It’s a far-out statement, one that defies human mind logic and material sense testimony, but nonetheless, was proven real and true by Jesus Christ, the master spiritual healer of all time. Mary Baker Eddy writes, “Evil has no reality. It is neither person, place, nor thing, but is simply a belief, an illusion of material sense” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 71).
As Jesus proved in his triumph over every form of evil he faced, evil may look very real and true to the material senses, but it is not. It is a temporal dream-state of mortal mind that yields to the omnipotence and omnipresence of God.
Nailed to the cross by the worst of evil passions and antipathies toward the truth he stood for, Jesus was not afraid. He knew his Life with God would triumph over the attacks of his enemies. He walked out of the tomb alive and well three days later proving that evil had no power to destroy him. His truth with God stood firm and was never lost.
Our truth with God likewise stands firm and is never lost.
We have spiritual individuality, made in the likeness of God, that is never touched or threatened by any claim of evil. Ever!!
As we find peace with our reality in God, we can face evil fearlessly and not be pushed around by its claims and assertions. We can be like Jesus when he said, “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve” (Matthew 4:10). We can spend our time serving God, rather than bowing to fear and sin. We can stay out of the illusion-land of mortal mind that is mired with beliefs of evil.
We can live with God, in a consciousness of boundless good!
Oh Evan….for me this is fantastic. I love also the setting of your picture ! For me it has the atmosphere and encouragement to go to a ‘’quiet place’’ and then really study the words written above.
‘’Our truth with God stands firm and is never lost’’ perfect.

Let neither fear nor doubt overshadow your clear sense and calm trust, that the recognition of life harmonious — as Life eternally is — can destroy any painful sense of, or belief in, that which Life is not. Let Christian Science, instead of corporeal sense, support your understanding of being, and this understanding will supplant error with Truth, replace mortality with immortality, and silence discord with harmony.”

Thanks, Evan; I needed that after spending the last 45 minutes reading news about Iran, Russia/Ukraine, goings on in Washington, D.C., etc., With all this error shouting at us, it’s tough to stay focused on the reality of good, of peace, harmony and Truth— the kingdom of heaven right here, right now. But I know we must do it!
Thank you Evan and all of you for your comments. I wasn’t feeling so good when I awoke this morning. The last few days I have been denying the error and knowing the truth. Also knowing that my wife is a spiritual idea of God and does not have succumb to the cold or whatever it is that she thinks she has. I feel so much better now and I do believe that all that soreness I felt in my throat is no longer. Once again thank you Evan and all of you loving friends of SpiritView.

I love hearing from Andrea McCormick’s wonderful encouragement about how to face with knowing the difference or the identical error found after exposing illusion, delusion and confusion. I am lifted up with those words used for “uncovering” error then seeing/knowing/living the TRUTH. Thank you “J”.
I have read this article before, but it speaks to the topic so well. Regarding confusion, historian’s note the perplexed conclusion the native Americans had when they first saw Columbus’ ships from Europe. They were so different from anything they had seen, they did not register as something that could navigate the ocean, but as “islands” that could somehow be moved. I had the same reaction to a ship as a young child. All I had been exposed to that were defined as “boats” were sailboats and motorboats. When I was told we were looking down from a mountain at a “really big boat that airplanes could land on” all I saw was streets of the city below. The aircraft carrier was docked and looked like just another street with buildings on it. (My mother was really upset and thought something was wrong with my vision) A higher understanding would instantly identify ships and not islands, and a higher understanding would have identified a ship rather than part of a city. Reading this article made me realize the possibility that we should consult the divine Mind to interpret anything we look at or we hear about. Only God can interpret what is real. “God is His own interpreter and He will make it plain.”

On Facebook, while clicking on posts from friends, I often see very atheist-based posts, mocking Christians and religion in general. I am learning more and more that in addition to its nothingness, evil is impersonal. It is never anyone’s actual thinking. We must condemn and deny the evil, but not the person. We are all spiritual and perfect now, and all true consciousness comes from God alone.

the very helpful article about the shadow of the beach ball and the various
stages of how mortal (little) minds-many can be evolved from. This reminds
me of the shadow on the wall, which appears to be a blemish of dirt. No
matter how much it is scrubbed, it can not be removed, because it is not
really there – it is an illusion. I have also seen a sweet video of a dog chasing
it’s shadow. It pounces on the shadow, thinking to conquer it, but is not able
to. When the dog moves, the shadow moves too, thus giving the dog a
different perspective, but when pounced on, again, the shadow is still there.
How often do we try pouncing on the shadows of life that try to become
real in our own lives? Only to realize their falsity and just an illusion. I am
so grateful for this and every SpiritView that helps eradicate the perception
of mortal beliefs and illusions. I thank you All for this wonderful support!
This wonderful Spiritview reminded me of a statement by Geoffrey Barrett in an August 1973 Journal article – “Being Above Battling” – (hoping someone can supply the link) – “Unflawed likeness to God is permanent and unassailable.” (Unassailable – not to be questioned, attacked, or defeated.) Thank you Evan and all for such encouraging Truth! Often, when I am confronted with the “illusion” of error I think of what you, Evan, quoted from S&H – about error being not person, place, or thing (condition). Recently, there seemed to arise a disagreement in my business with a client. I prayed with one of my favorites from Isaiah 54:17, ” No weapon formed against thee shall prosper…”. An angel thought came that this included the client – that instead of seeing her as someone that I needed protection from, I can know that no weapon – lies of discord – can prosper against either of us. Neither of us can be fooled into believing in discord – it truly isn’t person. place, or thing – just illusion!
