  1. Seem to be still Learning also regarding not trusting in even the very closest loved ones for our peace of mind or safety even, which is quite a challenging situation in multiple ways., including self condemnation, fear, disbelief and feeling foolish. Not sure if others have had any experience along these lines, but never would want this situation for anyone, since it feels so devastating, not only financially,, but in an attempt to destroy completely any sense of love or trust that remains. If any here have any helpful or healing words to share whether can relate or not, it would be received with much gratitude anf.love. Blessings to all here for this Lifeline of healing and Truth and purity of thought to uplift our nation and our world in prayer and forgiveness. Trusting in divine wisdom to guide, guard, and govern us all moment by moment to right steps and patient understanding, protection and a proper sense of Principle and harmony in wherever She places my home, filled with Love and joy! Peace and harmony to us all!

    1. Good Morning, Still Learning. One statement from the Bible I go to when afraid or unsure of what to do is: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding, in all they ways acknowledge him, and he will direct thy paths.” Also, from Mrs. Eddy: “No evidence before the material senses can close my eyes to the scientific proof that God, good, is supreme” I am also struggling with some financial issues since the loss of a job a while ago. I have been daily striving to look at Spirit, not matter for my supply. When you seek to know God with your Spiritual sense, as there are actually NO material senses anyway, you will see wonderful inspirations daily, this is a promise from our Lord Jesus and God. If we look to matter for life and substance, we find basically nothing, but seeking Spiritual Truth, Gods supply, will and does, bring us everything. The everything we have always had from the beginning, but seems to be all fogged in when looking at the so-called material life for our supply. Remember, God is ALL, this means your and my and all, supply and abundance and affluence. We not only survive but thrive in the Kingdom of God. Remember, completeness and stability are yours and mine, and all. I know you will see all blessings and love today, and all the days to come.

      1. Thanks for your inspiration Melissa. Along the same lines, I often rely on these thoughts from Misc Writings (p. 307),
“God gives you His spiritual ideas and in turn they give you daily supplies. Never ask for tomorrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment.”

Also, in yesterday’s SV, Ken shared one of his lovely poems, which has a recurring line about how to know what is best to do, which I found comforting, “In the quietness of Love, we always knew.”

To Still Learning, we are here supporting and learning with you.

    2. Dear Still Learning… how difficult it is sometimes to make Gods Principle our first port of call but how comforting that this is the only reality and power we can rely on. That only good is going on despite the material picture. Remember that whatever you experience isn’t personal to you. All error is nothing. You have to stand firm only on trusting in Gods plan and not a human one., even as you may seem to have to take difficult human steps.
I am working through some health problems only to be faced by somewhat major health problems for my husband. Although he is a very loving person he relies only on medical resolutions which every day immerses my thinking materially. But I have managed to do whatever is required of me materially by holding him constantly in thought as a child of God , and that nothing can threaten my spiritual understanding.
The second part of your post was beautiful . Cling to your spiritual convictions.
I’m sure you will be blessed by many helpful comments today on SV.

Ps 34 v4…’ I sought the Lord and he answered me, and delivered me from ALL my fears.’
Blessings to you and everyone today and always❣️

    3. Dear Still Learning,
As far as overcoming lack in finances – employment comes from a sincere desire to help others. God will direct you in the way.
There are so many opportunities and you will be directed to the one that best promotes your growth. Do not worry about making a mistake – if it be human will – because you can always turn to God for direction, even if you err. When we make mistakes we learn grace. And we learn the difference between human will and what God is saying. Although it is fun to learn what others think, to thine own self be true. God has the final say. Much love to you.

      Hymn 162

“It matters not what be thy lot,
      So Love doth guide;
For storm or shine, pure peace is thine,
      Whate’er betide.“

    4. This is to “still learning”…..since you are God’s child there is no way you can feel “self condemnation, fear (“false evidence appearing real”), disbelief or feeling foolish”….your happiness and contentment is always in God’s care and God only knows GOOD….all the time. Trust in His care and you will never be disappointed!

  2. Thank you Evan Trust in matter leads to pain and suffering. Trust in Spirit leads to health and peace. Therefore choose one dear brothers and sisters: choose one.

  3. Thanks So very much Melissa and Barbara for loving and very helpful ideas and reminders! God’s blessings on all here and Thanks to Evan for this beautiful space to praise God for all goodness and Love among brothers and sisters in Christ! Expecting healing for all involved! Progress is the Law of God., Love!

  4. Dear Still Learning – I don’t know if this simple example will help.

Early on in my married life, my husband dealt
with our taxes. I hadn’t been a student of Christian Science for long, but when I looked at what he was entering on the tax forms for me, I thought that it didn’t look
quite right – it was, sort of, bending the rules, you might say. So I told him I wasn’t happy with it, and pointed out that I wasn’t in agreement with all that he was putting down for me,
and tried to explain why. I was self-employed at the time.

I was very grateful to him for doing this task, as I didn’t really know much about tax, and I dearly loved him. However, I knew that it was imperative that we be open and completely honest. As
the Bible says somewhere “There is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed”. and I knew from the teachings of Christian Science that trusting in God, Spirit, brings only good to everyone.

He was quite put out by what I said,
and replied crossly – “Well, you had better do it yourself””. So I just said calmly “O.K”., not
quite knowing how I was going to do it.

A very short while afterwards, he conceded, and all was well, and has
been ever since. He obviously thought about what I had said, and did understand.

