The income that never dries up

April 8, 2020 | 41 comments

With massive layoffs and business shutdowns over recent weeks, millions of people are wondering how they are going to pay the bills. It helps to know that one is not alone in answering that question. God is with you!

God has amazing ways of meeting human needs. What the human mind cannot figure out, the divine Mind can make work out.

God is an all-knowing, all-wise Mind that has a solution to every problem we face.

When we stay prayerfully in-tune to the divine Mind, and listen for divine direction, spiritual ideas come that lead to actions and experiences that translate into human needs met, and often in ways we never would have foreseen on our own.

Mary Baker Eddy wrote,

“God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies. Never ask for tomorrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment” (Misc. Writings, p. 307).

You have divine income. It’s coming abundantly in your direction this moment! Stay in an attitude of gratitude and you will hear what you need to know to get the bills paid.

The best income of all is what you receive from God. It never dries up, and it’s sufficient to meet the need of the moment.

  1. It’s 4:28am here in Florida. I’m up, still working on a very strong claim. This very understanding of God as the source of all supply is what keeps coming to thought. What I seem to be stuck on is whether the help I have been offered is from God or not. With God, needs are met without leaving any residual expectation. If I’d been led to some place or someone and a need was filled there by God, after demonstrating gratitude and paying it forward, there should not be any lingering animosity or negative feeling of any sort. I still yearn to know, to really see, everyone, all the time, as God’s reflection, including myself. Mary Baker Eddy says “Mortals have the sum of being to work out.” I like that. Back to work now. All really is well, afterall.

    1. “I’m up, still working on a very strong claim.”

Mrs Eddy said, she worked best when she got Mary out the road first. (no ref, apologies)

God IS this need, met, whatever it is.
As in our health being an eternal state of infinite being.
This need met is also met eternally.

“From the Love and from the light and harmony which are the abode of Spirit, only reflections of good can come” Science and Health pg 280

Have you ever listened to any of Dr Laurence Doyle’s talks? Like Evan, he has a very refreshing approach.

      Much love.

      1. Shelagh,
Are you referring to page 23 in We Knew Mary Baker Eddy she says “All that I have ever accomplished has been done by getting Mary out of the way, and letting God be reflected. When I would reach this tone, the sick would be healed without a word.”

        1. Thanks Kirsten for the whole quote. Yes, “getting Mary out of the way” letting personal responsibility go, i see as my need. Personal responsibility for my health, wealth, and well being…and “letting God be reflected” which is effortless, immediate, and true to the original. (=

  2. Dear Eternal Love, your name says it all, as does your heart-yearning message. My own heart overflows with gratitude for the Great Good-Giver we know as our Mother and Father— or, as I like to think of our heavenly parent, Mommy and Daddy. It sounds as though you’ve heard your answer. Today’s Daily Lift may be the punctuation you’re waiting for!
    Love

  3. When I saw the title the word income came as,
“The in-come that never dries up.”
The in coming of God never dries up.
God is always coming in, always fresh, new with
abundant ideas of our daily supply of good.
Thanks again God, expressed as Evan and all who
    come-in with new ideas.
    Our daily, in-come.

    1. Lovely why of phrasing, dear M. I agree whole-heartedly with Evan’s sentence: “What the human mind cannot figure out, the divine Mind can make work out.” This has been my experience many times. One time when I was virtually broke, the most amazing things worked out. Yielding to God’s will, not always easy, truly opens the flood gates of infinite supply. But I found I needed to listen, and put my own idea of what should happen totally away.

  4. Divine Love’s income is the sure guarantee of a good outcome! Thank you, Evan and all you “first responders” for the blessings you’re scattering on today’s path of “Love’s divine adventure to be All-in-all.” More fully: “We live in an age of Love’s divine adventure to be All-in-all.” (My 158:9-10). Such a helpful true perspective isn’t it! None of Love’s times are a burden. Love, surprise me with the details of the adventure that is today!

  5. Thank you dear Evan for the ever-flowing “translation” of ideas back into Spirit that goes on at this “Place” we all love to hang out at.
A lovely way of putting the mortal “sense’ of self out of the way was presented to me today:
“Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less.”
Thank you all for so lovingly demonstrating that “Spiritual sense is a conscious, constant capacity to understand God” ~. sufficiently for us all to see. [SH 209:31]

  6. Thank you all for sharing such wonderful awareness of God’s abundance. My in-come this morning came as the Manual 41:19 prayer. “Thy kingdom come;” let the reign of divine Truth, Life and Love be established in me, and rule out of me all sin; and may Thy word enrich the affections of all mankind, and govern them!

