In earth as in heaven

July 2, 2026 | 20 comments

Jesus Christ taught his followers to pray to God, “Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).

I love this prayer because it reminds me that whatever God wills in heaven, God wills on earth.

God blesses everyone in heaven with understanding and wisdom.  God wills the same to everyone on earth.

God blesses everyone in heaven with love and care.  God wills the same for everyone on earth.

God blesses everyone in heaven with love and attention.  God wills the same for everyone on earth.

God blesses everyone in heaven with reliable health and life.  God wills the same for everyone on earth.

We don’t have to die and pass on to receive God’s blessings.  They are present on earth to receive now.

“Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”  Enjoy living out God’s will here and now.

  1. That is so beautifully and clearly put, Evan. Thank you as ever.

I was considering the picture and all the bubles to see what
inspiration I could find, and the
thought came to be to look up the words “bubbling up” and this is
    what it says”

“The phrase “bubble up” typically means to rise to the surface, grow stronger, or become obvious. It is used both literally (like effervescence or water seeping upward) and metaphorically (to describe surfacing emotions, fresh ideas, or emerging news).”

Any other ideas from the pictue?

    1. To coincide with Evan’s message, I see the above picture, like
raindrops to quench a thirsty garden or to refresh a parched
farmland that needs watering. To me, I see the droplets coming
from heaven to nourish flowers and beauty on earth. Or looking
at it from the other perspective of “bubbling up”, it could be like
the “chemicalization” as Mrs. Eddy writes, “By chemicalization I
mean the process which mortal mind and body undergo in the
change of belief from a material to a spiritual basis” and also,
“What I term cheicalization is the upheaval produced when immortal
Truth is destroying erroneous mortal belief. Mental chemicalization
brings sin and sickness to the surface, forcing impurities to pass away,
as is the case with a fermenting fluid”.
And to keep with Evan’s theme, heaven, God blesses everyone in
      Heavenly ways here on earth.

      1. Thank you, Angel – that s lovely. I am sorry I didn’t come to conclusion to correspond with Evan’s topic of doing God’s will. But your vision is beutifu.l. Maggie x

  3. Thank you, Evan.

God’s will is now, ever present. No illusion of time can interfere with the perfection of God and no false belief can block God’s allness — for one and all.

  4. I woke up thinking: Heaven IS within! (but… so is so-called “hell”.)
I felt verbally “attacked” by someone I love and help quite often last night. Then when I got home a short while later, pulling around the corner to my driveway, I could hear and feel bass pounding coming from some neighbors blocks away. I had already been struggling to see and know only good about my friend and here awaited a similar challenge. I was tired and it was already nearly 9 pm. I prayed at first for God to quiet the noise for all of us who wish to have peace, for the neighborhood. Then I prayed to open the hearts of those causing the raucous to realize that they were disturbing “our” peace. Then I got frustrated at God because it had been 10 minutes already with no response to my prayer.
So I did what any practicing Christian Scientist would do, I got as still as I could, given the state of mind attempting to highjack me, and asked God “What do you want ME to know right now in order that I may have peace?”
It came to me that Heaven is within. (I felt like I was in hell.) I changed my prayer to a more loving, understanding view of whoever was partying, since, in my younger days, I too had ignorantly enjoyed a rambunctious turning up. As for my friend, I know she loves me and may have been trying to work something out herself, so I let any negative thoughts and feelings that had been trying to hide the Truth about her slime away to their “native nothingness” as MBE calls it.
I knew that heaven was within and that I could either choose peace and joy or sit miserably with torment and suffering. I chose Joy. In the event that this experience should pop up again, I will be prepared.
The apostle Paul did not see suffering as a punishment, but as a refining process. He taught that troubles build endurance, which leads to steadfast character and unshakeable hope. Also, Isaiah 30:20 teaches: “And though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, Yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, But your eyes shall see your teachers.
I do not like being caught off guard. I must learn to practice and let it become my shield, to “Stand porter at the door of thought. Admitting only such conclusions as you wish realized in bodily results, you will control yourself harmoniously” . SH 392.
Heaven truly IS within. All the accumulation of wrong thinking, reacting, and choosing to be miserable in a situation beyond my control is a hell of my own construction. In 2 Corinthians 4:17, we are told “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”
    Today I choose Joy.
It’s called practice for a reason. I can no longer afford to be lazy, expecting a simple prayer of “Make this easy for ME” to instantly change hell into heaven. Both “places” are states of Mind. I simply ask “Which state am I choosing to Live in? Reality, or make-believe?”

  5. Amen. A joy when we realize and discover the direction we truly need to take to be free and see and feel harmony and peace within by loving God AND our neighbor AS ourself and then seeing the harmonious and peaceful results around us. Thank you for sharing, Linda! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you Evan and everyone who has shared today.

  6. Thank you Evan. I’ve heard it said that if it’s not going on in heaven, then it can’t be going on in earth. In other words, there can be only one right idea of anything (heaven), and so that’s all that is going on – period. And as Evan put it in his lecture, The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand (Matthew 3:2), and is as close as your hand.

  7. The photo can represent the quenching, good, true thoughts of God, coming down at just the right time in the right way, that we can understand — to help heal the need of the moment.

    1. thank you very much. dear Rose for your loving and needed metaphysical explanation! It’s very comforting and healing! ♡

  8. Thank you and blessings to you all! Especially thanx bunches for the article on the Lord’s Prayer, which meets all human needs.

  9. How wonderful, I am also very grateful for your so comforting and healing SpiritView today, dear Evan! I’m very happy about your forelast paragraph where you say: “We don’t have to die and pass on to receive God’s blessings. They are present on earth to receive now.” Thank you very much for this loving asurance of Truth that our Father-Mother God is constantly blessing all His loved children!
Actually we are already in heaven, just now! ♡
