The human mind is tempted to believe in alternative realities. That there is an existence apart from infinite Spirit happening in matter that has little or nothing to do with Spirit.
Jesus Christ taught otherwise. He walked among humanity on earth, but his thinking was in heaven. He understood existence to be spiritual, at-one with God, in Spirit. And this understanding enabled him to demonstrate absolute dominion over the human experience. He did not teach us to live with an alternative existence apart from God, but how to find God as the only existence. He led the way to Life in Spirit—the kingdom of heaven, and he cried, “Follow me!”
To Jesus, there was one reality, and it was all about God! There was no alternative.
Mary Baker Eddy explains, “There is but one way to heaven, harmony, and Christ in divine Science shows us this way. It is to know no other reality — to have no other consciousness of life — than good, God and His reflection, and to rise superior to the so-called pain and pleasure of the senses” (Science and Health, p. 242).
So, again, if you’d like to experience the best God has to offer, be sure to acknowledge God as your one and only reality! There is no other. There is no alternative.
In one of the old Radio Sentinel programmes a speaker stated, referring to God’s reality: “it is such a big reality, there isn’t room for anything else.” Thank you, so much, Evan, for your wonderful inspiration for today.
I Ike the word “rise” as used in the quote from Mrs. Eddy that Evan shares today and also when she says in S&H that we have the right and the divine ability to “Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist [and reject] all that is unlike good.” (p. 393). It gives me the feeling of flying above the noise and lies of material sense.
Along the same lines the Bible (Prov 3:5-5) instructs us to, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Our own understanding I believe means the mortal thoughts about alternative realities that error tempts us with. The verse goes on, “In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Thank you to Evan and everyone here, from a grateful student of CS.

I wonder sometimes just what error is reporting to? It’s speaking into a vacuum. Spiritual consciousness cannot cognize evil. Nor act on it. There is no one created by our dear God capable of entertaining magnetic distractions. Not if Divine Love fills all vessels with eternal blessings. As vessels of Divinity aren’t we subject to the only omnipotent power that is?
It’s a false sense that we cannot entertain, is it not?
Stay with us for a while. While we leave bondage in material sense to reflect only Divine goodness and God’s reality. This line of thinking leads to eternal bliss. Heaven is here.
Our vessels are full. There is no mortal thought. No empty vessels able to absorb magnetic influence.
I just have to express gratitude for the articles you reference and add Angie. This one felt like it was just for me, as I was dealing with some things, and now I see my way to pray. I have bookmarked many of the articles you share that go along with the wonderful truth that Evan posts. I just felt the need to let you know today, how much I appreciate these article shares. I am grateful for everyone’s ideas and thoughts also. Wonderful shares and posts daily to lift and guide my thinking and I often find they are just the right thoughts at just the right time someone else around me needs also.

Thank you ever so much, Evan. I had been struggling with an issue, mired in politics and public policy, and really needed to hear about the absolute reliance on God for protection and healing. This is a wonderful treatment and so needed for the whole world!
Here’s something that I was told by an experienced Christian Scientist:
Don’t leave heaven for earth. Keep your halo on!

How powerfully simple to think as we go through our day – if its not true about “God and His reflection” we don’t have to accept it as a reality. The real involves only God and His reflection. Thanks for this spiritual exercise. Who wants to live in an alternate reality when you can be in the God-bestowed reality which includes only blessings, love, joy, health etc.?

Thanks for all the comments above, leading me back to the heart and soul of Christian Science, “I am the place where Love shines through, for He and I are ONE not two” Found myself away (distracted) for a while, and woke up this morning, healed of a fall, by turning to the LOVE of Christ, leading me right back to my true reflection. On bended knee I am thankful to God for creating me in His image and likeness, full of gratitude.