  7. Thank you Evan and to all commenters for your uplifting thoughts every morning, so very helpful.

  8. Thank you Evan! So true – we are seeing companies thrive that are meeting the new needs of people wanting their groceries delivered! They have an abundance of work and all that they are doing is helping their neighbor and being alert to ways to do that. That is listening to what Love is telling them and then expressing that love by helping their neighbor. It is fun to see it in action and to in fact be a part of that expression of love!
    Much love to everyone!

  9. Affluence, to me it’s the confidence of having enough.
“Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need.”
As child in a family with ten children there was hardly enough. We lived in an unfinished
home. There were no partitions. There was no plumbing nor electricity. It was a roof! It had windows And dad fashioned doors for the front and rear out of boards and steel band hinges.
He found a pot bellied stove to heat the front room, My older brothers cut up trees from around the neighborhood to keep the place warm, till somehow dad came up with package coal.
Water came from the next door neighbor’s garden hose.
I went to work when only 9 years old on a newspaper route. No dinner on the table was frequent, and when it was it was usually mac & cheese from the welfare department.
Children don’t really know as they happily play and try to please their mother by being good,

There would be no unhappiness in the world if it weren’t for comparison. Children in thought have nothing to compare their surroundings. All they know is love, and togetherness.
Let’s continue to be grateful children and appreciate our life and the Love we have. And continue to please our Mother, God by being Good!

    1. Thank you so much, David, for sharing your story, your insights, and your love! The way you expressed them will indeed help me to be more humble and grateful.

  10. The cosmos lacks for nothing, It doesn’t lack for each one of us, as we are apart of it, sufficient in every way. Along with that so is our every thought of need. God did make a partial cosmos lacking for this or that substance, if that were so, it would have failed on that lack long ago, But rather, because it lacks for nothing, we can have confidence that our need will be supplied. There is no lack of divine love, there is no lack of goodness, no lack of compassion for these are the tares of thought that reflect not the true reality.

  11. I love the thought of staying in “an attitude of gratitude” and not telling God how things should be worked out. His plan is so much better than we could ever have, As I heard many years ago and need to keep reminding myself: “Let go and let God.” Thank you, Evan, and everyone with their replies.

  12. Like springtime coming into view whether we like it or not, whether we’re ready or not, that’s our income, in-come, it’s coming. We’re never to fear or doubt if it’s supply or spring, it’s coming. “Look again, harvest time is surely here”.

  13. I Love the Abundance of Good shared here, helping each other in our journeys
toward understanding! It gives such a gentle feeling of caring and peace and
kindness towards each other in our individual challenges and the meeting of
these challenges through the Truth and Love expressed here. I am certain that
the collective prayers coming together from around the world are indeed helping
to bring us to a Better place with our needs being met more spiritually and showing
us what is most important in Life. In the US, here, I appreciate the calming
messages of hope and the working towards practical ways to help individuals that
come from our President who has a background in business. His daily press conferences can be supported by our prayers for the good of all, bringing about
the ideas that will help solve these challenges.

  14. Regarding supply, I remember an incident that occured years ago while I was still in High School. I had just returned from visiting a friend and found myself in an airport parking lot a few $ short of what was needed to leave. I did not have a credit card nor could I think of a way to resolve this without inconvenience to someone (such as having to call my parents). Although raised in Christian Science, I did not feel that I deserved special provision earned from daily devoutness – my attitudes definitely needed some improvment. But still, trust that a solution would be provided returned. Within a few minutes of pacing around the parking lot while waiting for a thought to occur, I noticed a woman sitting in a car experiencing some physical difficulty. I went to investigate and she told me that while trying to reach a bag in the back seat she somehow trapped her arm between the front seat and the sidepost of the car. By rotating her elbow a little I was able to help free her. She was very grateful of course and wanted to repay me somehow. Well, Ha!, I explained I did have a small difficulty myself and that a loan of about $5 would resolve it. Although surprised, she happily provided what was needed.
In reviewing this incidient, a couple of takeaways come to mind:
    1) All the thinking involved took place very quickly – no prayers exactly or lengthy mental arguments.
    2) Trust that a solution would be provided and therefore a loss of fear regarding the particular physical situation.
I am certain that it is at the moment that fear leaves that consciousness can move to a different state where resolution of the problem becomes evident.

