. It’s already the very best Life has to offer.
So, if you’re bemoaning your lot in life today, release your material longings and go up! Get your thought up into the realm of Spirit where there is infinite good to be grateful for, to accept, experience and enjoy.
There is no better place to be, and it doesn’t cost any money to get there.
“What a glorious inheritance is given to us through the understanding of omnipresent Love! More we cannot ask: more we do not want: more we cannot have.” Mary Baker Eddy, Miscellaneous Writings, page 307
