What is influencing you

August 19, 2026 | 17 comments

When praying for healing, it can be helpful to ask, “What is influencing my thought?  Divine Mind or mortal mind?”

Since divine Mind is the healer of mental and physical suffering, the more we feel divine Mind’s influence, the better for us.  The faster healing happens.

I explain how to yield quicker to Mind’s healing influence in this vlog that was filmed near Cottonwood, AZ, in May 2026.

  1. What a wonderful, healing message today….thank you Evan. If we put God first , what comes second can only be a good outcome..
‘’I love Thy way of freedom Lord…to serve Thee is my choice..’’ a beloved hymn of mine.
I am so grateful for SV and the Love shown here.❣️

    1. On second thought I will share the whole hymn…number 136
I love Thy way of freedom lord
To serve Thee is my choice
In Thy clear light Of truth I rise
      And listening for Thy voice
I hear Thy promise old and new
That bids all fear to cease,
your presence still shall go with me and I will give thee peace,
Though storm or discord cross my path
Thy power is still my stay
Though human will and woe would check
      my upward soaring way
All Unafraid I wait the while Thy angels bring release
For still Thy presence is with me
And Thou dost give me peace
I climb with joy the heights of mind
To soar o’er time and space
I yet shall know as I am known
And see Thee face to face
Til time and space and fear are nought
      My quest shall never cease
Thy presence ever goes with me
And thou dost give me peace…..❣️

  2. Your wonderful blog today Evan brought to mind Mrs. Eddy’s important admonition in the “Church Manual”: “A Rule for Motives and Acts”! The last part especially, it says: “The members of this Church should daily watch and pray to be delivered from all evil, from prophesying, judging, condemning, counseling, influencing or being influenced erroneously.” (page 40) Isn’t it interesting to think about influencing or being influenced as evil?! It echos The Lord’s Prayer as well: “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” Page 16 in “Science and Health” expands on this, It says, the original text in the Bible was “Deliver us from the evil one”. It goes on to illuminate: “…for Christian Science teaches us that ‘the evil one’, or one evil, is but another name for the first lie and all liars” (page 16) The April 1996 Christian Science Journal article “Going deeper and healing the biggest lie” has helped me understand the lie we’re asking to be delivered from – the false belief of life in matter! Thanks dear Evan for another thought expanding post! Here’s the link – hope it’s shareable: https://journal.christianscience.com/shared/view/rbb0gglqb6?s=copylink

    1. Thank you Evan, and Sharon… this article is one of those ‘go-to, keeper’ pieces that I’ve returned to again and again over the years. There is so much to consider and deeply ponder, as Mr. Walden suggests. I’ll be sure to spend some time with it again today!

  3. Good Idea, dear Evan! (All of the ideas you encourage us with are good! God-inspired!)

My sincere desire is to listen only to ideas from the One Divine Intelligence, the only true and real Mind of us All. Reviewing my day yesterday, I see that some…non-Mind “suggestions” tried to make way into my thoughts, my day. Hmmm… what was the source of these, since divine Mind is All?
I conclude that these were…spurious…fake-mind…delusive/illusive suggestions…like “clouds without rain,” or water without wet. I shall now erase these powerless, meaningless, illusive … wisps of nothingness…not to be honored as ideas, real, true, intelligent ideas from our One all-loving Mind, God.

  4. So excellent! Goes right along with your most recent Sentinel Watch episode, which I listened to again yesterday. It is just FULL of healing truths. So inspiring and powerful. ❣️

  5. Love this vlog of Truth, dear Evan. So inspiring! Thank you so much.
It so clearly points out the direction we should always strive for –
the Mind of God, not our little “human” mind that can lead us down
a path of despair and in to the dregs of materiality. When we choose
the divine way, we do find peace, like the beautiful setting in the
photo above. No turbulence of matter to disturb our reflection of
Love’s pure expression. Thank you All for the inspiration gleaned
through your lovely comments, as well.
