In face of the many fears circulating in popular thought today about the potential of catching Covid-19, it’s critical to understand the truth about health.
Health is not a variable state of matter that is subject to a virus. Health is a state of Spirit that we reflect as children of God.
As Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “Health is not a condition of matter, but of Mind…” (Science and Health, p. 120).
Mind is Spirit, an all intelligent, wise and capable power that maintains health in man.
Jesus Christ knew the spiritual truth about health and was able to bring it out for the benefit of sick people all around him. Where health appeared to be physically absent, he made it spiritually appear. He understood that health came from God and was always present to manifest. The same truth applies to us today.
Our health is not affected by the body or what happens to the body. Our health is a gift from God that is held in place by divine Mind.
As a shining lightbulb radiates light into its environment, and no darkness can intrude upon it, we can radiate spiritual health in our environment and no disease will intrude upon it.
The spiritual truth about health negates human beliefs about disease.
So, stick with the truth about your health today! It’s not iffy, fickle, uncertain or subject to scary surprises. It’s certain, set, invincible, and fixed by God. It’s a permanent part of who you are, and is never lost.

SH 288:3 ~ “The suppositional warfare between truth and error is only the mental conflict between the evidence of the spiritual senses and the testimony of the material senses, and this warfare between the Spirit and flesh will settle all questions through faith in and the understanding of divine Love.”

What a blessing it is to have such a loving and caring God to commune
with, in such trying times as now, and encouraging words from you, Evan, to help lift the thoughts closer to the Truth.
Dear Peter, Because Mind, God, governs us we can tell the body what is going on not the other way around. Mrs. Eddy states in Science and Health “Thought passes from God to man, but neither sensation nor report goes from material body to Mind. The inter communication is always from God to His idea, man.” (p. 284:30) You can talk the body down “you have no power over me. God governs my every function and condition.” It really is a paradigm shift. When we recognize God’s complete control of the universe and man, we find body no longer has any control over us. We though Christ have control over it! We have to reverse the material belief that the body reports to mind our condition. That’s a lie! As Paul puts it in
II Corinthians 5:6,8 “Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and present with the Lord.” As we read Science and Health which opens up the spiritual meaning of the Bible, these things become clearer. Very interesting, thank you for sharing that poem. It does demonstrate that our thought can lead us to believe many things that have no truth in them. No reality. And thank you Evan for these many wonderful post reminding us of what is true.

Evan thank you for your perspective that health is a gift from God.. I find a statement from Mrs Eddy helpful in learning how to enjoy that gift.. She says “Health is the consciousness of harmony and of nothing else.”
That passage show me my role in maintaining good health..I must see and experience harmony at a time when the moral picture is political infighting and ramped fear..
Seeing harmony through the mortal mist of discord assures me of good health, well being and spiritual peace of mind..
Dear Evan, a number of years ago you gave a lecture in Maine. I kept my Science and Health with my notes from that lecture. I have always remembered your statement: “Don’t be a sponge. Be a light bulb!” Always an applicable statement, and of good use right now. I work at not absorbing ideas and attitudes floating around me, but to keep my light shining. Thanks for sharing your inspiration though these daily ideas.

Thank you Curran. Another good one from Evan is “Don’t be a thermometer, be a thermostat.” We control the atmosphere through understanding God’s ceetainty, it doesn’t control us. And if we aren’t being clear about this, then it’s our thought that needs to move, not another’s words or actions or anything we hear or see. Lately I have been equating it to waking up from a dream. I keep having vivid dreams, they seem so real, yet, they are nothing!
As I read this today the thought came to me that our health is already a done deal – Genesis 1 – so can’t be affected by anything as it can’t change. I know it’s not always easy to understand that as it often feels just the opposite, but we learn in CS that we have to start with God – perfect God and perfect man as the basis of thought and demonstration. I also love in section 4 of this week’s lesson where we read “Let not the flesh, but the Spirit, be represented in me”. Even Jesus struggled! Thank you Evan for another wonderful message!

I have been (when I remember to) look at the people and shopping centre as I get out of the car and see everyone as being in the atmosphere of Divine Love which is pure and uncontaminated.

We do NOT live and move in a material environment filled with fear and disease..we live and move in the consciousness of God.This fact established in thought destroys the opposing false belief. and reveals our inviolate safety
