The benefits of spiritual healing

December 9, 2019 | 16 comments

One of the benefits of spiritual healing is, that one is not only restored physically, they are improved morally, mentally and spiritually. One comes out of a spiritual healing a genuinely better person for the experience.

I share in this video a time when an incapacitating pain developed in my shoulder over several months that I was told I needed to treat with drugs. I didn’t want to use drugs or become dependent upon them, even though that is common practice by many. I yearned for a healing from the inside out that not only took the pain away but also would teach me valuable lessons on how to live pain-free without drugs in the future.

I found the healing I sought. Listen, and I’ll tell you how.

This vlog is part of my series on “The healing benefits of practicing Christian Science.”

  1. I have found this so helpful. Sometimes we get so impressed by the physical problem, wondering what it is and where it came from, that we forget that we’re only really dealing with an error of thought, a false concept of self, as you so clearly show us Evan. I love this vlog! Thank you.

  2. hmmm yes how often we say that WE NEED TO CHANGE OUR THOUGHT…but do we give power to human thought? “What is the spiritual truth about me?” is a SO MUCH BETTER thought..yes you are right that we need to stop examining the HUMAN mind or thought…and only focus on the DIVINE Mind!

  3. Dear Evan, and All, I do love this morning vlog. Christian Science is available and so do-able. What a gift ! Ultimate gratitude to the Giver of All Good, Only Good.

  4. Thanks Evan – very helpful. Wonder what the animal is crossing in closing scene. Looks very fit and healthy to me!

  5. Liked the phrase “trace it back” – mortal belief seeks to make a connection with the past in order to justify a present condition. How fortunate we are to have Christian Science and the dominion and Mindfulness to reject that which would trace & connect

  6. Thank you, Evan. I had somewhat the same experience as you, having pain in my shoulders to the point of not being able to raise my hands above my head. I, too, solved this through prayer in Christian Science and have not had the issue since. Although I don’t actually remember now what the source of the cause was. Your post brought this back to mind. I am so grateful for these post and the discovery by MBE to share with us this spiritual healing thought of truth over error, love over hate, joy over loneliness and despair.

  7. I love this vlog Evan! Very scientific! This is explained so well! Thank you! 🙂

(This Science is much more powerful than watermelons too – especially since watermelons (food or medicine) can’t make one a better person morally, mentally or spiritually.). Said with a smile. 🙂 🙂

  8. Thank you for this very helpful blog. When a condition seems to endure
It seems real and to undo its hold on thought is ro understand our spiritual
And only selfhood as the individual creation of the one MIND.
I shall listen again to this one as it is relevant to me at this time.
    Thank you so much

  9. Also a benefit of cs healing…residual healing.
When I was a student I was afraid of an upcoming Math exam…so I called a practitioner. He reminded me of my perfection as a child of God. Not only did I ace the exam, but I was healed on ganglion cyst on my wrist (which I didn’t tell him about). It seems when you recognize your perfection it goes into every area of your life. This was over 30 years ago.

  10. RIGHT ON, (AGAIN!), EVAN!!
We all love and appreciate you, as you must know by now (!)…for showing us some better ways…
    Truth’s Ways, Love’s Ways, Life’s Ways!

As for the temptation to go hunting for the beliefs that plague us…let us always recall Mrs. Eddy’s words: “Let Truth uncover error in God’s own way…”

As we love, honor, yield to the absolute truth of our being: Perfect God/Perfect Man, this truth goes to work to expose the mortal mind junk for what it is, and which is then seen as … junk! garbage’… not worthy of our time or keeping (!)…and we see we ARE free! Always have been free! God’s ideas are always and ever FREE! FREE! FREE!!!

    Whew!
(For a minit there i was believing the Lie… But even THAT belief is a lie!! )

  11. This is such a wonderful healing, Evan. Thank you so much for sharing it. It is full of spiritual lessons. What spoke to me especially today was when you said that you reflected the same Mind that all the tennis players did, and that’s why you were able to learn a new serve. This is such a helpful idea when learning new skills and is so encouraging not to give up when things seem difficult. It is really this acknowledgment of our true spiritual identity, our true self of God’s making, the knowing that it is possible for all of us to do, or to learn to do what we see others do and succeed at. It is like saying: “We (all) have the Mind of Christ” (1 Cor. 2:16). How can I thank you enough for all you give us through your blog!