  15. Goodness and philanthropy begin with work and never stop working. All that is worth reckoning is what we do, and the best of everything is not too good, but is economy and riches. … A deep sincerity is sure of success, for God takes care of it.
(The First Church of Christ, Scientist and Miscellany, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 203:8–11, 18–19)

“mortals are hastening to learn that Life is God, good, and that evil has in reality neither place nor power in the human or the divine economy.”
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 327:17)

  16. Thank you Evan, and thank you all who commented. Such a wealth of inspiring ideas “The income that never dries up” to meet our present needs. (=

  17. Remember king a time I was teaching the 23rd Psalm to my son( about 5 yrs at thin s time). The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.. He innocently respondedThe lord is mommy’s shepherd , Inshall not want!

What a lesson, I learned that day! An unselfish release and knowing my sons needs were just as important as mine. I laughed but since then
Have interpreted the =23rd Psalm thus “The Lord is myShepherd, I shall not be in want”. God supplies our needs sometimes in most unexpected ways. Keep happy.this Easter….

    1. Just came to me, perhaps, that’s how my 23 year old daughter learned it also!!!! Very funny thought, one I will be pondering now that you’ve shared it. She’s not in New Mexico anymore, she’s in California, but distance hasn’t stopped the wanting!!!! May have to reteach that lesson to my daughter, and expect results direct from my Shepherd. Thank you MJ

  18. I’m so grateful for the uplifting comments and stories shared this on Spirit views.
God has led me to be fiscally responseable from an early age for some reason.Over the years I have been able to help employees, friends and relatives with money. Some paid me back others not so much. I have come to the conclusion that God has directed the whole thing and leave self out of the equasion. Now I’m struggling with weather or not to take advantage of the SBA, loans offered,to businesses, which will be foegiven? God Will direct me!I love Christian Science!

  19. From by Dorothy Rieke, 1969 lecture Wonderful Things are Happening

“Begin with the infinitude of God’s goodness. Remember that His resources are infinite.”

    The Spiritual Economy is unlimited!

  20. God supplies all needs is something I have demonstrated over and over throughout. One cute and special remembrance was many years ago when my husband returned to college and it seemed we were struggling a bit financially, a little girl came to the door selling chances for her church. My husband gave her the last dollar in his wallet because she was so cute and forthright. We both knew that “Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need” (MBE) Two days later we got a call that we had won $50. We had 3 children and needed to get grocery’s. That blessing took us to the next pay period. I am still cared for and this SV blog really says it all. Thanks Evan and all who commented so beautifully.

  21. Thank you very much, dear Evan for these very timely truths of your so comforting today’s SpiritView!
At first, I love to pray with Mrs. Eddy’s wonderful words from Miscellanious Writings mentioned above here. Then there is standing out this sentence, Evan gives us here,I. e. “God is.an all-knowing, all-wise Mind that has a solution for every problem we.face.” I became well aware that this all-knowing and all-wise Mind cannot else but have the perfect solution to each of our needs. And what Evan says, we just have prayerfully to listen to divine Mind’s thoughts and guidance. And very important, too is, to stay in an Attitüde of Gratitude and we will be fully aware of God’s loving.guidance!
Thank you dear SpiritView friend’s for your interesting and inspired comments, This Blog of Evan is such a comforting, blessing and healing one, thanks a lot for it!

  22. I have been studying to know the Truth about supply and demand. My focus has been to stand porter at the of thought and never allow doubts to enter my thoughts. To me this is animal magnetism rearing its ugly head to claim reality. We are all God’s children, never lacking. Evan, I like what you said about attitude of gratitude and Mary Baker Eddy’s statement on page 307 in Misc. Writings. It is what I will focus on. Thank you

  23. What a wonderful day! I got out of my own way, went absent from the body and stayed close to God. As the day unfolded all my needs were met in surprising and unexpected ways. I was so filled with gratitude that tears flowed, That false sensation still thinks it’s more powerful than God, but I know the truth about that imposter. I worked, hard, aaall day, and I intend to sleep peacefully aaaall night. Many Thanks to all who lovingly responded to my note and Thank you, Evan, for these daily gems.

  24. Thank you for the inspiration, Evan!

I’ve tried to believe in God as my source of supply for years, I’ve really worked diligently with this idea. Still, I’ve only ever had a very small income and now I’m left with no income to speak of.
I wonder why this is so – what am I doing wrong? What could I do better?

Does this spiritual principle truly work for others in a pratical way?

  25. Thank you very inspiring. My heart has been going out to all those who are unemployed now. These are perfect ideas to work with.

  26. I’m so grateful to be demonstrating this!!!!! I came up with an idea for a zoom class and its almost all filled! I have sold 89 seats! I see a way of earning money doing what I love and I feel soo beyond grateful and give all the credit to GOD!
