Don’t be afraid to stand for what you believe in,

even if that means standing alone.

  1. Right on. Appropriate as usual, Evan. I posted two discussions on the C/S Website “Discussion Group.” That raised eyebrows. I am not being critical, but really, the ideas I wanted to express wasn’t that bad. They were only two. The first was the idea of using a TV drama of using C/S Prayer in solving a problem. The other, which caused much stress, was the idea of having a 3rd Testament or a MODERN TESTAMENT having the life of Mary Baker Eddy and her first followers. I had to ackweas because of the readers stress. I can’t get these two ideas out of my thought.
    Let God be the judge.

  2. Tobias; I think these are good concepts; however in these times, mortal mind would have a hay day ! Certainly honest seekers for Truth have the impulse to really seek !

  3. I believe a 3rd Testament revolving around Mrs Eddy would be just the pitfall we must avoid, and one which Mrs Eddy herself never wanted.Too many people have the misconception that we deify Mrs Eddy and that she and her writings have precedence over the Bible and Jesus and/or God, which leads ot lots of hostile and agressive criticism of Christian Science.
Mrs Eddy was not the second coming and it would be error to lose our focus on the Christ, the Bible as explained by Mrs Eddy as our only pastor.

  4. We have these things already available to us…there are videos on Mary Baker Eddy’s life, and many biographies, and her own autobiography, “Retrospection and Introspection,” which “testify” to Mrs. Eddy and her followers. All available to anyone who wants to find out more about her, her followers, the cause of Christian Science, and healing. Mrs. Eddy herself said that if one wished to know her, all one needed to do was read her writings, specifically, Retro and Intro. Let all honest seekers for Truth find what they are all hungering and thirsting for in the way Mrs. Eddy directed…through our pastors, the Bible, and Science and Health, and through the Church Manual.

  5. The Bible is complete just the way it is. Mary Baker Eddy once said that her book, Science and Health, would never have had to be written if the people sufficiently gleaned the spiritual meaning of the scriptures when they read the Bible.

Christian Science is marvelous in bringing out the spiritual meaning of the Bible which helps bring power to the Word.
