Spread peace, not fear

July 14, 2020 | 19 comments

There’s too much fear circulating in public thought these days on how to stay healthy and avoid infection.

To counter this fear and inspire more peace, I wrote an article for my local newspaper, the Tri-City Herald, that was published on July 11, 2020, titled, “God can still the storms of fear in this pandemic.”

  1. Knowing the Truth is being circulated in the general public is very exciting. “Peace, Be still!” will be my banner for today.
    Thank you, Evan.

  2. Dear Evan, thank you for today’s very helpful and comforting SpiritView! God is our comforter and saviour through His everpresent Christ in action in us all. I do need your wonderful truth ideas, and am very grateful for it!
Your comparison of the present special situation in the world with Christ Jesus’ stilling of the storm on the rough sea is very suitable and understandable – love that – thank you so much !

  3. Publicly giving reassurance that peace and confidence can overcome this constant declaration of disease is a tremendous gift. A gift to all who have read the article in the Herald.

Thank you for sharing this with all through the public issue of your hometown newspaper.
You have extended in the fashion of Mrs. Eddy’s day, for all to be blessed.
Surely the multitudes are in need of this shepherding truth.

It’s the reappearing of Christ, Truth in our experience and will surely bring forth healing.

The pandemic is a bad dream. Awakening is what is most needed. To find ourselves in the care of our Mother, Love. Your article has this effect for all people.

My hope is that it is syndicated and adopted by other new media, displacing the erroneous news and updates continually visited in all news media every day.

    Thank you, Evan

  4. This article/audio is so simply and powerfully beautiful – and HEALING! Thank you, Evan, for all your steadfast prayer, watch, work for Church and our world in so many ways, blessing all.

  5. Thank you Evan! Just imagine if that reaches and touches one person that believes they don’t have a choice in the fear-inducing floods of news or thinks fear and disease is the truth about life. Thank you for reaching out to the people in your community to offer a different perspective – a loving perspective. 🙂

  6. Your article is perfect Evan..enjoyed it very much. You are so fortunate to have a newspaper willing to print a spiritually based article like this which will reach many people who are not used to thinking of our relationship to God in this way. It will bless many I’m sure.❣️

    1. In Germany, in Hamburg and Berlin there are two Radiostations, who allow us to speak about Christian Science and it’s ideas abt. 5 to 10 minutes on Saturdays or Sundays about once a month . The Radiostation calls it “thoughts for the weekend.” We are happy for this opportunity. Church members write and then speak the article at the Radiostation. I think when we pray for right opportunities to give CS to the public with Love, God opens up good ways. With God all things are possible. 🙂

    1. Thank you for sharing your article. Are you able to respond to the two comments , Evan? They appeared reactionary, part of the seeming storm, but i am realizing Christ COMPLETELY stills the storm and can feel the gentle love that reassures the claims of doubt with the power of divine Love’s DEEP embrace!

      1. I don’t think the comments will be of much consequence. People have already read the article before the comments and if it has touched them they won’t be swayed by any negative comment. I was going to respond but by responding you allow Facebook to infringe your privacy. The one comment wasn’t too bad about the masks. And the other comment was just a negative comment about religion in general. I wonder why they even read the article in the first place! Ha! It will bless them weather they know it or not. Love has a way of melting hate. Great article Evan that will bless many. Thank you. (=

  7. Dear Evan,
Thank you so much for reaching out to your comm-unity. It’s such a beautiful, inspiring and HEALING sharing. It will not return to you void. We can all support the value of the article and its truth, and know that the atheism and materialism of our age cannot be attached to individuals. Evil may try to mock but it has no substance.
I love the verse from Ezekiel 36:26 Inclusive Bible, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. I will remove the heart of stone from your body and give you a heart of flesh.” So many dear ones will be blessed from your Christly sharing!!

  8. Your article should be acknowledged by media and quiet the
Storm of fear which seems to encompass the globe. Good work
for all faith based religions who worship OneGod.
    Thanks for all you do.

  9. In adding to my comment on pg 244 Micellaneus Writings by
MaryBaker Eddy”The teachings and demonstration of Jesus were for all peoples and for all time; not for a privileged class or a restricted period but for as any as should believe on him.” Just read that this a.m. Thought I would add this to your wonderful article.

  10. This must be what Jesus meant when he instructed his disciples to “ spread the word.”
Each day, your readers appreciate your words that uplift thought, as always.
    THANK YOU!

  11. Your article will certainly uplift those who feel despair amidst this crisis. Thankful for your work and outreach!
