Have you been tempted to accept mediocrity in your life? If so, now is a good time to reject it.
God’s creation is not mediocre. It does not lack crucial elements to be whole and complete. It doesn’t come up short of things essential for fulfilling its promise.
God has given you a life of abundant health, substance, joy, happiness, and inspiration to live. There isn’t a single thing about it that is mediocre. It’s a grand Life which is fulfilling, satisfying, delightful, progressive, and productive—always!
Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “Let us accept Science, relinquish all theories based on sense-testimony, give up imperfect models and illusive ideals; and so let us have one God, one Mind, and that one perfect, producing His own models of excellence”
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 249).
Mediocrity is a poor model to follow. Reject it and replace it with models that outline excellence. You’ll rise to the higher model and leave mediocrity behind.
Don’t stop short with what you accept as possible. Go for the best. Seek spiritual life and live its awesomeness.

thank you Evan and Angie for this post and sharing link.
Evan thanks for being so clear about what our Life really consists of: abundant health, substance, joy, inspiration. That our Life is fulfilling, delightful, productive — ALWAYS. That ALWAYS is what stood out for me. It’s common to think and believe that SOMETIMES things are going to be mediocre, just ok, so so, not all that great, and we accept this as “normal.” But it’s only normal from a mortal or material perspective. We have a right to see from a divine, spiritual perspective with our spiritual sense that God put in us, so we have a divine right to see that mediocrity is not our reality as God’s likeness, Nothing can trick us into seeing a false picture of God’s man (male or female) or make us cease to be God’s man, I claim that truth for all of us today.
The quote from Mrs. Eddy about having perfect models made me think of this excellent Daniel Jensen talk which was shared here not long ago.

Love and gratitude to Evan and all.
Rose,
Thank you for sharing Daniel Jensen’s talk. This is exactly what I needed today! So grateful for all the wonderful ideas shared here!
Wow dear Rose, that talk from Daniel Jensen in the cs nursing facility in Arden Wood is excellent! This talk makes very clear, that man is totally spiritual, and Daniel also explaines how we can understand that through seeming and expressing the divine qualities in us with our spiritual sense.
How absolute wonderful, also for me just what needed in this moment. Thank you Rose for posting it just at the right time..
Also from me much Love to Evan and you all! ♡
Thank you very very much dear Evan for today’s SpiritView! It is very helpful and healing and so firmely!
In this week’s lesson sermon we read in
1st Moses 1: 31 ” And God saw every thing that he had made, and behold, it was very good.”
That actually says a l l for time and eternity!♡
Oh, I wanted to say : … it is helpful and healing and so timely. (Beginning of last paragraph).
Years ago I saw a bumper sticker on a car which read L.I. F.E – Living Intentionally For Excellence. I have never forgotten it’s directive with it’s source being God.. Thank you Evan for this timely reminder that mediocrity does not originate with God. We are His excellent expressive children. Thank you for all the thoughtful comments, too.
Thank you Evan for this great post, which for me it brought that quote of Mrs. Eddy’s under the magnifying glass. Also made me see that accepting the subtle suggestion of mediocrity directly reflects on our healing work! So mediocrity is or may be something to handle in treatment. Thank you to everyone else’s loving & helpful comments too. And Rose, thank you for claiming that truth for us, as you did.
This is excellent! Thank you!!
Thank you Evan, and thank you all for the comments, article & talk. Loved the picture of the rising bread and the thought of “rising” above mediocrity.
From “Rise above the world’s view” by Sue Palmer:
“As I prayed to see my situation spiritually, the answer came that the world’s view (or at least the prevailing real estate view) of how best to help people find or sell a home didn’t have to be my view. I was free to act in accord with the inspiration coming to me from God.”
