Don’t be needy

Have you ever felt needy?
Aw, the wants and lusts of mortal mind come in so many different forms…

“I need more money.”
“I need more attention from my spouse.”
“I need to lose weight.”
“I need to get that promotion.”
“I need to get out of here.”
“I need a pill.”

And the list of “I need this or I need that,” grows and grows in the mind of the individual not understanding his or her completeness in God.
Jesus Christ came to save humanity from needy thinking. He turned attention away from looking for happiness and success in things of the world or through personal sense to seeking one’s joy in the things of the Spirit. “Follow me to heaven,” he commanded in so many words and ways.
Heaven is not an idealized state of matter, an ideal human relationship, or a mortal status of any kind. These are all temporal and fleeting.
Heaven is Truth, divine Love. There is no need in heaven. There is no lack in living a spiritual life.
So, whatever it is that you think you need in this world, the opportunity is to turn from that worldly want and discover what you already have in Spirit.
In spiritual consciousness, there is no feeling of need. There is only fulfillment, completeness, joy, health and wholeness.

The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” ~Jesus Christ

  1. Thank you, Evan. This goes right along with the 23rd Psalm, which says “I shall not want…” Why?, because “The Lord is my Shepherd.”
