In need of more love?

September 14, 2026 | 13 comments

Do you ever feel like you’re running out of love to share with another person who is hard to get along with?  Or running out of love to share because that’s just how you feel?

There’s a way to find generous love again.

I write about how to keep on loving when it’s tempting to quit, in an article published in my local newspaper, The Tri-City Herald, titled, “Discover an infinite love that never runs, not ever” (September 13, 2026).

  1. That is lovely, Evan. Thank you. What a lovely message to your community,
    and for us.

It made me think of the following hymn

    As sings the mountain stream,
    Past rock and verdure wild,
So let me sing my way to Thee,
    Thy pure and happy child.

    O boundless source of might,
    My praise must e’er increase,
    For Love is Life eternally,
    Whose blessings never cease.

    I sing my way today,
    My heart is joyous, free,
For what is Thine is ever mine,
    I find myself in Thee.
    (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 16:1–3)

  2. Thank you Evan.
Love is something you give, not something you get.
As they say, you can’t receive with a closed fist. so, love (which is substance) comes to the giving heart.
    My thought.

  3. Perfect Evan…a Love filled lesson . Of course , just like the free flow of Love from our Father, come the free flow of health, understanding, beauty, ….the list of good bestowed on us is endless ….❣️

  4. beautiful, Evan. Thank you!
just an FYI that was overlooked when typing …Be sure to add the word out to the title 🙂
    much love to all

  5. Thank you! It reminds me of a favorite hymn#148

    In heavenly love abiding
No change my heart shall fear
    For safe is such confiding
    for nothing changes here
The storm may roar without me
My heart may low be laid
But God is round about me
    And can I be dismayed?

    Wherever He may guide me,
No want shall turn me back
    My Shepherd is beside me
    And nothing can I lack
    His wisdom ever waketh
    His sight is never dim
He knows the way He taketh
And I will walk with Him

    Green pastures are before me
Which yet I have not seen
Bright skies will soon be o’er me
    Where darkest clouds have been
    My hope I cannot measure
My path in life is free
    My Father has my treasure
And He will walk with me.

  6. Hi Evan. Thank you for this wonderful article. In your message above, you entitled the link as “Discover an infinite love that never runs, not ever”. You omitted the word “out”. (…never runs out, not ever).

  7. A lovely message, filled with inspiration, as are the comments! Thank you, All.
I recall an elderly friend years ago, who had lived next to a beautiful
stream all of her life, being really depressed when the stream was only a
trickle. She said that if the stream dried up, she wanted to move. I assured
her that it would not dry up. Actually a few days after, there was a hurricane,
which was unusual for that area, but there was so much rainfall, that the
banks were overflowing! It is like God’s Love for us – never ending and always
pouring forth in a never ending stream. Like the ocean waves that constantly
keep coming, Love is showering us with eternal Goodness.

  8. I just love that your articles are published in your local paper! I’m sure they’re a blessing to so many people. ❣️

  9. Thanks so very much Evan. Yes so true God’s love never runs out and supplies the needs of
each and everyone in this whole wide world. And as God’s reflections we too don’t run out of love, the more we give, the more we receive. After all it’s not we, but God who works in us and inspires, illumines, designates an leads out way..
