Safe wherever you go

January 14, 2021 | 28 comments

Many people worry about walking around in public, traveling on airplanes, and being near other people for fear of catching Covid. From a medical point of view, the reason for fear is obvious, for the medical reasoning teaches that viruses may be present and contagious.

However, the medical view is not the final verdict on what is true and what is not true. It is a very constricted perspective that excludes spiritual reality from its reasoning, and thus fails to see that one can demonstrate protection from contagion when in a right state of mind.

Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “A calm, Christian state of mind is a better preventive of contagion than a drug, or than any other possible sanative method; and the “perfect Love” that “casteth out fear” is a sure defense”
(Misc. Writings, p. 229).

If moving around in public where the virus may be present, “A calm, Christian state of mind,” will neutralize that virus and render it harmless.

Instead of capitulating to fear, rise in a consciousness of the omnipotence and omnipresence of Love, conquer that fear, and go forth with a clear understanding that you are walking around in God’s universe where divine Love is ever-present to keep you and your neighbor healthy, strong, and well. Have no fear of a virus. Rather, honor God’s power and presence and demonstrate safety in a consciousness of Truth.

In a right state of mind, you can do what you need to do without fear. You can be safe wherever you go.

  1. Thank you Evan. Instills in me that there is no separation between God and myself as His reflection. As such I only experience health and happiness being part of Gods Universe. …His all encompassing Divine Love and protection.❣️

  2. The thought comes to me that we can also go out and draw a circle of Love and include everyone
in it – then we are not only protecting ourselves, but helping to protect everyone else also.
I love the thought that we are walking about in God’s universe – a good thing to keep in mind
always and knowing that God is with every one of us all the time.

  3. Thank you for theses truths, Evan. This reality protects us more than any mask or social distancing can ever do. Our only reality is the fact that God is all. This all-ness is GOOD for God’s entire creation. “This is the day the Lord hath made..”. Let’s all go forward and express the joy this day will bring!. ☺

    1. Thanks for posting this, Gail. Loved the photos and lyrics that went with it. A song of joy and truth that our world so needs!

    2. Thank you Gail for sharing, just watched the video, beautifully done, gave me chills. I was glad to see it’s been enjoyed almost a million times by people all over the world. Also some good comments were posted below the video. I clicked on another version of the same song afterward, shows an orchestra playing in the forest on a riverbank, while the singer paddles a canoe on the river (by Fountainview Academy). Amazing!

  4. Edwin Markham: He drew a circle that shut
me out — Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout. But
Love and I had the wit to win: We drew a circle
    that took him in.

Maggie’s comment brought this poem to thought.

  5. Hymn 264 freom the Christian Science Hymnal. by S. Barring-Gould

“Onward Christian Soldiers marching as to war, With the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ the Royal Master leads against the foe; Forward into battle, See his banner go.

Like a mighty army, Moves the Church of God; Brothers we are treading, Where the Saints have trod.
We are not divided. All one body we, One in hope and doctrine, One in charity.

Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane, But the Church of Jesus
    Constant will remain; Gates of hell can never; ‘Gainst the Church prevail;
We have Christ’s own promise, And that cannot fail.

Onward, then, ye people, Join our happy throng; Blend with ours your voices,
In the triumph song; Glory laud and honor, Unto Christ the King; Through countless ages sing.

Onward Christian Soldiers, Marching as to war, With the Cross of Jesus going on before,”

The prayers of this congregation are getting the job done. Fear is abatting, confidence is strong.
I thank all for your tireless efforts and the Love and compassion expressed.
Soon all will be forgotten in Holy bliss.

Peace and Lovingkindness. Gratitude the serpent is once again a rod.

    1. Thanks for posting this song. I remember singing it in church when I was young. Thank you Evan for your love and support during trying times!

  6. Thank you Evan for these Truths to help us on our way forward having a right state of mind in the consciousness of Truth. Thank you Gail for sharing this song. Also thank you M for sharing.

  7. Thank you Evan and all for these wonderful thoughts and songs to sing with fresh new views.
Thank you Father Mother God for being You!

  8. Thank you Evan for your complete assurance that health, strength, and wellness are attributes of God, and we therefore embody and express these qualities as reflections of God. No belief of a virus can change this absolute truth! We are safe in this understanding.

  9. “In atmosphere of Love divine, /We live, and move, and breathe; /Though mortal eyes may see it not, /’Tis sense that would deceive.” (Hymn 144 from the Christian Science Hymnal) I work three days a week at a public library, where we are required to wear masks and follow other hygienic procedures. However, I have always felt perfectly safe and recognize my fellow workers as completely safe also, with no fear of Covid-19. This imposition on the world must lift because it has no “cause” or “reality” in God’s kingdom, which is everywhere!

  10. Maggie, I enjoyed your idea to draw a circle of love and include everyone in it. That made me think of when Mrs. Eddy said, “God is at once the centre and circumference of being.” (S&H p. 203-204). That covers everything, everywhere. Where can we go to be outside of that? Nowhere!

Thanks Evan for “walking around in God’s universe,” yes! We are all in the “…atmosphere of Love divine…” where “…we live and move and breathe.” (Hymn 144).
Blessed and beautiful day to all!

  11. Thank you so much. This is so reassuring and gives me my sense of freedom back. Confidence and courage to enjoy God’s kingdom given to us all — that’s a much better outlook than a fearful one.

  12. Thanks a lot to all! Such various and interesting outlooks are given here today in form of a lovely music video and a link to an inspiring SpiritView of 2015 and inspired comments!♡

Thank you very much, dear Evan for your comforting and uplifting Truth thoughts to today’s special situation which are very very helpful!
How grateful I am for the kindness people expressed, offering to help me. Also the vendors in the groceries were very kind and we talked kindly, also laughing nicely. Only the masks and the bigger space from each other remind me of a seeming special time. Of course I am under way knowing that God is everpresent, guiding us safely and lovingly

In a Sentinel Watch today I heard a practitioner say, that God’s child (we all) are the reflection of God’s omnipresence. That means for me, that all around us all is GOD, so we are always living, moving , breathing and having our being in God, all Good! That is so wonderful, and am grateful that spiritual idea and that God lead me to listen to that Christian Science podcast on Facebook.
Thanks a lot, Evan for your so helpful and healing SpiritView ! Love to all ☆☆☆

    1. Your joy reminds me of the lines from the familiar poem posted previously on SPIRIT VIEW: “I am the place where Love shines through, for God and I are ONE not two……. “. by Markham, so I am grateful to hear how kind and helpful things were where you are. We are all looking forward to the kindness and joy of others, all the time. Glad you are too.!

  13. I think the song on the video, This is My Father’s World, was written by Mindy Jostyn and is on her CD from the CS Publishing.
