There is but one way to heaven, harmony, and Christ in divine Science shows us this way. It is to know no other reality — to have no other consciousness of life — than good, God and His reflection, and to rise superior to the so-called pain and pleasure of the senses.
~ Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 242
The pathway to heaven is not death. It’s spiritual consciousness, spiritual mindedness. It’s a path you can move rapidly down now! No waiting necessary.
Thank you, Evan for the heavenly message.
I see the pathway in the picture as leading to the
ocean of Love, with the birds of paradise soaring
overhead in the dawn of a new day ,unfolding in
the sunlight of Truth and `love, crowning God;s
eternal day.
Wonderful!
Thank you!
Love this
Death is not a “thing” but a “belief” that God is not eternal. Christly knowing is the way to destroy that false belief.
Yes!❣️
I like this. So true!
I love “ It’s a path you can move down rapidly now!” Let’s jump in that ocean of Love! Thanks, Evan and everyone for insightful ideas.
Thanks, John Qualtrough
Wow Evan…. Now who wouldn’t want to be on that noble pathway?! Thanks to you and your commenters on the lovely inspirations!
“Heaven here and now” By Janet Clements. From the October 2020 issue of The Christian Science Journal:

The healing demonstrated in the article is so complete and uplifting. Thank you for sharing it J.
From Hymn 64: verse 3
The way leads upward and its goal draws nearer, / Thought soars enraptured, fetterless and free; / The vision infinite to me grows clearer, / I touch the fringes of eternity.
Thank you J. Perfect accompaniment to Evan’s message today! We don’t have to go somewhere to get to heaven. “The kingdom of heaven is at hand / within you!” If we focus on the picture shared today we might get the idea we have to go somewhere to get to heaven. But if we focus on the last part of Evan’s message, it’s clear no waiting or change to some other location/realm is necessary.
Interestingly, last night I looked up references in Concord to “ascend” and “ascension.” The Bible when referring to ascension (see 2 Kings 2:11, Luke 24:50-53, Acts 1:9-11, Mark 16:19) depicts ascension as being transported up in the sky (i.e. the sky above being heaven). So it’s easy to get the wrong impression that heaven is some far off place up in the sky (or above earth) we have to “go to.” But here’s one thing Mrs. Eddy wrote about ascension:
In his resurrection and ascension, Jesus showed that a mortal man is not the real essence of manhood, and that this unreal material mortality disappears in presence of the reality.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 292:31)
That ties into the discussion yesterday about seeing ourselves as spiritual. Heaven is what we experience when the material/mortal viewpoint of life disappears and the true reality of God loving his idea (all of us and every thing) in perfect harmony comes to light.
We also learn from the glossary definition of eyes that “real eyes” is discerning in thought everything as spiritual. As we “realize” (discern) spiritual ideas as the reality, and discard the tares of basing life on matter, we are seeing with our “real eyes.” After thinking that we “realize” heaven (harmony) when we see with our “real eyes” (discern everything/everyone as spiritual) I looked up “real eyes” on JSHOnline and found an article that elaborates on that idea.
Better seeing

Thank you, Evan, for the daily inspiration that SpiritView provides. Some days, the inspiration is chock-full of new views to ponder and make our own – like today’s and yesterday’s for example. Every day, though, is a delicious spiritual concept and I thank you. RobertH, I would like to also thank you for the link you have shared today (and every sharing you offer) not only of various articles, but of what you have gathered from your own personal study. The article you shared today is monumentally helpful. Thank you.
Thank you Cheryl. I often think my comments are too “wordy” and after I made the comment today it occurred to me I could have simply written:
HEAVEN IS NOT A PLACE…IT’S SOMETHING YOU REALIZE…WITH YOUR REAL EYES (SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT)!!!
LOL In the past I’ve been happy when someone (like Rose) comments on my comment and in one sentence summarizes what I meant to convey much clearer than I did in multiple paragraphs. 🙂 But I enjoy everyone’s unique way of making their comments so maybe I’ll just keep being wordy me.
Ha haa! Yes, please. Continue being “wordy me.” It is much appreciated.
Hi Robert, it’s funny you mentioned me as able to summarize your comments in a shorter, clearer way, because I too have the feeling that my own comments can get too long and wordy. I do some work as a freelance editor and often I have to cut and simplify the writing of my client. It’s not always as easy to edit oneself. You did do a great job above of simplifying your original comment. But I agree with you that we should all freely express ourselves in our own natural and unique ways, and I always enjoy and appreciate your insights.
Thank you Robert for the insightful comments – not too long! – and for the good article. Very timely since a friend just had eye surgery.
J, once again you have shared the perfect companion article to Evan’s SpiritView. Thank you! (Janet has long been one of my favorite contributors to the periodicals.) I’m so grateful for this forum wherein we can share comments, articles, and ideas that enlighten. Thank you, Evan, J, and all!
Great article, thank you for posting it! It gives a perfect example of the citation above and Evan’s
Pathway. “There is but one way to heaven, harmony, and Christ in divine Science shows us this way. It is to know no other reality — to have no other consciousness of life — than good, God, and His reflection, and to rise superior to the so-called pain and pleasure of the senses.”
