Thank you so much for the reminder, Evan. This promise from God is one of my favourite Bible promises; and it’s repeated threefold!
In the above verse Moses tells it to Joshua. God tells it to Joshua directly, Joshua 1:5 “I’ll be with you. I won’t give up on you; I won’t leave you.” (The Message). Then Paul reminds the Hebrews of it, Heb 13:5 quoting the O.T. “God assures us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” (The Message)
God kept showing me one or other of these verses in very unusual ways just after my mother passed on, leaving me in no doubt I was being reassured my heavenly Parent would always be there. If I should forget, reminders come like Evan’s one today, and in this week’s lesson, too…
God is always reminding us.

Yes I also loved hearing that we can “lean hard” on God’s help and let it sustain us – and not lean on what mortal mind says.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart
And ‘lean not’ unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge Him
And He shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
