With God, there are no layoffs. Just move forwards.
God is the Head Employer of all employees. He puts us where He needs us and creates positions for us to thrive in. He knows the talents and skills we have to offer and puts them to good use.
A company may lay you off, but that doesn’t mean you are laid off from continuing to demonstrate usefulness, value and worth. The good you embody is in high demand.

The Truth continues where ever we’re “working”, as I’ve been an employee placed in multiple “places” where I’ve been needed.
Many times I’ve listened for where God leads me, One door closes and another one has opened. For instance, I’d passed the swim test down south, then was given proof which I carried with me, as I moved from the south the the north, where during that first summer in Cleveland, Ohio, at a visit to the city’s employment office I applied for a “waterfront counselor’s” position. My Certification as a waterfront counselor caused me to be offered a position, at a Girl Scout camp where “girls” selected from the inner city, attended a beautiful and rustic two week session at the camp for girls, some of whom had never even visited Lake Erie. These campers may have experienced inner city death threats during riots in the city, but that summer, I taught them, so they learned how to swim in water over their heads. What followed that was entrance to a master’s degree program offered by a college nearby, which was training to be a class room teacher in the inner city school system . God had led the entire way.

A few decades ago when I was working full time for a company things had turned very unpleasant. The thought came: What is the worst thing that can happen to me? Following that came “to get fired.” In actuality, that was not so awful.
Some weeks later I submitted my resignation and left the company on my own. That same weekend my husband and I attended our state’s trade show for his existing business and right there, waiting for me (in God’s time), was an enthusiastic manufacturer rep who offered to get me set up with a couple of companies. That happened quickly and put me into a whole new field of work which was much more suited for me and which turned out to be a new business that was complementary to the one hubby and I already owned.
Did that new business turn out to be “a bed of roses?” Of course not, but it did use talents that I had not used before in any paid job and gave me more opportunities to be artistically creative and to help people develop a pleasing home atmosphere and that in itself was a great reward.
Now, in my old age, I tend to get worrisome and impatient and I have to work sometimes to remember that God Does Provide (always did!) – even the seemingly small and almost insignificant things – what we need, not what we think we want. Blessings and Peace to all.

After reading Larry’s comment (on yesterday’s blog), I was reminded of a
similar experience I had years ago. An elderly friend had called me very
upset that she was blocked from using her driveway where she had hired
to have gravel brought in, as it was very steep and muddy. She was not
well off. It turned out when I went to help calm her down, that instead of
slowly letting the gravel out of the truck on the way down the hill, it was
dumped in one large pile. This mountainous pile looked insurmountable
when I walked around it to help calm her down. She did not have money
to pay someone to help her. In correspondence with the topic of today,
where our job is to demonstrate usefulness, I offered to help spread the gravel
out so she could access her driveway again. I didn’t really know if I had the
strength to do too much, but realized it wasn’t me that was doing, and
as Larry mentioned, not brain, blood, bones, or other material elements. I
started shoveling the gravel into a wheelbarrow and little by little the pile
became smaller and I was able to help this dear friend. She was surprised
when she came out of her house to see that I could do this job in helping her
and was ever so grateful. She, at one point, had said she didn’t know how she
would get it done and maybe she would have to do it herself. I couldn’t let her
do that, so took on the challenge. This just proves that with God’s help – all things
are possible. Sometimes patience is needed to not see an issue as insolvable and
seeing it as a large mountain to be moved, but to little by little achieve more
and more of God’s plan and with spiritually thinking, get the job done.

It reminds me how very grateful I can be and am for my Father-Mother God’s very loving guidance during my whole life. I’m very aware through prayer and Evan’s so inspiring SpiritView Blog about God’s lovingly , abundant care. I got aquainted with the 3 larges cities, Hamburg (my hometown), Berlin and Munich. In all dwellingplaces I found beautiful homes and interesting Jobs where I learned a lot.