If we turn to God in any dilemma, even if we seem to be going against
the opinions or desires of our nearest and dearest, God will always straighten us out.
After all we are all His nearest and dearest.

    I hope this helps.

    1. Thanks so much and will finish reading after I go seeking today’s manna and hope to share with others I’m aware of being able to use as well. Much to think about and ponder, for which I’m very grateful to all for good ideas!

  5. A coat of many pockets
    By Pamela Chemberlin Lampson
From the June 7, 2010 issue of the Christian Science Sentinel

Love has loomed me as a garment of gentle armor.
Love is the very fabric of my being.
I am in my warp and weft, wonderfully woven.

I carry in my pockets the stuff—the substance—of immortality.
I carry in my pockets never-ending praise and gratitude.
I carry notes of golden angel song to remind me I am not alone.

I carry friendship to remind me of the tender touch of kindness.
I carry the roaring sea surf as faithful evidence of hope.
I carry redolent whispers of spring breeze for renewal
and fists full of wind as a sign of God’s omnipotence.

I carry rays of sunshine to remind me Life is light and full of joy.
I carry with me a star or two to remind me infinity is not beyond my grasp.
I carry the still, small voice of Truth to guide me if ever evil tempts.

I carry abundance because I cannot want for what I already have.
I carry bold intuition and humble understanding as proof of divine generosity.
In my pockets I carry all good, all honor, all majesty because I am created
by Mind—the tailor—whose reflection its garment wears.

  6. Dearest Still Learning,
I love your screen name, because we are ALL ~ Still Learning. I know I am!
I have found this statement to be helpful in many ways:
“Would existence without personal friends be to you a blank?
Then the time will come when you will be solitary, left without
sympathy, but this seeming vacuum is already filled with divine Love.
When this hour of development comes, even if you cling to a sense of
personal joys, spiritual Love will force you to accept what best promotes
your growth. Friends will betray and enemies will slander, until the lesson
is sufficient to exalt you: for “man’s extremity is God’s opportunity”. ‘
    (S&H 266:6-15)
I am always comforted by the warm and caring Love expressed here
by fellow Learners of the Truth. The comments so lovingly responding to
your reaching out is so heartwarming and genuine.
A big cyber Hug to you!

  7. Dear Still Learning and All,
God sent me this angel message before sunrise this morning, from 1 John 3 ~~ “Beloved, now are we the sons (children) of God.” I love how this applies to me and everyone, so I’m happy to share it with you.

  8. Recently I have tried to face every “problem,” whether small or large, with a smile and a “Thank you, Father-Mother for another opportunity to see your glory displayed in my experience.” And then I trust God and listen for His directions and find beautiful solutions that I would never have thought of myself. I smile because I know error’s attempts to make me believe in a power apart from God are impotent. God is the only power and “Truth is always the victor.” (SH 380:4) As Edith said, these times of seeming difficulty are just “learning opportunities for me to experience more of heaven and through that closer relationship with God,” And what Carol quoted: “man’s extremity is God’s opportunity” (SH 266:13). I’m so grateful that I’ve been taught this Science with which to change challenges into cause for rejoicing.

  9. Thanks So much Carol, Pam and Carolyn and any I missed. These are all my mana for.today! God bless you all for caring and Love!

  10. One of my favorite “go-to” reminders regarding family…

God is our Father and our Mother, our Minister and the great Physician: He is man’s only real relative on earth and in heaven. David sang, “Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.”
(Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 151:13)

  11. Today’s loving conversation is why I so love SpiritView and this precious community of still learning & always sharing students! We reach out in our need, and are met with so many beautiful, affirming truths. I know that I have been struggling, too. Yesterday as I pondered our weekly Lesson, I looked up the word “adopt” & “adoption”- these mean “chosen, favored,” and so if we are God’s chosen children and heirs, heirs WITH Christ, God has and continues to give us absolutely everything that we ever need, – – every answer, every avenue to finding employment, Every comforting angel, inspired thought & idea!
. I am so so so very grateful to everyone who has lovingly reached out to Still Learning, and, in turn, has blessed us all.
thank you, dear Evan, for providing this table around which we break bread, sharing from our plenty so that all may feast.

  12. Dear Still Learning,
In the preparatory school of human life we inevitably learn where our trust can truly be placed. This journey here is all about discovering our relationship to God. Disappointments, betrayals, and disloyalties impel our spiritual growth. All earth’s sorrows ultimately compel us to sever ties with a false material sense of life in order that we can be more receptive to the unwavering blissful reality of our true being in Spirit,- as well as prompting us to a shift of perspective as to our purpose in this earthly realm of thought.

Mary Baker Eddy’s life journey is a model for us in this regard. Her trust was grievously challenged through the constant disappointments and upheavals in her earlier years. The loss of her first husband, the infidelity in her second marriage, the forced separation from her only child, and her struggles with illness all served to propel in her a more vigorous search for Truth. And what immense blessings were in store for her!! Through the chastening of her affections and her deep spiritual search for God, her consciousness was prepared to discover the illusive nature of material life and to be illuminated to apprehend the glorious supernal reality of divine Love. And she was blessed immeasurably with the spiritual growth, spiritual understanding, mental capacities, strength, and dominion needed to share her discoveries of God’s all power and presence with the world! We can learn so much from her life example.

I am so moved by the many responses to your need S.L. Just think of all the loving thoughts and prayers that are with you!! God bless you dear one.

    – By the way, Edith, if you ever want to run for president, you have my vote!

  13. To trust in Spirit is utmost important for our progress in healing and loving our neighbor and so very desirable.
