Learn to be invincible

The fearless thought is invincible.

Jesus Christ was fearless, which empowered him to always come out on top of
adversity even when assaulted by the worst of enemies. His fearlessness made him invincible.

  1. Thank you for this encouraging message! We read in Science and Health on page 410 ‘Christian scientific practice begins with Christ’s keynote of harmony, “Be not afraid!”. In spiritual understanding there is nothing, no false sense of self, for sin, disease and death to attach themselves to. That is why we are forever removed from them and are forever free.

    1. Thank you Evan for this poser. And thank you Eleanor for sharing your insight. I especially loved your comment: “There is no false sense of self, for sin, disease and death to attach themselves to.” That really struck home for me. I always read your postings just before I head to bed, Evan and they are a wonderful end to my day on which to rest my thought on. Thank you!

  2. Thank you, Evan!! And thank you, Eleanor and Fay!

Sometimes, our thinking can get a bit too abstract. At these times, we might wonder: “If God is All, why concern ourselves with healing? If there is nothing but God and God’s reflection, why must we make any effort at all?”

Living in a fear-based mentality is like living in a house that’s dark because all the shutters are drawn. The sun is shining, but it’s up to us to let in the light!

      1. Thank you, Jay – that is an uplifting thought – sometimes we need those reminders, which I do right now. I will draw open the shutters and let in the light.

    1. I love that analogy Jay, thank you. We don’t have to create the power but we have to apply it to any challenge we face.

    2. A lecture our church just presented was very helpful.
One thing the speaker told us was that fear can be overcome by letting in the light of Truth that Jesus taught us .It is
..like putting up,the window blinds and letting in the light. So now ,when I raise the blinds I will
be feeling this Truth shining on our family.

  3. Thanks dear Evan, so needed that reminder!
Christ Jesus said: “fear not little flock, for it is your Father`s good pleasure, to give you the Kingdom (of heaven)”. That means God gives us dominion over all iniquities, as He did to Christ Jesus. Such wonderful and comforting truth.

  4. When we truly feel and understand that God, good, is All-in-all, fear vanishes. We trust His omnipotence and omnipresence and are invincible. Thanks for all your comments this morning!

  5. Thank you Evan and all SV family. What a complete sense of courage, faith, and understanding Christ Jesus had in order to face any challenge presented to him without being afraid. I’m so grateful we have his example to strive for. Fear can really trip us up sometimes. How wonderful to know that we all can come to the understanding that there really is nothing to fear. Wow!
Last fall my life completely changed on many levels (by choice). I recently remembered that days before the move and changes were set into motion while on walk the angel message clear as day assured me that “there wouldn’t be anything that I really would need to be afraid of.” I might feel afraid or have to work through some fear but that idea that in reality there wouldn’t be anything to fear. It was so comforting and assuring. And the greatest part, it’s real and true. A promise straight from God to all of us!

I have referred to it many times recently, but want to share again a wonderful talk regarding fear by Carol Dee Lewis, “Healing: Because There is No Fear in the Allness of Love”

    1. Thanks for the link. That is a strong and very helpful article. I have re-read it a number of times, and always healing thoughts.

  6. There seems to be a subtle difference between the statement “his fearlessness made him invincible” and what Daphne is saying, “When we truly feel and understand that God, good, is All-in-all, fear vanishes.” Many of us repress our fears but are unconscious to Christ, and thus are not under the protection of the very God we think we are worshiping. Does it work both ways?

    1. Repressed fears would not be fearlessness. It might look like it on the surface, but that would be illusion. So, we do have to be honest as to whether we’re just “manning up,” and still holding fears, or genuinely filled with Love’s presence that knows no fear.

      1. Hi Evan, thanks for your clear and very helpful response. Now, for me, it stands to reason; fear is a mortal belief and invinciblity is a Spiritual Truth. In the way you explain it, scientifically, it proves out and works both ways.

  7. You have given
    Self to God.
    Suddenly things
    Make sense…
    Now you can be
    There
    And Here
    At the same time.

    The effect:
    Healing for all.
    Not because of
    Where the sick are,
    But because
    You have come to See
    Where you have
    Always been.

    1. Thank you, Maximo, for your inspiring poem . The last three lines let me end up with the truth, that we have always been actually in the harmonious spiritual realm of divine Love.

Thank you Evan for your clarification to Kenny’s comment. The comforting thoughts came to me, that Christ is our Master healer and teacher for ever!

And thank you all for the inspired comments.

    1. My pleasure to share. I continue to get so much from it. Listening to it is very powerful as well as reading it.

  8. Thanks so much Trista for the link to that very inspiring and helpful article. Though I have read it before some time ago, a refresher is certainly helpful and welcome.

  9. Thank you Evan for this powerful message reminding us of Christ Jesus’ example of not letting fear break down his absolute trust in God. And he was invincible!
I looked on dictionary.com to see the word INVINCIBLE. It means incapable of being conquered, defeated or subdued. Some other words related to this are: unassailable, untouchable, invulnerable, unbeatable, indomitable, irresistible, bulletproof, inviolable, powerful, strong, unconquerable
Thanks all for your comments, and Maximo’s poem. So very helpful! Happy Easter to all!

  10. Thank you so much, Joy, for the definitions of INVINCIBLE. They are such helpful explanations of how untouchable we are from material threats to our well-being.
