No shortage of the most important things with God

November 29, 2021 | 15 comments

Many items seem to be coming up short in the supply chain these days. Electronics, cars, paper items, parts for repairs, foods, and a myriad of other consumer items can be hard to find on occasion.

When unable to find expected items at the store, I remind myself that the most important things in life are already in hand.

We need food to eat, cars to drive, and clothes to wear, but more importantly, we need to love to thrive, wisdom to make good decisions, and health to stay well. These are all spiritual gifts that come directly from God and are part of our individuality as children of God. They are ours for free and readily available to express on demand.

When we seek the spiritual things of life first, and abound in them, we’ll have what we need humanly. It might look different than we expected, but that’s okay. A child of God is flexible, limber, adaptable to the spiritual opportunity of the moment.

Spiritual life lived, translates into human needs met.

As Jesus Christ taught, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need”
(Matt. 6:33).

Have no fear of shortages. Look to the supply you already have with God and let that unfold best how the human need will be met.

With God, you will never lack what is most important.

  1. Thanks be to God, that we reminded each day that God is forever in control. Therefore there can no shortage in His spiritual Love for His children, no fear that we are not already provided for.
We should all just trust His word. As the bibe tells us There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love which is God cast out fear. Let us all resonate on that today.

  2. God is our supply of all right ideas. What a comfort for everyone. Wonderful way to start the day…any day…❣️

  3. Posted this Friday at the end. Reposting

This just came to thought. There was no room
in the Inn because a better place was provided.
A quiet sanctuary away from the noisy crowd.
There was room for safety, quietude, rest. A
sheltering space, when it appeared that lodging
    was unavailable.

We might be seeing something, some items
as unavailable, when all that may be needed is
a change from “No room” to see the plentitude
of God which provides a better answer. We
have to be open to new views of goodness.
The Inn, room, would have been, smallness.
The stable was larger, quiet, perfect.
At first glance maybe not. We need to be open
to fresh ideas, and love what is provided in ways
    we never thought of.
    It’s always Him!

I hope it was okay to resend.
    Happy, stable, looking.

    1. Thank you, M! I’m so glad you did! It reminds me of a little saying I learned in Sunday School which continues to remind me to just pause, trust, EXPECT GOOD, listen and see His perfect answer/provision: “He knows the angels (ideas/inspiration, opportunity, direction, companionship, the place/stable already prepared) that we need and sends them to our side … to comfort, guard, and guide”. and Thank you, Evan. I look forward to SV so much!!

      1. Annette, thank you for mentioning “He knows the angels that we need and sends them to our side…to comfort guard and guide.” Especially for including ‘companionship’ in your list of angels, as a dear one is having seeming struggles and disappointments in the area of dating/relationships. I’m praying to see that God is guarding and guiding them and their thoughts in this area of life and all areas of Life. They once mentioned almost jokingly that God is like the parent that gives discipline and guidelines saying this is not good for you, this is not the right relationship, not the right time and so removes it from you. Humanly we feel hurt because we want what we want, but we can trust that our parent (God) knows more than us and provides only Good for us.

  4. Thank you Evan and to all you who regularly post on Spirit View. Every post I read means much to me and I try to incorporate the expressed thoughts and ideas into my daily activity.

  5. How I love this post! Especially the part where you say: ” A child of God is flexible, limber, adaptable to the spiritual opportunity of the moment”. What a great statement, Evan! Thank you so much!

  6. No shortages of gratitude here! Being out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday I was unable to join in on my Spiritview family’s sharing on Thanksgiving Day. So I will now ad a comment of deep gratitude to Evan, his family, and to my Spiritview sisters and brothers.
This blog has enriched and enlarged my spiritual life. In addition to our precious books, it is my “go to” when I need inspiration, guidance or encouragement. And It has been my source of spiritual companionship and my church home during the pandemic.

Thank you Evan for providing your readers with opportunities to share experiences, lessons learned, and healing ideas with one another. Thank you for keeping abreast of the times, identifying and countering many of the phases of mortal mind belief so that we can be alert, rise above limitations, and enjoy a more fulfilling experience. And thank you for your pristine exemplification of what it means to live Christian Science, and for showing us the immense blessings that this special way of life brings. Deepest thanks to you for your faithful commitment to this site, and for the unselfish love that you so consistently express. My heart overflows with gratitude!!

Abiding love, and a blessed week to all!

    1. Linda, your expressions of gratitude were stated so beautifully! I second everything you said.

I hope that you and everyone here enjoyed a fine and peaceful Thanksgiving day. I’m so glad to be in the company of such kind and loving spiritual thinkers.

Evan thanks for once again reminding us that the things of God/Spirit are what give true satisfaction, regardless of the ups and downs and ins and outs and chaos of material existence.

  7. Thank you J for the link to that very inspiring article. I especially liked:
To mortal belief, man’s life depends on the functioning of a physical organization; but Science shows that man, God’s spiritual reflection, manifests the omniaction of good—of God, Life—in every detail and throughout his entire being.

  9. Thank you again, Evan!

We have infinite Mind and ALL Its spiritual ideas at hand! Isn’t it wonderful?

    God bless you all!
